I found this car in a barn in 2003 where the vehicle sat for 25 years. After getting the car home, I decided to do a frame off restoration. After working on this vehicle for many years my health has changed and I am unable to finish this car the way I would like to. I am looking for a buyer who will finish and enjoy the car. The car is 80% done. If you love '57 Fords you will love this one!

What has been done to this vehicle is as follows:
1974 Torino Rebilt 351, 4 barrel Windsor Motor
C6 Automatic Transmission
New springs, shocks, wheel cylinders, brake & gas lines, brake hoses front and back
Master cylinder with dual reservoir out of '67 Mustang
356 Tail Gears
Original gas tank, has been checked over like new
New exhaust front to back
Switched from generator to alternator
Frame completely disassembled, all new bushings on front and back, new body mounts
New rocker panels and 2 new lower quarters
2 California front fenders
Lowered car 4" in front - needs front end alignment

Doors, underneath hood, trunk have been stripped and painted. New seals around trunk and doors.

Inner fenders, core support, bumper braces, trim around windshield and doors, taillight housing, headlight rings have all been powder coated.

Side door glass and vent windows out on both sides of car, have windows and new track.

Where spare time goes in trunk no rust. Had to put in 2" x 4" patches where body mounts are.  Also 2 patches 2" x 5" where driver put his
feet.

Floor pan is solid from front to back, original drain holes.

All wiring hooked up except parking lights.

Car is pretty much done - runs and drives!

Car needs new interior, front end alignment, blocked, little filler and painted.

Have all the chrome which has been polished and straightened. I also have the inlaid gold.

Extra items:  2 grills, 2 parking lights with new lenses and gaskets, 2 back bumpers and front bumper.

If you have any questions regarding this vehicle - call Ray at (608) 467-7820 or (608) 712-7444.

2015 Ford F-150 spied in the rain

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Standing as quite a contrast from the spy shots of the 2015 Ford Mustang we saw earlier today, our spies also sent along these pictures of the next-generation F-150 pickup out testing in its (heavily camouflaged) full prototype body. Much of the new truck's design is hidden under the bulky coveralls, but we expect a lot of its new lines to be inspired by the Atlas concept that debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Perhaps the biggest unknown surrounding the new F-150 is what, exactly, its body will be made of. Earlier reports have suggested that lightweight aluminum materials may be used throughout, offering a serious reduction in weight versus previous models. But Ford engineers will need to be careful, though, as they need to keep a tight rein on costs while preserving class-competitive (if not class-leading) towing and payload capacity.
On the powertrain front, the new F-150 will undoubtedly carry on with EcoBoost engines, and we'd bet on a normally aspirated V8 as well. A diesel option hasn't been confirmed, but we wouldn't be surprised to see one some time in the truck's lifecycle. Mum's the word on when the production F-150 will be revealed, but our best guess is that we'll see it at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.

2016 Ford Mustang SVT hides big power under its domed hood

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

With a number of 2015 Ford Mustang versions finally available to configure, the fun of speculating about next year's high-performance 'Stang can now begin. It looks like Ford has something seriously fun planned too. One of our spy photographers just snapped some fresh pics of the 2016 Mustang SVT, which is believed to be hiding the final body shape under all of that heavy camouflage.
Ford clearly doesn't want prying eyes looking at its new pride and joy. It would be hard to put much more obfuscation on a car than this one wears - it even has mesh baffles around the exhausts to conceal how many there are and panels over the wheels to hide their design. However, the Blue Oval can't keep everything a secret. The biggest clue that something special is hidden underneath is the massive hood bulge and vent in front of it. Clearly, whatever is under there is hungry for cool air. The shape of the camo indicates that there may be fender vents on each side, and there are also obscured outlets behind the front wheels likely to pull cool air through the brakes. At the rear, the concealment does its job, making it hard to observe any big changes. The fact that Ford wants it kept such a secret might indicate something, though.
A few photos of the interior show far less cover than the outside. You can easily make out the model's 6,500 rpm redline with a possible 7,000 rpm over-rev function. The big Recaro sport seats also look quite supportive.
