I’ve got a great truck for sale here that will make someone very proud to own.  This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION.  The last bidder will own the truck, without exception.  It’s a 2008 Ford F-450 King Ranch with the 6.4 Powerstroke diesel.  The truck is a 4x4 and has just about everything you can put on one.  It’s only got 97k miles on it, so it’s got a lot of life left in it.  Whoever had this truck took care of it very well and it shows.  It runs and drives down the road like a new one and does everything it’s supposed to.  It is loaded up with heated leather, MP3 CD changer, power seats, power mirrors, back up reverse camera, cruise, air, and anything else you can possibly think of!

The outside of the truck is in great shape with no rust.  It’s hardly got a scratch in it.  The paint is as shiny as they come and could pass for a 30k mile truck easy.  The body panels are straight and match up well with no goofy gaps anywhere, and I cannot find any paint or bodywork on it anywhere.  The only thing worth mentioning is the tailgate has a small dent around the handle and a small one in the rear bumper.  Neither one take away from the looks of the truck, but I don’t like surprises and figured they were worth mentioning (and taking pictures of!).

The interior of the truck still looks new with the cowhide seats and tan carpets.  These King Ranch seats wear out quickly if you don’t take care of them, but whoever owned this one must have conditioned and cleaned them regularly, they look great.  There are NO RIPS, tears, or burns anywhere.  As with any used truck, you can tell they have been sat in, but they look VERY nice.  The carpets and headliner are in great shape with no stains or odors.  The truck still smells new inside.

The drivetrain of this F450 is in fantastic shape.  It starts in the coldest of weather without missing a beat, doesn't smoke, doesn't stink, and sounds great.  The engine is all stock with no programmers or deletes done, it is 100% ready to go.  The transmission shifts great, doesn’t slip or shift hard, and pulls great.  The 4x4 locks right in and works great as well.  We just put a BRAND NEW set of tires on it, so they should last you another 100k!  The wheels have some typical pitting in them, but clean up great and make it look a lot tougher than an F350! The brakes feel great and stop straight as well with no pulling or pulsing.

I cannot stress enough how nice this truck really is.  The pictures really don’t do it justice.  It turns heads wherever it goes, and is one of the nicest trucks I have had in a long time.  It runs well, drives well, pulls well, and does EVERYTHING it’s asked to do.  I wouldn’t hesitate to jump in this truck and drive across the country with a loaded trailer behind it.  It doesn't have a gooseneck or fifth wheel in it either, so i can only assume that it’s never pulled a big trailer.  It hasn’t been abused, and should serve the next owner very well for a long time.

If you have any questions feel free to call me 317.260.9235 or email me any time.  We have been in business for over 30 years and we stand by our vehicles.  If you get here and decide you don’t like the truck, for whatever reason, you don’t have to buy it.  I try to describe them to the best of my abilities and personally drive every vehicle to make sure I know what I’m talking about.  Our feedback speaks for itself.  Please keep in mind that you are buying a 97k mile truck built in 2008 and it has been used.  It is NOT a 2014 with 1000 miles.  It may have a rock chip, ding, or scratch here or there…but if I saw it, it got put in the ad and a picture was taken.  I try to be as detailed as possible so there are no surprises.  I would be more than willing to pick you up from an airport or help in any way possible, but shipping will be up to the buyer.  Please remember that this is a NO RESERVE auction, the last bidder will own the truck.  I will not sell it outside of ebay, so please don’t ask.  If you’d like to take a look at it before bidding on it, feel free to call me and set up a time.  Have a great day and HAPPY BIDDING!

Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017

Sun, 15 Dec 2013

Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.

Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set

Tue, Jul 19 2022

Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, hence  the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950s and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with the American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.

Ford C-Max spot aimed squarely at Cadillac ELR 'Poolside' hubris [UPDATE]

Thu, Mar 27 2014

If we had tried to predict the first video response to the controversial Poolside video for the Cadillac ELR, we would not have thought it would center on compost. But, hey, it's always nice to be reminded that the real world is sometimes better than fiction. Instead of the chic swagger of 'Poolside,' 'Anything Is Possible' is all about getting dirty. The new short in question is called Upside: Anything Is Possible and it promotes two things: Detroit Dirt and the Ford C-Max Energi. As in the ELR ad, Ford's plug-in C-Max only makes an appearance at the tail end of the spot, but instead of the chic swagger of Poolside, Anything Is Possible is all about getting dirty. The ad stars Pashon Murray, co-founder of Detroit Dirt, which takes natural waste from around Detroit, composts it into soil and then spreads that around "forgotten parcels" of Detroit to create urban farms. Detroit Dirt gets its bio-waste from a lot of sources, including the Detroit Zoological Society (all that herbivore manure has to go somewhere), Ford and General Motors, but this particular ad was the idea of Ford's PR agency, Team Detroit. It was a frenetic shoot, filmed with an LA-based director right after a big winter storm blew through Detroit, and Murray couldn't be happier with the result. "This was Ford Motor Company pushing my story, letting me tell the story that I believe in," Murray tells AutoblogGreen. "I get to help push this car and I get to tell my story." She says that the Team Detroit and Ford had to agree on the message, "from my understanding, [YouTube] is where they wanted to start, not where they wanted to finish." The ad is already getting a positive response on Twitter, so we won't be surprised if it shows up in more places soon. "It's not saying Ford is better than GM. It's telling the story of a black woman who's working hard in Detroit." As Detroit Dirt has off-screen support from both GM and Ford, it's unsurprising to hear Murray say that the video "is not a rivalry thing." She notes that the ad agency Team Detroit came to her and offered to tell the Detroit Dirt story using the framework of the GM ad. "It's a parody on this commercial, but it's not saying Ford is better than GM," she said. "It's telling the story of a black woman who's working hard in Detroit." What is that story? It's about urban farming, recovery and recycling. Murray tells us that for the last seven or eight years, she's been dedicated to sustainability.
