1965 Ford Falcon Futura Factory 289 V8 Car on 2040-cars
Rockford, Iowa, United States
For sale is a 1965 Ford Falcon Futura. Came with the 289 v8 and c4 ultramatic transmission from the factory! The motor is currently out of the car, as we rebuilt a 302 to put in place of the 289. The motor is assembled and ready to be dropped in. 302 rotating assembly with 289 heads, head had over $900 worth of work, including, stainless valves, ported, all new springs and retainers, Comp Cams roller tip rockers, cleaned, heat treated and resurfaced. Has a Lunati Voodoo Cam package which included a .562 lift cam and lifters. HEI Distributor, Noisy Gear drive, new fuel pump, new oil pump, Edelbrock Aluminum intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb. Motor will run very strong and move this light weight Falcon around very good, should be a good for 300+hp! Motor is ready to be dropped back in! The Transmission is still strong and dont slip a bit! Overall the car is very solid, no holes in trunk or floor, no rust, and its not a bondo car, this is very solid all metal still. Inner front fenders have very small holes which is typical with the Falcons, Mustangs and Fairlanes. Interior is all original, its in very good condition still, needs to be cleaned, steering wheel is becoming weathered which is typical of these cars. Paint is 20+years old, but as you see from the pictures it still has a shine to it, but its not show paint. All the chrome is there, along with all the trim, glass is in excellent condition still as well. Has brand new Jegs pro star wheels, with new BF Goodrich tires all the way around, brakes are in good working order aswell. For the most part the car is still original, been in the family for 20+ years, always stored inside out of the weather. Doors shut solid and tight like when it was brand new, all the body lines are flawless, straight with no exrtra gaps, rare to find anymore. This is someones chance to get a huge head start on a restoration since theres no body work that needs to be done, and the car is solid through out, or throw the motor in and drive just the way it is. These are getting harder and harder to fine, especially 2 door hard top Futuras! Any questions feel free to ask, located at Rockford, IA! Thanks

Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Scroll down to read the recall announcement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or download the full defect notice as a PDF, here.
Watch how Ken Block spent his weekend in Barbados
Thu, 22 May 2014Regardless of what you think of his skill as a racer, Ken Block is an expert showman. At this point, he has a career of showing up around the world to do vehicular stunts, and he's still able to go racing as well. It's a pretty sweet niche to carve out. Recently, Block was in Barbados to participate in Top Gear Live and the first event of the Global Rallycross Championship season, and Ford Racing produced a short video to show off his exploits.
It looked like a great show. Block got to race Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes-Benz Formula One car and had a very weird crash during a Rallycross race that put his Ford Fiesta on its roof. Top Gear also released an extended look at Block and Hamilton's spectacle with the two of them expertly sliding around. Scroll down to watch the videos and get a taste of Block's tropical racing adventure.
Ford Focus refresh shots leak ahead of Geneva
Sun, 23 Feb 2014In case you haven't been paying attention, Ford has been gradually redesigning its lineup to sport a familiar face. The Aston Martin-inspired grille shape debuted on the Fusion and was soon applied to the Fiesta. Even the front end of the new Mustang takes its cues from the same, and we're sure other models will soon be made-over to fall in line. The next on the docket? The Focus.
Set to be unveiled in little over a week at the Geneva Motor Show, the revised Focus has leaked out a tad early, revealing a mild facelift that bears that same trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats. Along with the new grille, the headlights, lower fascia and hood appear to have been reshaped. Around back there appears to be a new rear bumper and taillights, but otherwise the shape remains largely the same as the current model.
Expect the updates to be applied to all bodystyles offered around the world, including the hatchback, wagon and sedan. The engine lineup is expected to carry over largely unchanged, though the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the C-Max Energi could port over to the revised Focus. Plus Ford seems to have taken the opportunity to spruce things up in the cabin some. Check it out in the image gallery above and watch this space for the official announcement as we pack our bags for Switzerland.
