I am just the seller, and the owners Son-in-Law of this Very Cool 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 2 Door Hardtop, with only 95,493 original miles. My Mother-in-Law inherited it from her Husband, and her Husband inherited it from his Mother, the Original Owner, which he was her only son.Which he licensed in 2008 and only drove it a few times and had 4 new radials put on it,and not long after he got sick, and put it back inside where it stayed until now!Which the original owner purchased it Brand New in her 50's after her husband passed away, and she only drove it to work for a while and to Church and the store, and it was always garaged. And it was bought in Denver,Colorado and I was told it never left Denver until she moved to Trinidad,Colorado to live with her son due to her age and health, and it was driven there by her son.But recently the Son of the original owner passed and now my Mother-in-Law and I are offering this Great Car for auction through eBay!And I was told the original owner drove it until the late 1980's,until she was in her 70's,and at that point the plastic covers were still on the seats, which the son removed.I call this a One Owner, because the Son who inherited it drove it a few times and put it back inside, like it had always been stored. And not too long after that,he passed, and now his Wife inherited it,my Mother-in-Law,so the last name on the title hasn't changed since 1966,and no one really driven it since the original owner.I listed this 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 2 Door Hardtop in April of 2013,and I took pictures of it dirty and dusty in a dark building where it was stored, and the bidders didn't really get to see how good it really was.And I also stated that it probably just needed a battery and it surely would start and drive.Since then I went back to Trinidad,CO,and installed a battery, and put fresh gas in it,and tried to start it and gas ran out of the accelerator pump on the carb.So I professionally rebuilt the Autolite 2 barrel carb, and it runs very smooth and quiet and it doesn't smoke, and it runs and drives very good.Which I didn't even put points and plugs in it,it's running that good, sounds amazing no engine noises at all,and I drove it about a mile to test it,and all I can say it's Super Nice! And now we've moved my Mother-in-Law here to Nebraska, and I towed the Car here on a trailer also.So I went through it and seriously cleaned it,vacuumed all the dirt off the floors, cleaned and treated all the Seats,Door Panels,Dash,,Back Deck, and even the trunk, which still has the original Firestone Bias spare tire, which I put all back together on it original mount, just like the decal inside of the the trunk lid shows. If you looked at the last listing of the Car back in April,it looks like a different Car now,and if I didn't have so many cars of my own,I would be after this one! This 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 came with the 289 Cubic Inch V-8,Automatic Transmission,Power Steering, and AM Radio, and it is all original, and when I went through the paper work,I saw the Husband changed the fuel pump in 2006,and now I've rebuilt the carb, and that's all that has been done, and the brakes feel and sound good. And all the glass is very good also,no cracks and very clean also. There is no rips or tears in the Seats, front and rear, but there is one tiny hole about the size of a pencil on the top outside corner of the drivers seat(shown in picture)and and one tiny small crack in the dash, next to the dash speaker, coming off one corner(shown in picture also)but surely both of them 2 flaws could be repaired, small problems!Even the original carpets look amazing look amazing, the only wear spots I can find is where it folds over the threshold to the floor from light normal use,but nothing really noticeable. And no rips or tears in the Headliner or Sun Visors, remarkable condition! And it only has minor rust around the rear wheel openings mostly small area at bottom rear wheel openings, and it has all solid floors inside the Car and even in the trunk, and it is missing one rear wheel opening molding, and a little paint loss and light surface rust on the bottom side of the hood, but minor stuff. And only has a few scrapes and scratches and a few minor dings, and the worst one is on the drivers side rear quarter by the taillight, and it isn't to bad,all shown in pictures.Very strait Car,if I didn't own so many now I would have never listed it,I would have bought it myself! And it does have a good dent in the rear bumper(Grandma Dent!)And all the Hubcaps look good but one,and I just happened to have a nice one in my stuff, which is in a box in the trunk,It is in a White Paint with a Reddish Maroon interior.I didn't look for the VIN on the motor, because I know it has all its original drive train! This is a totally untouched 1966 Ford Failane 500 2 Door Hardtop, that has never had the motor rebuilt, never been repainted or repaired or restored, stone stock original.Don't miss this one,you don't find Cars like this never,at least to my knowledge. And I am a Serious Enthusiast/Car Guy of over 35 years of building Muscle and Classic Cars! And this is a Real Beauty, never tampered with,Great One to Restore,or just do the body work paint and drive, the interior is that nice! There will be a $750.00 deposit due within 48 hours of the end of Auction through Paypal, and the remaining balance in Cash to the owner upon  pickup of the Car,in North Platte,Nebraska,at my residence. After auction winning bidder will get my phone number,to make arrangements to pick the Car up,I would advise a trailer, because it hasn't had any highway miles for several years. If there is any taxes due after the sale of the Car,should be the responsibility of the buyer,I am not responsible for any sales tax,I'm just the seller! If this description seems long,it is because I was trying to give bidders all the history I received from the family, and I tried to explain everything to the best of my knowledge.Sorry I don't have a lift to get any pictures from underneath the Car,but it has all solid floors and in the trunk, and I looks under the mat.!But don't miss your chance at this one, untouched by any amateur restorer! The remaining balance of the sale must be made within 7 days after the auction in person,or can make arrangements to pick it up even sooner after the sale! But the Car has to be sold "AS IS" with no warranty,But don't let that detract you, this is the nicest original not restored 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 on eBay!And it is outside for the duration of the sale,so local bidders will have a chance to see it,but it is safe. And If you would like more pictures give me an email address or somewhere to send more, because I took more than 3 times the amount I can use on an eBay listing.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue

Tue, 28 May 2013

We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.

Chip Ganassi Racing switches to the Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley Daytona Prototype

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway).
"Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program."
In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.
