UP FOR AUCTION IS TWO Ford Fiesta's - Location is East Hampton, CT- 06424

Reserve is very low for all you see here!

#1 is a 1978 Orange with a GREAT Body (Original Title in Hand from 1978).  This car has been in storage since 1980, and from what I was told, had engine problems- hence it was stored inside in a garage since until I purchased in 2007.  All Glass and interior is in good shape and included

#2 is a 1978 Yellow "S" (Bill of Sale from SC in Hand- no Title for this year) with a sunroof (and a brand new glass sunroof still in the box) This car has rust, but not bad.

Here is the list of stuff that goes with these two Fiesta
1. A BAT Ground Effect's kit, used but in excellent condition
2. New Coils and springs
3. A header Pipe
4. A set of (4) stock aluminum wheels, a set of (4) aluminum racing wheels and several steel rims
5. A set of (2) BMW early 325 seats leather seats (I was going to swap these for the stock seats).
6. The Fiesta book
7. New Black rug
8. Dash Cluster, new in Box
9.  Brake Lights in box, new
10 Many many more parts too numerous to list

These two cars are in the following Condition.

#1 is a 1978 Orange with a GREAT Body - there is a slight bit of rust on the passenger side front bumber damper, about 2 inches. Easy fix- thats all for rust. The engine does not turn but this car has sat for 20+ years. Interior is orange and the seats have separated at the seams due to vinyl is just old. I bought this car from a man who had it in storage for almost it's whole life. The engine crapped out and he just kept it in the garage with the intention of one day repairing it. I purchased the car and it went into my garage with the same intentions. I start to de construct it with the intention of a full resto, and that is how she sits now. The yellow was going to be the donor car. The Orange Car is now outside under a tarp.

#2 is a 1978 Yellow "S" with a sunroof - This care has rust and was hit in the passenger qtr. panel. It ran when I parked it 4 years ago and I assume that she will turn over with some fresh gas and a battery. It was purchased for the roof, the engine, misc parts and a schematic to put the other one back together. The Car is now outside under a tarp.
TERMS:
These cars and all the items listed are being sold together, AS IS WHERE IS. All the glass is intact. the weather striping is in fair condition on the orange car. They must be picked up by the purchaser.  I have a towing company that will assist you and a quote can be provided once a zipcode of destination is provided.

Swedish car mag says Ford Mondeo is dangerously, illegally overweight [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Sweden's Teknikens Varld has a reputation for being very persnickety when it comes to auto safety testing, and its latest catch is the Mondeo Titanium Estate 2.0 TDCi 150 bhp S6 MPS (basically a station wagon variant of the Fusion). In addition to the model's mile-long name, it has another problem according to the Swedes, because its weight on the scales does not equal the official numbers for the vehicle. Teknikens Varld claims the wagon is dangerously overweight because it weighs in 4,145 pounds, while Ford officially lists its weight at 3,530 pounds. That 615-pound disparity means that if a family loads it to what they think is the model's gross vehicle weight, it will actually be too heavy, and therefore illegal to drive in Sweden. According to the magazine, when it tried doing this, the rear wheels scraped against the wells, and the estate failed the mag's legendary moose test. However, at 220 pounds over the limit, it passed the test. When reached for comment by Autoblog, Jay Ward, Senior Manager at Ford of Europe Product Communications, explained the reason for the deviation between the official numbers and the magazine's test: "We are aware of this, but this is not an issue that relates specifically to the safety of the Mondeo, but is in fact related to the way in which the cars are tested by the authorities. We provided an Ambiente model for the testing but the car that featured in the magazine test was a Titanium model which has a different weight. We are in discussion with the Swedish Transport Agency to change the framework so the real weight of the Titanium model is reported instead of the Ambiente model which will resolve the issue." Teknikens Varld is well-known for calling out automakers for perceived transgressions. Most recently it leveled criticisms against the all-wheel drive system in the Honda CR-V, and both the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Porsche Macan failed its moose test. Scroll down for the magazine's video of weighing the Mondeo Estate and the model's test results. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The new Ford Mondeo is dangerously overweight The new Ford Mondeo is a great car, which Teknikens Varld's test shows, but there is one problem – the weight. Mondeo weighs 279 kg more than Ford claims. With big load (ie family plus luggage) the car therefore becomes illegal to drive.

Ford Focus EV's slow sales trigger massive incentives

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The Detroit News reports Ford is having real trouble moving its new Focus Electric. As a result, the automaker is offering substantial incentives in an attempt to lure in more buyers. How substantial? Try $10,750 off of a three-year lease. What's more, the EV can now be had for $37,995 ($2,000 less than its original base price) on top of an additional $2,000 cash discount to buy the EV outright - or you can opt for 1.9-percent financing if you work through Ford Motor Credit. None of which factors in various potential government incentives. Last year, Ford managed to sell a paltry 685 of the 1,627 Focus EV hatchbacks it built.
Ford isn't alone in trying to woo more buyers to its EV effort. Nissan cut the price of its Leaf by a whopping 18 percent for 2013, now down to $28,800 and built in the USA. The move followed the automaker's substantial incentives in 2012.
If you want a Focus Electric, you can now apparently get your hands on one for as little as $285 per month with $930 due at signing for a 36-month lease with 10,500 miles per year.

Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed.
