1961 Ford Falcon 2 Door Station Wagon (like Sedan Delivery) on 2040-cars

Year:1961 Mileage:9999
Location:

Ada, Oklahoma, United States

Ada, Oklahoma, United States

I will try to describe this car  best as I can.  This is  a very restorable  vehicle.....The  body is in good  conditon...no major  damage or rust.  The only rust through I could see was  two small holes  on the hood, which IMO  could be easily fixed with a MIG ......fenders, doors,  quarters,  tailgate  good  condition......I  didn't  crawl under car  but  there will be some floor work required but I dont think a total replacement.

Overall rust is not a major  issue .. The  rust you see in the photo is 99.9%  surface rust.

All the  glass is in the car  except  the  passenger vent  window and all is in good condition.....Front seat is missing but  I believe a  two door  Falcon  coupe has same  seat...rear seat is there...instrument panel good  condition...

All the trim is on the car,  One trim  piece. on the upper  rear left quarter looks like somebody was  bending it on purpose.....some  dings in other trim but not bad and can be fixed.....  Since it is  stainless a professional could  restore all pieces...one piece would take  considerable work. the other only minor work..

Engine is a  six  banger, with a three on the tree  tranny...believe it or not this  car was  a  good running vehicle when parked about 40 years ago....hood has never been up since then so no water got on the engine...the oil is clean in the engine......I would almost bet that  it would  start with new points, plugs  wires  and carb  rebuild...Remember it has been sitting in  a  fairly dry environment jn Oklahoma...

I was going to haul this back to Florida but when I went to get it  I had with me 14 inch tires  and  discovered that it has 13 inch four lug rims...that is why it is on blocks as I  took three of the wheels off to get tires mounted.......i am almost sure the brake drums will be  difficult to turn since it has been sitting for  a  long time and possible they will require replacement,  I picked up a  57 Dodge  same  day I  bought this and had to cut the brake drums off....Chances are  the drums will have to be replaced anyway on the Falcon....\\

.  Fortunately the  dry Oklahoma  weather didn't  take it's  toll on this  collectible  car and although the surface rust makes it look rough, it really is not.......  Had it been down here in Florida with me it would be  a rust bucket......whew.....It will require a little work to get the brake drums to turn and  load this car on a trailer.  Also the  rear springs will need to be replaced as a couple of the leafs are broken.  This I understand was  a major  problem on  early Falcons  because they are  only 2 inches  wide.  I believe  in 64  they  put the 2.5 inch  mustang type springs on Falcons....a  good move on  Ford's  part......The  car can be  loaded and trailered but those springs will have to be  replaced. I have  found  repo springs for about $100...........

I will deliver  this  car to anywhere in just about the  whole southeast  for  the cost of  $1  a mile from it's current location.  I will not  deliver north of  Oklahoma or west of  Oklahoma......  Draw a line from Oklahoma City to  Tallahassee  FL and I will deliver  anywhere close to that...  otherwise it is LOCAL PICKUP only......Remember it will require  some brake drum work....I have three 13 inch tires  in the car but they need  to be mounted.  Best thing would be to bring four  good  four lug  ford  rims with tires and  a  trailer... Once  again  I will not arrange shipping other  than where I have stated. It would be up to you to go get the car or arrange shipping.   Since it will be hard to load take that into consideration BEFORE you bid.........  The  car is located in Ada, Oklahoma

I do not have  a title  but can  get one  for  an additional  $250  over the  selling price.  It  belonged to my uncle last and the Oklahoma  DMV said it cost  that  much to get a duplicate  title....... It will take  a  couple weeks to do that  after the sale of the car...otherwise you will get a  bill of sale and you can obtain your own title.  Different states have different rules and cost for obtaining a title for non titled  car...again take that into consideration BEFORE you bid....

This is a  rare Falcon..I have not seen another one in  a long time ...This  wagon is five times as rare as a  two door coupe and the least produced of all the Falcon  lines.......two doors  are very desireable ......I  love the looks of the  windows in ths car.............

I can be reached at  850 377 8472 with any  questions or send me an email..  I will accept pay pal for deposit and it is NON REFUNDABLE  due with two days of sale...full price due within a week.....no exceptions..... I am honest you be honest  with me.......

Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs

Wed, Nov 29 2017

BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining

Ford making Fusion production moves to challenge Camry on volume

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Ford Fusion may already beat the Toyota Camry in terms of models offered, transaction price and sales increase so far this year, but if the Fusion wants to make a run at the title of best-selling car in the US, Bloomberg reminds us that volume is key. Opening a second production line at the Flat Rock, MI assembly plant will reportedly allow Ford to produce around 350,000 Fusions annually, which compares Toyota's ability to crank out 475,000 Camrys and Honda's capacity to build around 450,000 Accords.
For the Fusion, that's an extra 100,000 units compared to the car's current pace, and the article adds that the Fusion is "Ford's best shot" to regain the passenger car sales crown - a title it (or any other US automaker, for that matter) hasn't held since the mid-1990s. Despite hiccups with recalls and fuel economy numbers, the Ford Fusion is still red hot when it comes to sales. Fusion sales are up 13 percent so far this year (compared to a 0.6 percent decrease for Camry), and its average transaction price of $26,343 is about $2,300 more than its rival from Toyota.
The Fusion's popularity has helped Ford improve its sales in California; the Dearborn-based automaker has a market share of 18 percent in the state, which is just a fraction of a percentage behind Honda. And this popularity should continue as Ford ups Fusion production and expands the model lineup even further for 2014 with a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine soon to become an option.
