Here is a 1962 ford Fairlane 500 that is complete and is a very rare car! Its
rare because it comes with factory Air conditioning and tinted glass. The glass is all in excellent condition too by the way! It has a 260 V8 engine that does run. The car was a good driving car. The tires are new but the car has been sitting in the shade for a few years. It also comes with original California black license plates and they will also match the pink slip. The engine is complete under the hood. It also comes with all the emblems. We reconditioned the hood and trunk lids. We sandblasted them and primed them gray. The car only has 40k miles on the odometer and the engine runs good. The drive line was disconnected for towing. There is some rust here and there but not to bad. I have lots and lots of close ups of all the rusty areas and the seats ect. So email for more photos. This would make a great rare classic car fixer upper. It will need to be towed because the drive line is disconnected. The body is in great shape no dents. Also the trim pieces are all there and in great shape too come see the car or ask for more photos. Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track
Thu, 29 Aug 2013The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
Ford Mustang 50th anniversary edition brings in $170k
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Just the other day, we reported on the first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat selling for a whopping $825,000 at auction. But impressive as that sum was, the Challenger wasn't the only sought-after modern muscle car to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Las Vegas this past weekend. So did this rare Ford Mustang.
The last of 1,964 special-edition 50 Years Limited Edition pony cars sold for a princely $170,000, with proceeds benefiting the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute, a branch of the Henry Ford Health System.
The pony car in question is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and upgrades with a performance package and nearly every option on the book, along with a unique appearance package to set it apart in celebration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary. It's available in two exclusive shades - Wimbledon white or Kona blue - with either a manual or automatic transmission. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples were to be built, and this was the last of them.
