2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty Ex-Cab.......
This is a nice 4x4 F-350. It has the 6.0L diesel that the previous owner had the EGR delete and injectors done prior to me buying it. It's an automatic transmission that changes as it should, it has just changed to 115k miles and will continue to change as I drive it. It has a factory cd radio, cold a/c, hot heat, power mirrors, power tinted windows, power locks, keyless entry, ex cab doors on both sides, brand new 285/75/16 tires, chrome factory wheels, spray in bedliner, sliding rear window, nice cloth seats, but could use a little cleaning, good carpet, all interior & exterior lights work, extended mirrors, tow hitch with round & flat trailer plug hook ups, the batteries crank the truck with no problems, the truck may have a leveling kit under the front but not positive. The truck has an awesome stance and sits up like a F-350 should. The bottom of the bed has been used and is a little wavy but you should be able to see it in the photo. The truck runs & drives good but has a little play in the wheel. Factory manuals in the dash. The truck is RUST FREE and clean. The paint looks good with a fresh wax job but does have a few scratches and a few dings( normal wear for the year-see photos). I bought the truck to haul commercially but now realize I have to have a long bed. I love this truck and it gets alot of attention. I have replaced a turbo hose $85 & tires $800 and thats all that I have done except drive it. It may need rear brake pads on the left rear soon and a service soon. The pictures say it all, this is a nice truck and will sell for a GREAT deal. I just need to get my money back and get a long bed truck bought(no trades). It has a clear South Carolina title and is in hand. I have described it to the best of my ability but if I have not answered your questions please feel free to call (864)915-6437 Chad. If I don't answer leave a message and I will call you back asap. If you have a low or no score don't bid please. I have a low reserve for this truck. A $500 deposit is required 24hr after auction end for the winner. The remainder will be paid in cash or cashiers check prior to picking up the truck. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. The truck has no major leaks or problems so please bid with confidence. The truck is a short wheel base. It also needs the tailgate cap as seen in picture($65). Thank you for looking and good luck!

Recharge Wrap-up: Ford HQ gets giant solar array, Chevy City Express gets 24 MPG city
Sat, Aug 16 2014Ford will be building Michigan's largest solar array at its Dearborn headquarters. With funding from DTE Energy, the solar carport will provide covered parking, as well 30 charging stations for electric vehicles. The array is expected to generate 1.13 million kWh per year for Ford's operations, and offset 794 metric tons of carbon emissions. Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet announced the fuel economy for the 2015 City Express, at 25 mpg combined. The cargo van is rated at 24 mpg in the city, and 26 mpg on the highway. Chevy credits the van's inline four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission for its impressive city mileage. For its customers - which are mainly businesses - "The fuel economy of the City Express will help stretch their dollar at the pump and give them the flexibility to invest the savings back into their business," says Chevrolet's Ed Peper. The City Express starts at $22,950. Read more in the press release below. Engineers at the University of Wisconsin have developed an efficient engine that runs on a diesel-gas blend. The engine, which uses a computer to control the blend proportions, is about 15 percent more efficient than the any diesel engine according to mechanical engineering professor Rolf Reitz. The team has put the experimental reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) engine in a demonstration car - a 2009 Saturn. "This vehicle can do 50 miles per gallon," says Reitz, who believes the system could be improved further. Read more at Wisconsin Public Radio. The Southeast Alternative Fuel Conference and Expo will take place in October in Raleigh, North Carolina. Held at the NC Clean Energy Technology Center from October 22-24, the event will feature a variety of exhibitors, speakers and, most importantly, alternatively powered vehicles. "The three day conference will be a one-stop shop for fleet and transportation related decision makers to learn about return on investment, efficiency and alternative transportation fuels such as biodiesel, electricity, ethanol, propane and natural gas," says Anne Tazewell of the NC Clean Energy Technology Center. If you can't make it to Raleigh for the Expo, you can still enter to win a free two-year lease of a Nissan Leaf at the Center's website. Learn more about the event in the press release, below.
Martin Smith retires, Joel Piaskowski in as Ford Europe design chief
Thu, 29 May 2014The mind behind the look of much of the modern Ford global range is retiring. Martin Smith, Head of Ford Design in Europe, will give up his position on July 1 and will leave the company altogether at the end of the year. He will be replaced by current Strategic Concepts Group leader Joel Piaskowski (pictured above).
Smith has led Ford of Europe design for the past 10 years, and he was partially responsible for the brand's Kinetic Design language with a large grille and swept-back headlights found on the Focus, Fiesta and C-Max, as well as several other vehicles abroad. After stepping down on July 1 until his retirement at the end of 2014, Smith will work on a project to decide the future direction of the company's look with Moray Callum, its vice president of design.
Piaskowski already has some impressive credentials in terms of automotive design as well. He joined Ford in 2010 as director of exterior design and led the teams responsible for the 2015 Ford Mustang and next-generation F-150. He was also previously design director at Ford Asia Pacific. Before working at the Blue Oval, Piaskowski held positions at Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and General Motors. Scroll down to read the complete announcement of this changing of the guard.
The fascinating forgotten civil defense history of Mister Softee trucks
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Hemmings came across an interesting article from the Throwin' Wrenches blog about the intersection of ice cream, cars and civic duty in America's late 1950s. In particular, it focuses on the Mister Softee trucks, which criss-crossed neighborhoods of the eastern US serving ice cream. Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. Click over to Throwin' Wrenches for the full run down of how Mister Softee would have stepped in to help fight if the Cold War ever turned a little hotter.
