Up for sale is a 1965 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible.  I recently bought this car and have done absolutely nothing to it except vacuum out the debris in the floor and trunk  I honestly don't know much about the car but I'm going to describe it as best as I can.  This is a solid foundation to start with compared to most in this price range.  Pictures were taken after I rinsed the dust off the car so there is some water spots on the concrete.

SBF V8 engine with a C4 automatic transmission. I have not looked for the engine block date code to verify year and if its the 289 or 302 but can if you like.
Stock manifolds with single exhaust which needs to be replaced.
Very clean and straight body black primer.
Solid fenders, doors, rockers, quarters, hood and trunk lid.
Solid trunk pan and floors.  Small amounts of rust here and there but nothing major that I can tell.
All the glass is there but front windshield has a crack.
No bumpers

17" Bullit wheels
The tires are 245/45/17.
Gas tank, sending unit, convertible top and pump have been replaced recently.

Based off the data plate:

Model Series = Convertible
Engine = 289 Cu. In. V-8 (2V)
Exterior Color = Vintage Burgundy
Upholstery Color = Black Sierra Vinyl
Date Born = 08 April 1964
Transmission = Dual Range Automatic - (C-4)
Axle = 2.80:1
DSO = Louisville
Assembly Plant = Lorain

 The car starts, runs and shifts into gear.. I drove it around the block just to make sure. Looks to have fairly new plugs, wires, cap, and the coil is aftermarket.  The interior is just the seats, no carper or door panels but the rear panels are still installed. The glove box is in tact. The lights checked out and all are working.  The trunk latch is worn out and needs replacing $30. The generator has been upgraded to an altenator

.  This is an easy project car which you can restore as you drive it.  As I mentioned,  I have not driven the car much to really comment on how it runs but it does start and shift into gear as it should.  I just want to get what I paid for the car and would love to see it go to a good home.  Please ask as many questions as you'd like and also let me know if you need more pictures.  I can take pictures of whatever you need to see.  If the car does not sell I will just give up the idea of restoring a Hardtop car and work on this one.A non-refundable $500 PayPal deposit is required within 24 hours of the vehicle being purchased.  The remaining balance is to be made via cash or a cashiers check.

I do not accept wire transfers or personal checks.

The car will be released to buyer and/or shipper once final payment has cleared at my bank.  The only exception to that is CASH in person.

I am willing to work with pick or shipping arrangements for those who are not close to my location.  However, you must contact me before you bid to confirm your plans with me so we are both on the same page.

For those of you who are curious why I am selling this car it is due to the fact that I was originally searching for a hardtop. I stumbled across this thinking the convertible would be more interesting which it would but, I cant stop thinking about my vision on doing a hardtop version.  I do not want to work on this car and dump money into it and get to the end of the road and wish I had done a hardtop.  My theory on this is, list this car once here with no reserve at a reasonable price. If it sells I will go after a hardtop, if it doesn't sell then I will start working on this one anyway since its already a good platform.

10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019

Tue, Dec 24 2019

It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references.  Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.

Ford using robot drivers to test durability [w/video]

Sun, 16 Jun 2013

In testing the durability of its upcoming fullsize Transit vans, Ford has begun using autonomous robotic technology to pilot vehicles through the punishing courses of its Michigan Proving Grounds test facility. The autonomous tech allows Ford to run more durability tests in a single day than it could with human drivers, as well as create even more challenging tests that wouldn't be safe to run with a human behind the wheel.
The technology being used was developed by Utah-based Autonomous Solutions, and isn't quite like the totally autonomous vehicles being developed by companies like Google and Audi for use out in the real world. Rather, Ford's autonomous test vehicles follow a pre-programmed course and their position is tracked via GPS and cameras that are being monitored from a central control room. Though the route is predetermined, the robotic control module operates the steering, acceleration and braking to keep the vehicle on course as it drives over broken concrete, cobblestones, metal grates, rough gravel, mud pits and oversize speed bumps.
Scroll down to watch the robotic drivers in action, though be warned that you're headed for disappointment if you expect to see a Centurion behind the wheel (nerd alert!). The setup looks more like a Mythbusters experiment than a scene from Battlestar Galactica.
