We have for sale a 01 Ford F450 4x4 Bucket Truck with a 7.3 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel with an automatic transmission. It has floor shift 4 wheel drive. Rubber floors, vinyl seat, manual windows and locks. The truck is in pretty good shape for the miles and year, please keep in mind this is a work truck. The truck has good tires all the way around. In the last 100 miles it has had a service with filters changed and 2 new Interstate 1000CCA batteries. Runs out good and drives pretty decent I think the rear tires need re-balanced as it has a little bit of a shake around 60MPH. Transmission shifts good and strong and the motor has plenty of power. It has some residue on the doors where the previous owner had vinyl lettering on it and it has some scratches and dings. A/C needs charged I would say. The truck does have a few small leaks nothing I would worry about. It will be needing glow plugs or a glow plug relay soon, we just leave it plugged in and it always fires right up The battery light comes and goes I think it may be in the sending unit the truck has never failed to start.

The boom is an Altec brand, I believe it is 38 foot. Everything on the boom, hydraulics and PTO work as they should. The fiberglass around the boom controls is cracked in a few places, doesn't effect the operation it is purely cosmetic. The utility bed is in good shape with a lot of storage. We do have the manual and paperwork on the bucket/boom and hydraulic assembly. The PTO is a Chelsea brand it has a rocker switch to activate it and also a trans temp gauge with it. This is a good working truck could use a little cleaning up and tlc but we use it the way it sits with no problems. I have tried to be as honest as possible in the description but if you have any questions call or text 417-372-0691 and I will be happy answer any questions for you. Mileage may change as we still work the truck from time to time.

Ford brings FPV Falcon production in house [w/video]

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

For the first time since 1976, Ford of Australia is bringing the assembly of its stonking Ford Performance Vehicle line back in-house to the company's Broadmeadows and Geelong facilities. That's a point of pride for FPV, which builds high-performance versions of the Australian Falcon model like the F6, GS and the heroic GT seen here.
In the video below, we hear FPV employees talking in hushed tones about the important legacy that cars like the GT have for Australian gearheads of all stripes, and how proud they are to say that hand-built machines like this GT R-Spec with its Boss 355 engine are now rolling out of their home base. For our part, we're just dying to drive this version of the Coyote V8; the engine is rocking a "Miami" supercharger from Harrop and makes some 450 horsepower.
Continue on below for the video, or you can check out some images of the new FPV at the facility, as well as a gallery of the GT R-Spec car.

National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
