I have owned this truck since June of 2005. It has been used more as a car than anything else. It was my pride and joy for years. It has also been used as a trailer puller at times. It has not been used roughly. It has been adult, privately owned. It has pulled our 5th wheel trailer a couple of times each year for vacation. It has also been used to pull a cattle trailer a few times each year for church camps and mission trips. I am selling this truck because I am changing jobs and need to buy a small car that gets really good gas mileage, plus I have another one ton I can use to pull trailers with. It's just not as pretty. Considering it's age, this truck is in good condition. The interior only has a couple of blemishes, the driver's seat has a small tear on the left seat cushion where I get in and out. The volume knob does not work on the radio. The transmission is brand new and has a 12 month warranty. There is no tailgate with the truck. Since I primarily pulled gooseneck trailers, the tailgate got damaged. There is a dent in the passenger side rear door. I included a picture of this. I have included pictures of the truck with this add trying to show as much of the condition as I can. Please contact me with any questions. I am relisting this truck because the last guy that won the bidding was dishonest. First, he disappeared for a week after winning the bid. Next, he called me and had to pick up the vehicle the next day but he had his money ready. When he showed up he wanted to renegotiate the deal after I drove half way to Dallas to meet him. Let me say this as clearly as I can. If you want to play games or renegotiate the deal after winning the bid please waste someone else's time. I am not interested in renegotiating after a deal is done. A real man keeps his word. This is a good truck with 205,000 miles. I am only selling it because of a job change. If you have any questions concerning the truck please ask them prior to bidding. Once the bidding is finished I am through answering questions, except for driving directions for where we meet. Thanks for looking at and considering my vehicle.
The truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to close the auction if it sells locally. |

Ford Announces Free Brake-Pad Offer If Customers Stop By Dealers
Mon, Aug 4 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers. "We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts. Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1. "This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle," said Frederiek Toney, President of Ford Customer Service, in the company's announcement of the offer. Ford finds flex-fuel engine design plays big role in emissions output
Mon, Jan 6 2014How bad is ethanol for your engine? There's been a lot of debate on this issue as the US considers upping the biofuel content in the national gasoline supply from 10 percent (E10) to 15 percent (E15). The ethanol industry and some scientists say higher ethanol blends show no "meaningful differences" in new engines while the oil industry says ethanol creates health risks. Researchers working at the Ford Research and Innovation Center decided to take a closer look at how a wide range of gas-ethanol blends - E0, E10, E20, E30, E40, E55 and E80 - affected the emissions coming out of a flex-fuel 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis. To see the full report, printed in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, requires payment, but there is an abstract and Green Car Congress has some more details. The gist is that, "with increasing ethanol content in the fuel, the tailpipe emissions of ethanol, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, methane, and ammonia increased." At least NOx and NMHC emissions decreased. The researchers say that the effects are due to the fuel and "are expected for all FFVs," but that the way that a manufacturer calibrates the engine will affect NOx, THC, and NMOG emissions. It's this last bit that's important, since the researchers found, "Higher ethanol content in gasoline affects several fundamental fuel properties that can impact emissions. ... These changes can have positive or negative effects that can depend on engine design, hardware, and control strategy. In addition to direct emissions impacts, higher ethanol content fuel can also provide more efficient combustion and overall engine operation under part-load conditions and under knock-limited higher-load conditions." So, as we head towards more ethanol in our fuel supply (maybe), manufacturers are going to need to learn how to burn it most efficiently.
