I am listing this beautiful 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 for a for a friend. This car has gone thru a frame up restoration, and anyone would be proud to show this car. It runs and drives like a new period correct car. This Fairlane was an original 260 v8 car. It now has a professionally rebuilt 289 4bbl that sounds amazing thru its fully aluminized exhaust system. This car turns heads and gets thumbs up everywhere you go. It is hard to find an original Fairlane 500 that hasn't been cloned to another Thunderbolt car. Everything on the car works like it should. Here are some highlights:

  • ·       Professionally Rebuilt 289 W/ New Edelbrock 500 cfm Carb on new Aluminum Intake

  • ·       New Dual Exhaust w/ Flowmasters and H pipe

  • ·       New Pertronix Distributor W/ New Pertronix 8MM Wires and Coil

Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.

Hear the 2015 Mustang GT V8 roar for the first time

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

Our combined knowledge of the 2015 Ford Mustang continues to deepen, as spy shooters have begun to compile video and audio of the upcoming sixth-generation car.
Case in point is this latest series of video clips, which not only gives us a great vantage point of the Mustang in motion, but also allows us to hear the Ford V8 engine and exhaust. After perusing the aural delights of this short video, which, admittedly, doesn't catch the Mustang GT at full song, we can at least say that the throaty exhaust isn't disappointing.
Chances are good that the 2015 Mustang GT will debut with some version of the current (and excellent) Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, though we're unclear as to whether or not the motor has been massaged for its next-gen debut, or what may have been done to exhaust plumbing. At this point, we're just happy to hear the pony run. Scroll below to hear for yourself.

Ford lowers MPG ratings on six vehicles

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Ford has announced that it will be lowering the fuel economy ratings on a number of its 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles after an error was discovered in the company's internal testing data. The EPA has been notified.
Worryingly for Ford, the vast majority of the vehicles affected are hybrids, including the C-Max, Fusion and MKZ in both hybrid and plug-in varieties (where applicable). Also covered as part of the rerating is the entire lineup of 2014 Fiesta engines, with the exception of the ST, including the turbocharged, three-cylinder EcoBoost.
The C-Max was originally rated at 47/47/47 mpg, but dropped to 43/45/40 last year and now to 40/42/37.
