Very low reserve price!

You are looking at a very nicely restored 1959 Ford Fairlane 2 door police car.  The restoration was completed 6 months ago and less than 250 miles are on the car post restoration.  This car would have been a captain or detectives car since it only has the 2 doors.  The pictures speak for themselves and I am 100% sure you will be happy with this car.  During the restoration, we left both the rear and front windows in place as we did not want to break them as they are very expensive to replace.  The original window seals are still in place on both those windows.

Everything except the radio and clock work on this car.  All the lights and turn signals are good, you will even be able to shoot flames out of the pipes with the added fire system that is installed.  There are no door locks installed on the car but the holes are have plugs in them for looks.  We have 5 lap belts that are installed so the whole family will be able to enjoy the experience.  The gumball light and old fashioned siren do work as well.

Motor ($3,200) - We installed a crate Ford 302 motor that has a mild cam.  You will see pictures of the motor on the stand and installed into the car.

Transmission ($1,200) - A Ford C4 automatic stock transmission was purchased from Transmission Depot for the project and shifts great.

Tires, brakes and brake line ($1,800) - All replaced

Gas tank, sending unit, & gas llines ($2,000) - All replaced

Interior ($3,000) - The interior is all restored and in very nice condtiion with no rips or tears.  The gas pedal is missing as we couldn't find a stock replacement.  The carpet has w whole in drivers area where the old shifter was installed.

Sheet metal and paint ($6,000)  The sheet metal and paint are in great condition, I am not aware of any scratches or dents.  The floors are all solid..

The police stickers are decals that were made and can be easliy moved if you decide you don't like them.

This car is being sold as is with no warranty.

The buyer is 100% responsible for pick up.

The reserve price is set well below the cash that has been invested in this car.

The title is a clean Florida title that is in my name and reads that the car is a 1957.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to call or text me (Brian) at 239-898-3730

I do not need any help in selling this car, if you are trying to solicit business to help me sell it, please don't call me.  I am also aware of all the scams out there, I will not respond to scammers.

The car is also listed locally for sale, I reserve the right to cancel any bids or end the auction early.

Martin Smith retires, Joel Piaskowski in as Ford Europe design chief

Thu, 29 May 2014

The mind behind the look of much of the modern Ford global range is retiring. Martin Smith, Head of Ford Design in Europe, will give up his position on July 1 and will leave the company altogether at the end of the year. He will be replaced by current Strategic Concepts Group leader Joel Piaskowski (pictured above).
Smith has led Ford of Europe design for the past 10 years, and he was partially responsible for the brand's Kinetic Design language with a large grille and swept-back headlights found on the Focus, Fiesta and C-Max, as well as several other vehicles abroad. After stepping down on July 1 until his retirement at the end of 2014, Smith will work on a project to decide the future direction of the company's look with Moray Callum, its vice president of design.
Piaskowski already has some impressive credentials in terms of automotive design as well. He joined Ford in 2010 as director of exterior design and led the teams responsible for the 2015 Ford Mustang and next-generation F-150. He was also previously design director at Ford Asia Pacific. Before working at the Blue Oval, Piaskowski held positions at Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and General Motors. Scroll down to read the complete announcement of this changing of the guard.

The next steps automakers could take after sales drop again in April

Tue, May 2 2017

DETROIT (Reuters) - Major automakers on Tuesday posted declines in U.S. new vehicle sales for April in a sign the long boom cycle that lifted the American auto industry to record sales last year is losing steam, sending carmaker stocks down. The drop in sales versus April 2016 came on the heels of a disappointing March, which automakers had shrugged off as just a bad month. But two straight weak months has heightened Wall Street worries the cyclical industry is on a downward swing after a nearly uninterrupted boom since the Great Recession's end in 2010. Auto sales were a drag on U.S. first-quarter gross domestic product, with the economy growing at an annual rate of just 0.7 percent according to an advance estimate published by the Commerce Department last Friday. Excluding the auto sector the GDP growth rate would have been 1.2 percent. Industry consultant Autodata put the industry's seasonally adjusted annualized rate of sales at 16.88 million units for April, below the average of 17.2 million units predicted by analysts polled by Reuters. General Motors Co shares fell 2.9 percent while Ford Motor Co slid 4.3 percent and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's U.S.-traded shares tumbled 4.2 percent. The U.S. auto industry faces multiple challenges. Sales are slipping and vehicle inventory levels have risen even as carmakers have hiked discounts to lure customers. A flood of used vehicles from the boom cycle are increasingly competing with new cars. The question for automakers: How much and for how long to curtail production this summer, which will result in worker layoffs? To bring down stocks of unsold vehicles, the Detroit automakers need to cut production, and offer more discounts without creating "an incentives war," said Mark Wakefield, head of the North American automotive practice for AlixPartners in Southfield, Michigan. "We see multiple weeks (of production) being taken out on the car side," he said, "and some softness on the truck side." Rival automakers will be watching each other to see if one is cutting prices to gain market share from another, he said, instead of just clearing inventory. INVESTORS DIGEST BAD NEWS Just last week GM reported a record first-quarter profit, but that had almost zero impact on the automaker's stock. The iconic carmaker, whose own interest was once conflated with that of America's, has slipped behind luxury carmaker Tesla Inc in terms of valuation.

Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
