2002 Ford Focus 4 Door

Offered for sale in this true, no reserve price Ebay auction is this 2002 four door Ford Focus SE. Please note that this car will require the rebuild or replacement of it’s 4 cylinder engine as A) the engine’s old seals allowed motor oil to leak out and B) the owner, likely, didn’t regularly check the Focus’ oil level and C) the motor seized due to lack of oil. The Focus has traveled 165,000 miles. The Focus is, otherwise, in slightly above average condition.

The air conditioning is cold, the automatic transmission shifts certainly and well, the tires retain about 80% of their tread and the interior is rip free and clean. The car is equipped with power windows and power door locks. A Pioneer AM FM stereo CD player replaces the stock Focus radio. The owner advises us that he recently installed new brakes.

There are numerous paint chips on the front hood and a 3.5” triangular tear in the in the rear bumper cover. Overall the body and paint is very nice with these exceptions.

According to our Ebay research , good running, used 2002 Focus motors are available on Ebay for $275 to $500. Not bad. Years of reliable use are left in this Focus after install of a replacement power plant.

We require a $200 deposit within 48 hours of your winning bid. Full payment: 5 days later.

Please call with any questions or concerns: 321-279-8849.

This seller is not an auto dealer. We are a commercial financial institution selling the vehicle to assist our client, the owner, to avoid defaulting on his loan that is collateralized by the Focus. The winner of this auction will be provided the clean and clear, rebuilt-free, flood-free, salvage-free Florida title to the Focus.

Ford vandalizes the SEMA Show floor with 2014 Transit Connect

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

The Ford booth here at SEMA is practically a 1970s throwback with all these customized vans sitting front and center. And we're completely fine with that. Take the black and yellow (black and yellow, black and yellow) 2014 Transit Connect from Mobsteel above. It's got a great stance, sits on steel wheels and has a pretty cool paint job and graphics package to boot.
Of course, that's not the only van you can see at the Ford booth. In fact, there are 10 Transit Connect vans on display from Ford here at SEMA, and you can see them all in our live gallery of high-res images above. Then, if you want to know more about each specific model, feel free to scroll down to read all about these vans in the official press release from Ford.

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
