2003 Ford F350 4x4 One Owner Super Low Miles on 2040-cars
Longwood, Florida, United States
I am selling my dads f350 4x4 that he bought new. It has 62k miles and is in perfect condition. It has been a Florida truck all its life. It is a 5.4 automatic with overdrive. It has been meticulously taken care of. It is truly like a new truck, tight, straight, and quiet. The interior is in perfect shape, no fading from the sun anywhere. You could eat off the carpets in this truck, still sporting the factory floor mats see photos. Every year the truck would get something new weather it needed it or not. The truck has had a Rancho spring upgrade, rear air bag assists added, front steering dual stabilizers, Accel coil packs, always synthetic oil changes including transmission, new tires 6 months ago, viper alarm system, chrome front bumper, chrome grille, upgraded exterior mirrors, tinted glass, box cover with rack system, stainless steel muffler, factory bed liner i'm sure I am forgetting stuff but a long list. The tires were replaced due to age, not worn out. The alignment was checked when tires were replaced and there were no adjustments done, straight and true from factory. The motor runs perfect, transmission shifts firm and solid, 4X4 engages smooth and effortlessly, ac blows cold. There are no oil leaks of any kind. When the truck was bought new it was all one color so with the purchase the original white bumper and grille will go with it. They are not damaged but do has some paint chips, dad liked the chrome better so they were replaced. The truck has never had any body damage, no accidents, no mechanical repairs just always maintained on or before the service was due. It will pull anything and look good doing it. Truck needs nothing and all services are done, could leave cross country tomorrow with no issues or worries. This truck has always been stored inside. It was not cleaned for these photos, that is the way this truck has always been kept. Feel free to call with any questions between 9AM - 9PM eastern time to 407-949-7097 If you want to fly in to Orlando International Airport or Sanford Airport I will be more than willing to pick you up so that you can drive it home. All funds need to clear prior to truck leaving. Deposit will be required with in 24 hrs after auction ends. Look at my feedback as seller and bid with confidence. Please get permission from what ever powers to be before bidding.
On Mar-13-14 at 07:07:48 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer all of the questions of the car fax. My grandmother bought this in Saratoga Springs NY for my dad. It spent three days there and was driven to Fl on grandmothers registration and plates. When plates expired here in FL it was then titled in my dads name. So registration at 10 miles was my grandmother (for my dad) then at 5k into my dads name and at 59k into my name. Due to ongoing health issues my dad physically can not get into truck. I easily could sell truck locally but don't want my dad to see it around town. My dad has driven this from 6 miles and has always been the only driver except for me. The truck was not used for towing on a regular basis but has made three trips in its life towing a 37 dodge pro touring to rod runs. We have NEVER had ANY issues with this truck. |

Ford Green Zone works magic with GPS to make your drive smarter, cleaner
Fri, Aug 29 2014For the most part, plug-in hybrids rely on the power stored in the battery until that charge is depleted. Unless the switch can be changed manually, it's only then that the cars fire up the internal combustion engine and begin using the fossil fuels on board. This is ideal, of course, when one's drive isn't long enough that the car needs to start sipping gasoline at all. On longer commutes, when it's certain that the route is longer than the car's all-electric range, this isn't necessarily the most efficient use of energy. Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds. Ford is working on a smart system, based on Nokia mapping technology, that uses GPS data to use both the electricity and conventional fuel more efficiently. Since battery power is less efficient at highway speeds, Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds, rather than just using up all the electrons right at the beginning of the drive. Using a website or the in-car navigation system, the driver can pinpoint the parts of the route, highlighted in green, where using battery power would be more effective, and set the car to automatically switch to electricity for those sections. Depending on the route, the car could automatically switch back and forth between the two power sources multiple times, particularly if the drive is a mix between city and highway driving. Of course, Green Zone will be go beyond that. The program is being developed to take traffic and road grade into account, details that allow the car to be make even smarter choices to improve efficiency. Ford even hopes to have Green Zone learn driver habits, and respond accordingly depending on who is driving the car. The system could control other features as well, such as anticipating corners and shifting the headlights to better illuminate the road ahead. Green Zone could also potentially use information from vehicle-to-vehicle networking to control functions in the car. The Green Zone system still has a few years before it will be ready to be put into production vehicles, but Ford is confident it will make its way onto the road eventually. As with other innovations that improve efficiency and make our vehicles smarter, we can expect to see similar technology from other manufacturers, until it becomes a regular part of driving in the future.
Amid Mulally rumors, Bill Ford praises company's deep bench
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Bill Ford went on the offensive to combat the rumors that CEO Alan Mulally would leave Dearborn for Steve Ballmer's vacated position leading Microsoft, adding that even if the 68-year-old, former Boeing exec were to depart, the Ford executive team is in a good place.
"I'm happy [Mulally] is going to stick around. But we also feel really good about where we are in terms of succession," Ford told Bloomberg TV, according to Automotive News. Rumors first cropped up about Mulally leaving Ford when AllThingsD speculated that he was in the running, early last month. In that same report, which you can read here, Ford's board of directors reportedly okayed the CEO stepping down ahead of his planned retirement in 2014.
That opened the floodgates, culminating in a report from a few days ago that the rumors over Ballmer's successor just might be true. The story is especially troubling, as Ford hasn't had Mulally under contract, according to AN. "He's here as long as he and I would like it to happen," Ford said, "We're also cognizant of training the next generation and getting them ready to go as well."
FCA UConnect fiasco could set over-the-air updates back years
Fri, Feb 16 2018Since cars have become more software dependent, most major automakers have been inching toward enabling over-the-air updates to keep vehicle electronics, ranging from infotainment systems to safety features, current. But there are only two car companies — Fiat Chrysler and Ford —± currently doing OTA updates, and on a limited basis. GM CEO Mary Barra announced last summer that the automaker will launch a new EV architecture and infotainment system capable of over-the-air updates "before 2020." The one exception, per usual, is Tesla. Since the release of the Model S almost six years ago, the maverick EV automaker has made routine OTA software updates a core part of its vehicle platforms and value proposition, and has sent out updates for everything from adjusting ride height to enabling Autopilot, largely without incident. When I've asked automakers why they can't do the same thing, I've heard reasons ranging from running afoul of their dealers (and archiac regulation) to security concerns. Automakers like Ford and General Motors say they want to act like tech companies, which routinely send out OTA updates for a wide range of devices, but overall the car industry still moves at a very cautious snail's pace. And when automakers do try to move faster and take more risks — unlike with a smartphone update, which people bitch about but live with — the consequences can be significant when things go wrong. That's the case with Fiat Chrysler America and its recent public-relations nightmare when an OTA update went awry. The update went out at the end of last week for the Uconnect system in late-model vehicles, and it made head units go into a near continuous reboot, which caused owners to not only lose access to entertainment features, but also critical functions like emergency assistance. Almost immediately, owners took to Twitter to express outrage, and FCA was caught flatfooted. A tweet went out on Monday on the UconnectCares Twitter account that read, "Certain 2017 & 2018 Uconnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds. Our Engineering teams are investigating the cause and working towards a resolution.
