1965 Ford Falcon on 2040-cars

1965 Ford Falcon Miles 102,860 I purchased this car about a year ago from an older gentleman in Georgia just as you see it. He had done quite a bit of work to it until medical problems shut him down. My intentions were to build it into the first car I ever owned which was a 1964 Futura V8 4 speed bench seat, blue on blue. A motorcycle wreck has changed my plans as well. I do not want this car just sitting for another year or two while I recover from back surgery, it’s had too much work and too nice to sit and start deteriorating. About the car, it runs great and drives well also. When I purchased the car it had up to date tags and insurance certificate so he must have been driving it on a regular basis. Most of the body work has been done; there are still a few areas that need to be taken care of but nothing major. For a 50 year old car it is in great shape with no major rot. The following information is from documentation he sent with the car that was performed in 2011 – 2012 by different shops and him: Installed rebuilt 5.0 roller engine - Installed rebuilt C4 transmission - New transmission crossmember - New gas tank and fuel lines - New wiring harness - Keyless remote doors and trunk - Install Hurst Shifter - Install new exhaust system - New electric fuel pump - New radiator New Edelbrock 4bbl carburetor – New aluminum intake manifold – New starter, started solenoid, alternator, distributor, wires and plugs – New motor mounts – New air shocks on rear – All new hoses and engine fan – All new rear brakes, drums and cylinders – New drive shaft and u-joints. It looks like front end work has been performed by the look of the tie rod ends and such. Trunk and engine compartment have prepped and painted. The car has 4 new 175/70R/14 tires mounted on the newer style Magnum 500 wheels with the trim ring. Body lines are laser straight that I have tried to illustrate in the pictures. All windows roll up and down as supposed to and the interior is fairly new. I have quite a few spare/needed parts pictured. The good thing about parts for the 64-65 Falcon, this was the platform the 64-65 Mustang originated. Other than the obvious body panels/glass etc. all of the chassis parts, engine compartment, window, door and interior parts are interchangeable. I will post pictures of all extra/spare parts I have that go with the car in the next few days. In this description I have tried to illustrate the car to the best of my knowledge. Like I have said most of the work has been done there is still a bit to go but it won’t take much to make a nice little hot rod out of this car. There is no warranty offered or implied with this vehicle and I reserve the right to end the auction early because I have the car for sale here locally. Thank you for taking the time to look at this ad. Please contact me with any questions you may have. Mike

Ford Focus RS will go global, come to US

Thu, Dec 11 2014

"We are transforming our approach to performance." – Mark Fields Ford will launch a new high-performance Focus RS around the world, including the United States, company CEO Mark Fields confirmed at a press conference Thursday morning. It is expected to debut in January at the Detroit Auto Show, though launch timing is unclear. "We are transforming our approach to performance," Fields said. The RS will serve as a hotter variant of the Focus, which will be redesigned next year as part of Ford's 16 product launches. Our spy photographers have already captured images of a purported RS, which you can see above. Ford last sold a Focus RS in Europe in 2009, and it continues the long lineage of RS-badged performance cars, which dates to 1968. "The RS has a significant heritage and pedigree," Ford product chief Raj Nair said. The Focus RS will slot above the Focus ST, which will continue, a spokesman said. The ST runs a turbocharged, 252-horsepower four-cylinder that's paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It also has chassis and design upgrades to reinforce its athletic dynamics. The most recent intel suggests that the new RS could use Ford's 2.3-liter turbo-four, tuned to anywhere from 325 to 350 hp. All-wheel drive is also rumored to be part of the new RS formula. Meanwhile, Ford announced it is putting all of its sporty units under the umbrella name of "Ford Performance," which will be led by Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak. Ford Performance will include Ford Racing, SVT (which is responsible for the Raptor and Shelby GT350) and RS. "We're changing Ford's performance business," Nair said. Ford is placing a renewed emphasis on performance, as the customers tend to be younger, wealthier and better educated, Nair said. In other news, Nair said the company is working on a Raptor version of the new, aluminum-bodied F-150, which launched this year. "I want to get it out as quickly as we can," he said.

Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.

2014 Ford Transit unveiled in Chassis Cab and Cutaway versions

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.
