As much as I'd LOVE to keep her, I think it's time to let my gorgeous 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 go. I bought this mild custom completely restored, with visions of weekend cruises, showing it off at shows and generally driving it around proudly, but the reality is, 3 years later, it's seen maybe 100 road miles and the underside of a car cover in a private garage. I'm the 3rd owner I believe (owner before me bought it restored, and sold to me due to growing family. It's been in Maryland as far back as all owners recall.) It truly deserves more, so instead of paying to insure and store, it should go to someone that will take her out on sunny days, and proudly show her off like I did on those few rides.
Really- nothing mechanical wrong with it- I love this car- it was restored incredibly, and turns heads every time it's driven- awesome rumble, too....You'd be hard pressed to find one cleaner- with just enough potential to customize further on your own (I wanted to get the original stereo working again, and disc brakes for instance.) Receipts for all of previous owners work- they did all of it. Just under 77,000 miles (though no indication how many are on this newer 302 engine.)

Ford's last year with tail fins- Raven Black exterior with gold, cream interior (factory colors) and beautiful, Cragar SS wheels...It ALWAYS turns heads and gets compliments.

Meet the Greenest and Meanest vehicles of 2016

If you've been keeping track, you won't be surprised with the number one entry in this year's list of greenest cars from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). In fact, the top three spots on the 2016 list are all the same as they were in 2015. After that, things get interesting. For one thing, this is the first Greenest list that doesn't have any purely internal combustion engine powertrain on it. Hybrids, yes, but if you want to be one of the top 12 greenest cars this year, you'd better have some sort of electric angle. ACEEE says that the conventional, gas-powered Smart Fortwo and Chevrolet Spark just missed the cut. In a statement, ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan said, "The 2016 scores are in, and plug-in electric vehicles are outpacing all other vehicle offerings in terms of environmental friendliness." Like last year, one of the noticeable vehicles missing from the green list is the Tesla Model S. One reason? ACEEE takes curb weight into account (lighter is better), and the Model S is a heavy beast. The ACEEE doesn't just look at the clean side of the ledger. It also puts out a "meanest" list. These are the vehicles that pollute the most, not only from their tailpipes, but also any pollution created during the entire manufacturing process, from mining the raw materials to the energy used to produce the vehicle at the factory. At 50 years old, the object of fantasies, a tuner's dream, a movie star and more than nine million strong, it couldn't be truer to say that the Ford Mustang needs no introduction. The news keeps pouring in from the Consumer Electronics Show now underway in Las Vegas, and the latest comes from Ford which has announced two new apps for its Sync AppLink system.
First up is a cooperative app launched by Ford together with Domino's Pizza that lets drivers of the former order pizza from the latter right from their car. The service allows those with Ford Sync AppLink in their car or truck and are registered with a Domino's Pizza Profile to place an order for their favorite pie using Dearborn's voice-recognition software for either pickup or delivery. Save your information in your Pizza Profile and it'll be sent to your house without even the push of a button, which strikes us as awesome a use of technology as we've ever seen.
