We are moving and third baby forces sale of my beloved project car.  I am a professional automotive painter, and this was my personal project until my son came along and we had to buy a minivan.  Needless to say, for a multitude of reasons, I must sell the Falcon that I've put countless hours into.  Okay, now on to details of the car.

I purchased this original California car back home in Modesto California about 8 years ago, brought it up to Idaho with me when I moved, and finally decided to tear into it.  It wore it's original white paint, and had red interior.  The only rust on the car was below the rear glass window, which I cut out and welded in new metal.  That was it!  The floor, quarters and doors are immaculate for a car of its age, and no major damage anywhere!

1966 Ford Falcon NOT RUNNING YET
Rebuilt 302, ZERO Miles on motor since rebuild. Mexican block(stronger with beefier main caps and ARP STUDS) Heads are reworked 351 Windsor heads for the larger valves(Stainless), Comp-Cams roller rockers, Edelbrock intake and carb, mild performance hydraulic cam with a decent idle. Aluminum valve covers.
Ford Toploader 4 speed transmission.  Original factory shifter, tunnel hump, clutch pedal and linkage.
9 inch rear axle.  The differential has a 3:1 ratio, Non-posi (open).
Wheels are stock 14 inch steel with old used tires, the rims in the photos were borrowed for the car show which I won 3rd in the "In progress" class.  (The motor wasn't in at the time, and the other two cars that got 1st and 2nd were running already)
NEW disc brakes, stock 4 piston caliper, not the later Granada brakes.
NEW front suspension COMPLETE, including a 1 Inch sway bar.
Reconditioned steering box.
Tie rods are the old ones, haven't gotten around to replacing them yet, and needed to get the wheels connected to the steering wheel before the car show.  I have a pair of either the inner or outer can't remember which, that are new and included.

All bodywork and paint was done by me in a professional bodyshop where I work.  The car was completely stripped down to the bare steel and primed with an epoxy primer.  The paint is BASF's UNO, which is a very high quality single stage (About $800 for the gallon of Red paint, not counting the primers, and the hardeners and reducers for all of it). The dash, and all interior metal parts are painted black base coat/clear coat with BASF's R-M paint. (Same paint Chip Foose uses, not to say I'm any bit as good as he is, just so you know it's good quality paint in case you haven't heard of it before).  There is no body-mods, all emblem holes are still present.  The only change I had made is cut the hole in the dash larger for an aftermarket stereo(Standard size), and filled in the hole on the top of the dash that was for the single speaker and the slotted holes used for mounting a dash pad.  The defroster openings are still there to be functional.  I smoothed out the top of the dash and is painted with a flattened clear coat.  I used a flattened clear so there won't be so much glare from the sun as it hits the dash through the window.  The lower section of the dash is still gloss black like the rest of the interior.   All of the parts were painted separately off of the car as you can see in photos.

Paint code is Ford: E4  "Vermilion Red"  Does NOT look orange in the sun.

I have a lot of photos showing progress of the car, more than I care to post on this eBay ad.  I can eMail additional photos to anyone serious about purchasing this car.

This car is obviously not completely assembled.  However I have all the original usable parts to complete it.  Most still need some reconditioning (ie. Bumpers and seats), but all of the hard work is done to the car.  I have a lot of spare parts that go with the car.  So if you have the car shipped on a car hauler third party, you will still need to come by or arrange for someone to pick up all of the parts that go with it.  I do not have the time to pack all the little and large parts separately.  Everything should fit in a small uhaul trailer or a pickup bed.

Here are just a few thing that still need to be done:
Upholstery, including headliner, carpet, door panels and seats. I have the original door panels, misc trim parts and rear seat.  The front seats are high back seats out of a late 70's era Camaro. I do not have the original seats, they were MIA when I purchased the car.
Weatherstripping (I have a new set of belt-line moldings, which is the set that goes in the door on either side of the glass)
Glass all needs to be installed.  (There is no windshield, I will have my glass guy come by and install one once auction successfully ends and I receive a deposit.) All other glass is original and in good condition.
Exhaust system
Wiring and gauges(I have all the original wiring and a couple sets of original gauges)
Everything under the dash needs installed. (ie. wiring, heater, defroster, glove box innards etc..)
Bumpers re-chromed
Grille and headlight buckets
Fuel line and brake lines ran to the rear of car and gas tank installed.
Drive-shaft cut to fit and installed
Pretty wheels and tires (your personal preference,I won't make you pay for wheels that I like and that you might not, everyone has their own personal tastes there, so it comes with ugly stock ones to roll around on)
Tie rods changed out (I have one new pair, as mentioned above)
Clutch linkage connected
Misc odds and ends like door handles, gas filler neck, emblems etc....

The door latches are installed and work from the inside or from a rod through the hole on the outside where the handle goes.  All panels and gaps are adjusted and open and close with ease as they should.

Any questions feel free to send an eMail, if you wish to speak directly please include your phone number and a time to reach you.  Thank you for looking.

Ford builds USAF Thunderbirds Edition Mustang for charity

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Each year since 2008, Ford has created a one-off Mustang to celebrate military aviation, and the cars have been auctioned off at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Gathering of Eagles charity event to raise money to inspire the next generation of aviators. This year's charity car is the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, which also helps celebrate 60 years of Thunderbirds air show excellence.
Of all the EAA charity cars, this Thunderbirds Edition is the most in depth. Painted to match the F-16 Tomcat fighter jets used by Thunderbirds, this Mustang also gets a widebody kit and 22-inch Forgiato wheels to go with the cockpit's Recaro bucket seats, rear-seat delete and modified navigation screen and gauge cluster. Even the Mustang's projector puddle lights have been changed to show an aircraft silhouette - rather than the Mustang's galloping horse logo - when the doors are open.
Themes for previous EAA charity cars include the Blue Angels, SR-71 Blackbird and the Red Tails as well as the F-22 Raptor-inspired AV8R and AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll" models. Scroll down for the press release for the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, and be sure to check out our galleries for all six aviation-themed Mustangs.

American automakers fall in latest Fortune 500 rankings

Fri, 10 May 2013

Not that it means anything beyond bragging rights, but if you're fixated on the positions of domestic automakers on the annual Fortune 500 list, both General Motors and Ford are still on it but they've slipped a couple of notches. The list ranks American companies and they're ordered solely by revenue. GM, fifth last year, came in seventh, while Ford fell from ninth to tenth even though both companies saw small gains in annual revenue.
GM's $152.3 billion in revenue was less than a third of that of the first company on the list: Wal-Mart, which regained the title from Exxon Mobil. Berkshire Hathaway and Apple are the firms that moved GM down. Ford, displaced by energy company Valero, had $134.3 billion in revenue.
On a side note, profitability isn't a factor, but both GM and Ford were down in this year's list compared to last year's: GM declined from $9.2 billion to $6.2 billion, Ford fell from $20.2 billion to $5.6 billion. If profits were included, Exxon Mobil would probably still be king: although the energy company made almost $20 billion less in revenue than Wal-Mart's $469.2 billion, it posted $44.9 billion in profit compared to Wal-Mart's $17 billion.

2015 Ford F-150 appearance guide takes the truck from mild to wild with options

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

We already know that the 2015 Ford F-150 has a base price coming in at just $395 more than the 2014 model, despite all of the new standard tech and aluminum-intensive construction in the upcoming version. Now the Blue Oval is finally giving us an idea of what that extra money actually buys customers, with the release of the appearance guide for its latest pickup.
The guide basically explains everything you could want to know about what changes occur among the multitude of trims on the 2015 F-150. There are five levels for the new truck. Although, that is something of a misnomer because most of them are also available with either Sport or Chrome packages, plus the FX4 Off-Road option with Hill Descent Control, an electronic-locking rear axle, off-road shocks and skid plates. With 13 available colors, including 4 new ones, and 14 wheel designs in various sizes, pickup buyers should have no problem specing one to fit their style.
The lineup starts out with the base XL with a black grille and fascia and 17-inch wheels. However, across most of the range the Sport and Chrome packages are also available to add either body-color or chrome accents, respectively. Next up is the XLT with a standard chrome grille but also available with a black, billet-style one with a body-color surround. Things really start getting plush with the Lariat model with leather trim, a three-bar front end and 18-inch wheels. The King Ranch sticks with that look but adds power running boards, 20-inch wheels and two-tone paint. Finally, the top-dog Platinum is all about bling with yet another frontal design, chrome door handles and mirror caps, a big logo running across the tailgate and more.
