1997 F350 7.3 powerstroke diesel - 4x4.   This truck is in good overall shape, I'm selling to downsize.  Has an aftermarket 3" downpipe, 4" exhaust.   DP tuner kit with 6 tunes - 3 of which are designed for hauling.  Ball joints, tie rods, pads, rotors were all replaced when I initially bought the truck a little over two years ago.   Has a custom hide-away gooseneck assembly built into the bed with a lid.   I bought this truck to use for my hobby farm, and have recently gotten rid of horses, and selling gooseneck trailer.  Truck has 4 brand new 235/85/16 tires on it as of a few weeks ago.   Also has a new stereo system with 4 new speakers installed in cab as of Feb 2012.  Also has a shift kit in tranny for hauling - truck does not shift quite  like a normal auto tranny would, but rides nice hauling.  Never had much issues with the tranny - good overall truck.  Just replaced starter recently as well.  Truck has AC & heat.  Overall, truck was used rather lightly, although I have hauled a 30'+ gooseneck trailer with approx 12k lbs from IL to VA, and hauling trips from VA to NY.

Recently plugged trailer into truck and it must have tripped a fuse as brake controller, brake lights on truck, and ABS light are not working currently.  (ABS flashes).   Must be a fuse issue that I have just not looked into yet.   Also, recently got trouble with the auto tranny shifter.   It will not shift from park into other gears without shutting the truck off, and putting it in neutral first - then you can switch to any gear.  Basically this means that you start it more like you would a standard - always in neutral - then shift into whatever gear you want.   I have heard of this before so seems like it may be an issue with the older Fords.   Because of these problems, I am not asking much for the truck.  Only selling because I am looking to downsize and get a car.   Feel free to contact me with questions.   Pictures attached are approx 1 year old from when a make-over was done on the truck (installing tuner, etc).

Ford barely edges surging Chrysler for Canadian sales crown in best year ever

Thu, Jan 8 2015

The auto industry in the US showed strong results through much of 2014 with sales regularly growing year-over-year for many brands. That same trend carried over in the Great White North, as well. Canada posted its best numbers ever with 1.85 million units sold, up about 100,000 vehicles over 2013. The country nearly had a new market leader, too. The big winner among our neighbors to the north in 2014 was Ford with 291,951 vehicles sold, up 3 percent from 2013, according to Reuters. That success also handed the company the sales crown for the fifth consecutive year. In large part, the strong result came from the company's popular trucks, which represented about 80 percent of overall sales. "Ford moved into the number one position in September and didn't look back," said a note to clients by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants quoted by Reuters. However, the Blue Oval didn't exactly take an overwhelming lead for the year. The company nearly had to hand over the sales trophy to FCA after the company rallied in the latter part of the year. The Italian-American conglomerate had its best results ever to nip at the Ford's heels and move 290,004 units for 2014, a 12-percent improvement from last year. Jeep especially helped the bottom line with over 50-percent growth, according to Reuters. Only two other brands were able to break the 200,000-vehicle barrier in Canada for 2014. General Motors came in third place overall with 249,800 sales, up 6.3 percent. The combined Toyota and Lexus also barely jumped the hurdle with 200,851 units moved, a 2.8 percent improvement.

Crowdsource funding push on to save historic Ford buildings

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T.
Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story."
The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.
