Selling my Wifes Ford Focus for her...In my opinion this car has absolutely no redeiming value...Everything is broken....EVERYTHING!!! When you come to pick it up you'll need a trailor. I drove it to the car wash the other day to take photoes and it scared the WooWoo out of me. The Brakes are barely functional, the ball joint is a mess, Tie Rods (both outer & inner) i don't know what they do but they suck, passenger side hub bearings are shot....I got quotes to fix the whole mess and it came out to just over $800...No way am I dumping any more money into the car. PLEASE! Someone take it off my hands.....
Oops, the wife just read what I was saying to everyone and she's pissed...according to her there's nothing wrong with her car, she loves it, the engine is great and it gets great mileage (30 mpg...lets call it average eh?) Ha! anyway, the new owner will need to put some work into it to get it up to a safe running condition.
Thanks
Hold on....my wife wants to say something...
- the ac doesn't work mostly likely the compressor itself is broke
- the heater itself works but the selector switch to change it to anything other than defrost does not
- It has new tires as of February
- the sun roof is in working condition
- It needs a new hub bearing on the passenger side
- ball joint and Tie rod on the Drivers Sorry I can not remember which inner or outer although I know I replaced one of the two on both sides last year and that this is not that one.
- The brakes as he described feel funny due to the bad tie rod
- both pads and roters were replaced last year and they were not commented on when they looked at the ball joint.
- there are sever dents and dings on the vehicle ..... they are all not mine! Prior to me owning the car it had some sort of front end collision. Which is not listed on car fax ...... so helpful when I purchased said vehicle.
Honey! Lets not forget to tell the fine folks, that have made it this far in our little tirade, about the wonderful bent passenger side door that allows you to wash both the interior & exterior of the car AT THE SAME TIME:)! Ha! anyway folks...the bidding starts at $200 and ends in a week, good luck.

F-150 just the start of Ford's aluminum plans
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Not only have we been told that the 2015 Ford F-150 is tougher, more durable and up to 700 pounds lighter than the current truck, Ford COO Mark Fields said it's also "CAFE-positive." That means, for the first time in the history of corporate average fuel economy standards, the F-150 would be a positive contributor on Ford's CAFE balance sheet instead of being a vehicle it needs to counterbalance with frugal offerings.
Fields' comments made at the Detroit Auto Show were among quotes from other Ford execs that confirmed the carmaker will be using aluminum for more of its vehicles. CEO Alan Mulally said it would "proliferate across our lineup," with speculation being that we'll see it applied to crossover and sport utility models first, since they'll benefit the most. Even gaining the massive scale of using aluminum on the world's best selling vehicle for its first effort - on average, the company sells two times as many F-150s in a single day as Land Rover sells of its aluminum Range Rover in a month - Ford will be looking to further spread the cost of its five-year development investment in aluminum technology. And that should mean better handling and fuel economy for those of us who don't need to wear hardhats at the office.
Ford trademarking 'Mach 1,' possibly for Mustang
Thu, 24 Oct 2013A legendary name might be accompanying the redesigned, 2015 Mustang when it finally makes its world debut - Mach 1. Stumbled upon by the team at Ford Authority, the Mach 1 title was found in a trademark filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and would revive a name last used on the fourth-generation, 2003 Mustang.
While the the 2003 vintage was well and good, the Mach 1 is really remembered for a three-year run from 1969 to 1971 - it's best to just forget the emissions-choked 1972 to 1978 Mach 1s - when power output ranged from a modest 250 horsepower with the two-barrel, 351-cubic-inch Windsor V8 to "375 hp" (actual output was rumored to be well north of 400 horsepower) with the righteous, 429-cubic-inch Super Cobra Jet V8.
What does the title hold for the sixth-generation Mustang? It's tough to say. The fanatics at Ford Authority seem to think Mach 1 could take the place of the Shelby GT500 at the top of the Mustang hierarchy, which sounds like a valid argument. At the same time, we could see the SVT Cobra moniker returning for the flagship model, and the Mach 1 doing battle with the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (unless the Boss 302 were to return). Confounding things is the historical precedent - the Mach 1 was responsible for the death of the Mustang GT in 1969, so it might make sense as a volume performance model.
Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sales jumping to new heights
Thu, 12 Sep 2013Ford can't seem to build F-150 SVT Raptors fast enough. The off-road-ready trucks have been one of the Blue Oval's most reliable sellers, with record sales in eight of the last 10 months and a 14-percent jump in 2013. That's impressive enough, considering that the least expensive Raptor starts at $44,000. Factor in the modded F-150's fuel economy (it's rated at 11 miles per gallon in the city and 16 on the highway) and a national average gas price, as of this writing, of $3.55 per gallon, and its success is as unlikely as Ford's home team, the Detroit Lions, winning the Super Bowl this year (sorry, Lions fans, we're just quoting the experts in Vegas...).
Yet for some reason, Raptors spend an average of just 15 days on dealer lots before being snapped up, which is a quarter of the 60-day industry average. According to Ford's truck group marketing manager, Doug Scott, it's capability that keeps the Raptor selling strong. "What's helping drive Raptor sales is that Raptor delivers unmatched off-road performance to our customers. Raptor is also proof of our commitment to offer a truck for every customer and continuously improving them to meet our customers' evolving needs."
To address the strong demand for Raptors, Ford will bump production from three trucks per hour to five. Not much, we agree. But building an extra 48 trucks per day, at most, seems like a prudent way of addressing demand without oversaturating what is ultimately a niche market. Check out the press release below for more.
