1957 Ford Failane 2DR. Club Sedan

Car has been sitting for several years. it is in need of a full restoration.

runs & drives, repaired brakes. 292 ? engine w/3spd manual trans. Clutch doesn't slip & and trans shifts good and is quiet.

Engine runs good, hits on all cyl. Not positive it is a 292, could be a 312, not sure so selling as 292

Body is solid, has rusty floors that have been repaired, but not a fancy job, but ok.

No rust around headlights or rear qtrs. Doors fit nicely and show no rust on bottoms or jams. Windows roll up &down ok.

Front and back glass are not cracked, side glass will need to be replaced, have cracks and fogging

Trunk floor is ok, has had some repair by gas filler pipe, & spare tire well, center is ok

Dog legs on the sides of the trunk are good, not rusty, not been replaced

Seat sits good, but will need to be recovered.

Dash potmetal is pitted.

Has power steering

Chrome trim on sides is ok, needs polished, not perfect, but not beat up either. Bumpers will need rechroming but are not bent up.

Good car to restore, ratrod etc.

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.

NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors

Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.
