1964 Ford Fairlane 500 2DHT - 289 2 barrel. Motor does not run but with a little work, I think you can get it up and running, motor spins over freely. Has Cruise-O-Matic tranny.

The Fairlane 500 has it's original Burgundy paint. The body is fairly straight. The hood has a little rust at the inner edge of the front lip. The drivers side fender down low has a rust hole. The drivers side rocker and door looks ok. The rear drivers Quarter down low in front of the rear tire has a rust hole. The passenger rear Quarter looks pretty good, has a small dent behind the rear tire. Both of the quarters lip edges are starting to rust a little. The passenger door and rocker looks ok, the front fender down low has a small rust hole. The floors have rust holes, so they will need to be patch or replaced. The trunk down low has rust holes, the upper part of the trunk and wheel tubs look good, the trunk lid looks ok. The roof and around the front and rear glass looks ok.

The original Black interior is pretty much all there but it needs a complete interior kit.

All the original stainless and extra original parts are all in ok shape and posted in the detailed pictures.

The original Vin # and door tag is still on the car along with the original motor tag.

This is a great project to restore, very popular year and on top of that being a TWO DOOR HARDTOP. Great car to make a Thunderbolt, Old Gasser, Prostreet, Pro tour or back to all original, your choice.

This 1964 Fairlane 2DHT is pretty much all original and complete, been sitting in storage for many years.

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study

Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."

Fallon picks Ford F-150 King Ranch, launches dealership contest

New truck! Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show has been searching for the perfect new truck for a few weeks now, soliciting help from all corners in the process. Last night, Fallon made the announcement that the Ford F-150 King Ranch - in all of its cowboy glory - had been picked as his big winner.
To add some more spice to a storyline that now dips deeply into the realm of the advertorial, Fallon also announced a contest to see which Ford dealership would get the privilege of selling him the King Ranch. Dubbed "Fingers on a 4x4" The Tonight Show has invited 10 dealer reps from around the country to keep their hands on Jimmy's F-150 for as long as possible. Last salesperson standing wins.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost

Earlier this week, Ford invited us to Charlotte, NC, to ride in an all-new 2015 Mustang fitted with its turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the first forced-induction, four-cylinder ponycar for the Blue Oval since the sun set on the 1986 Mustang SVO. We jumped at the opportunity, as only a handful of people have ever been in the passenger seat of this new car, and most automotive media won't get as close as we did until this fall.
As we revealed in our Deep Dive, Ford will slot this new turbocharged four as premium powerplant between its naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. At last mention, the automaker said the direct-injected, all-aluminum engine will develop 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, returning the best fuel economy of the three powerplants in the process. History buffs will note that those figures are appreciably stouter than the 200 horses and 240 lb-ft that the '86 SVO realized out of the same displacement, and the latter's figures were hugely impressive at the time. On paper, the new EcoBoost four looks to be a good fit for most owners who want to balance performance with efficiency - we were eager to see how it felt from the passenger seat.
