The good:
Awesome running 1993 Ford F350. It has the turbo charged 7.3 liter diesel motor. As you may well know, its not uncommon to get upwards of 400k out of these motors. Slides really smooth through every gear, and a crazy amount of pull through each. Has a hitch on the front and rear, power windows, power locks and original radio, CB radio, and trailer brake/rear hookup that all work. The AC is still ice-cold! Fleet maintained, never had a heavy load seeing has not been outfitted with a gooseneck, would cost couple hundred bucks to get one installed, but peace of mind knowing it hasn't been heavily loaded. Already has ladder rack mounts connected to the frame. The paint is fading a little on the wheel wells, but whatever, its a sweeeeet truck.
The bad: Needs a new front right tire to pass inspection. You still have a month, however it should be replaced anyways. Why am I not replacing it? Because I'm listing it cheap and you can put whatever tires you want on it! Why don't I clean it up? Because its a truck thats currently being used every day and I don't want to spend money on it only to ruin all that detailing.
As any dually driver knows occasionally you cut a corner too close and slide the protruding wheel well against whatever is close to it. In this case it was a mailbox. It didn't cause any structural damage, but it cracked the fender, which was fixed, quite solidly, except wasn't painted..see picture. This is why the running board section on the passenger side doesn't run all the way, I never even noticed until I was looking at the pics I posted. There also is a little indicator on the dash that says "Ready to start" when you run your glow plugs long enough. The little panel its on is loose, still works perfectly fine, but is just sitting there. A crafty person could fix this with some super glue or something. I am not crafty, therefore it stays as it is.

I am selling this for locally online and in the paper, therefore reserve the right to pull the listing before its closing date if sold locally. It is listed in the paper for 7k. Honestly if someone gets close to that locally I will sell it.

I am selling this for a friend who has fallen on hard times, I haven't made any effort to clean it whatsoever, this is it at its worst! I have been using it every day for a demo job over 40 miles a day, running like a bat outta hell.It is not a show piece, there is minor surface rust here and there, paint fading here and there, but overall looks fantastic. Timeless awesome Ford. If someone dropped the $500 bucks for a paint job, it would be an incredible looking rig.

National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.

Again? Ford issues second 2015 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ seat belt recall

Fri, Aug 16 2019

In 2016, Ford issued a recall for 603,392 2013-2016 Fusions and 2013-2015 Lincoln MKZs due to potentially faulty seat belts. Apparently, that wasn't the end of it. Ford announced another recall this week for the same issue, this time covering 108,399 2015 Fusions and MKZs.  In both cases, the seat belt anchor pretensioners are the issue. According to Ford, "increased temperatures generated during deployment of the driver or front-passenger seat belt anchor pretensioner could degrade the tensile strength of the cable below the level needed to restrain an occupant." Basically, heat could weaken the seat belts, and in extreme cases, they wouldn't be able to keep up proper safety standards. Ford knows of at least one injury that has occurred due to this issue.   The recall includes 103,374 vehicles in the United States, 4,002 in Canada, and 1,023 in Mexico. Possibly affected Fusions were built at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant between August 1, 2014 and January 30, 2015. The MKZs were built at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant between August 1, 2014 and November 21, 2014.  As a fix, Ford says dealers will add an extra coating to the seat belt pretensioner cable for protection from the heat. If this recall might affect your vehicle, call your local Ford dealership and use recall reference No. 19S25. This news comes after Ford recalled 1.3 million Fusions and MKZs in 2018 due to the possibility that the steering wheels could fall off. Fusions have also been recalled due to the risk of rolling away.

2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.
