Advertising:

Restored 1964 Ford Falcon Futura convertible for sale by owner. Restored in 2000. Body is a rust-free California car, which was powder blue.

Interior

NOS two-tone blue interior with bucket seats and an original center console. Carpet is also NOS. Interior looks good, carpet has suffered some discoloring/fading and the passenger bucket has some mold in the vinyl. Dash pad is included but not installed.

Exterior

Body and paint look good, but the car has acquired a few scratches and dings over the past decade (noted in pictures). The right front fender was repainted and does not quite match the rest of the car. Has a few small surface rust bubbles at the seam near the passenger side rear wheel. Wire hubcaps are in great shape. Most brightwork looks good, the grille is acceptable. The car has all new rubber parts and sweeps, although not all are installed. The top and back window still look new and powers up and down just fine.

Engine

Equipped with 289 V8 and automatic transmission from a 65 Futura convertible and upgraded with a Flowmaster exhaust system. Has been garage-kept since restoration and has 1120 miles since the rebuild. Engine, transmission, and steering box were all rebuilt.

The car currently has a 65 harness installed and could use some TLC to get everything right.

Extras

64 dash pad (blue)

65 dash pad (black)

65 steering wheel and horn ring

64/65 shop manual

Box of all uninstalled rubber and miscellaneous chrome, plus some extras

Car cover

$14,500 in receipts (less cost of paint job)

Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR and CR Supercars Villain are retro done right

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Gymkhana king Ken Block has had a pretty simple car history in his trademark videos, starting out with Subaru Impreza rally cars before moving into Ford Focus racers for the past four installments. His next video, though, Gymkhana Seven, kind of goes back in time.
Rather than the cutting-edge rally racers of past videos, Block will pilot a heavily modified 1965 Ford Mustang, called the Hoonicorn. How heavily modified is it? Well, Block's Hooligan Racing Division, ASD Motorsports and Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s RTR, spent two years working on it, ditching the standard engine and rear-wheel-drive layout and replacing it with a 410-cubic-inch Roush Yates V8. Yes, that's a NASCAR engine, and it produces 845 horsepower.
A NASCAR-powered Mustang would be news in itself, but it's the other powertrain changes made by Block and Co. that really makes headlines. Power is channeled through a one-off Sadev transmission and all-wheel-drive system, meaning that Block has basically married a NASCAR stock car with a WRC racer. ASD also developed the customized suspension, tubular chassis and roll cage. The wide Mustang body is the work of RTR and Block's own Hoonigan Racing Division, while the 18-inch fifteen52 wheels are shod in Pirelli Trofeo R tires that use a specialized compound exclusive to Block.

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.

2015 Ford Mustang stars in bizarrely awesome '80s aerobics video

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

For reasons we can't comprehend, here's a music video starring the all-new, 2015 Ford Mustang and a number of dancers dressed and styled in the most stereotypically 1980s way possible. The dancers then take part in a male-versus-female dance off. Again, we've no idea why it exists.
It's weird, and for the second time in two weeks, we're sat at our computer wondering, "What are we watching?" That said, it does show the new Mustang from a number of angles, and it's one of the first car-related YouTube videos we've seen that's available in a 4K, ultra-high-def stream.
Take a look below, and let us know what you think in Comments.
