1995 FORD F350
UTILITY TRUCK / SERVICE BODY

This auction is for a 1995 Ford F-350 with a 12 foot Knapheide utility box. Truck is a 7.3l Powerstroke Turbo Diesel with a 5 speed manual transmission. Engine runs out strong just the way you would expect from the Powerstrokes and transmission holds all gears. Truck is white with a grey interior. Truck was once owned by the fire department and the paint has faded where their lettering once was as you can see in the pictures. Has some scratches as could be expected for its year. No rust are major damage to the trucks body at all. Has wide truck mirrors for visibility around box. Creature comforts include Ice Cold Air, stereo, cloth seat with fold down center storage and cup holders, map light, and rubber floor mat for easy clean up. Manual windows. Utility box was manufactured by Knapheide and is 12 foot long with eight lockable boxes. We added a gang box in the center, just because we had one. Tool box locks will have to be keyed as we didn't receive keys with the unit. There is a rust hole in the center of the box (not huge, not small) due to the fire department carrying a water tank there, hence the plywood. One small hole in front drivers tool box as seen in picture. Brakes stop well with no pulling. Steering is true, you can let go of wheel and it will track straight, was driven on caliche roads so front tires need to be shaved they have a little shimmer to them. Rear tires are new Buckshot mud grips and still have the nipples on them. No oil leaks of any kind. The only problem this truck has we can address in two different ways. Its starting to need a clutch and flywheel, grinds going into reverse and second. You can save money by doing it yourself or we can do it for you for 1000. dollars over the selling price (includes parts and labor), just let us know your intentions at the end of the auction.  This truck is being sold as is no warranty written or implied. We will drive this truck to you for 2.dollars per mile or if you fly into the San Antonio airport we will be happy to pick you up and bring you here. There is a 250. deposit due through Pay Pal upon completion of auction balance must be paid within 48 hours by cash, wire transfer or credit card. I can hold the truck on my premises for 30 days after auction if you need more time for picking it up, but it must be paid for within 48 hours of auction end. I'm starting this auction for what we have in the unit, our profit is up to the bidders. If you have a feedback score of less than 10 please contact us before bidding or your bid could be canceled. This truck is for sale local and auction is subject to end early if starting price is not met. If you have any questions please

Motor Trend pits Subaru WRX vs. Ford Focus ST

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

The Ford Focus ST has enjoyed a relatively calm, if brief, reign in the world of hot hatches. With nothing else in the class (in the States, at least) but the aging Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru Impreza WRX and the slow-selling Volkswagen Golf R, the Blue Oval's 252-horsepower five door has been the go-to vehicle for those that don't need the high-octane lunacy (and expense) of the rally bred Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Now, though, as the new Subaru WRX (it's not an Impreza anymore, though, neither is it a hatchback...) starts to arrive at dealers, the Focus ST appears to be under threat for the first time. Naturally, Motor Trend is here to figure out which one is the best, with another one of its Head 2 Head videos. Host Jonny Lieberman puts both cars through their paces, going above and beyond, quite literally, at the very end of the video.

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.

Junkyard Gem: 1993 Mercury Topaz GS Sedan

Sat, Aug 13 2022

As long as the Mercury brand existed — a period spanning the 1939 through 2011 model years — nearly every Mercury sold in the United States was more or less a redecorated Ford model. The Torino had its Montego sibling, the Crown Victoria had the Grand Marquis, the Cougar was based on everything from the Mustang to the Mondeo, and so on. Naturally, when the folks in Dearborn developed the Ford Tempo compact, a Mercury version had to be created. This was the Topaz, with the official launch of both cars taking place on the deck of the aircraft carrier often referred to as the USS Decrepit. You can't make this stuff up! The Tempo/Topaz, also known as the Tempaz, has largely faded from our collective automotive memory by now, since it broke no significant new engineering or styling ground (this story would be much different if Ford had only put the amazing straight-eight "T-Drive" Tempaz powertrain into production) and didn't have any endearing features other than being a cheap domestic competitor to the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra. Still, close to 3 million Tempazes left North American Ford and Lincoln-Mercury showrooms during the 1984-1994 period. As you'd expect, most of these disposable cars disappeared from both the street and the car graveyard long ago. It takes a very special Tempaz for me to break out my camera while I'm patrolling my local wrecking yards; generally, this means an ultra-rare all-wheel-drive version or at least a very early model in super-clean condition. Today's Junkyard Gem is neither, but I took one look at this spectacular Bordello Red crypto-velour-and-slippery-plastic interior and recognized that this was no ordinary junkyard Mercury. It appears that Mercury had dropped the idea of clever names for base-grade seat fabrics by the time of the Topaz, referring to this stuff as just "cloth" in all the brochures I could find. That's too bad, because Mercurys had cool names for upholstery (e.g., Chromatex) in the old days. The interior is in very good condition but the steering wheel shows substantial wear, so I think this is a high-mile Topaz that got meticulous care from its owner or owners. Ford used five-digit odometers on these cars until the end of production, however, so we'll never know if this reading indicates 65,404 miles or 365,404 miles. The body is very straight, but there's some nasty corrosion behind the right front wheelwell.
