NEW RANCHO STEERING STABILIZER - INSTALLED 12/09/2013 - HAVE RECEIPT. NEW HIGH-LIFT JACK - INSTALLED 12/09/2013 - HAVE RECEIPT. NEW FULL SIZE SPARE TIRE - INSTALLED 12/09/2013 - HAVE RECEIPT. NEW 488 GEARS (U.S. GEARS) FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL - INSTALLED 12/06/2013 - HAVE RECEIPT. 37" COOPER DISCOVER TIRES INSTALLED 11/03/2011 BACK WHEN TRUCK HAD 123,009 MILES - HAVE RECEIPT. REBUILT TRANSMISSION 06/11/2112 BACK WHEN TRUCK HAD 126,162 MILES - HAVE RECEIPT. HAD HEAVY DUTY TORQUE CONVERTER INSTALLED ON 04/29/2014 - HAVE RECEIPT. NEW RADIATOR AND HOSES INSTALLED 06/30/2012 - HAVE RECEIPT. NEW TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLED INSTALLED FEW MONTHS AGO - CAN'T FIND RECEIPT. NEW BUSHWHACKER WHEEL WELL MOULDING INSTALLED 06/2014 - LOST RECEIPT ALREADY. I DO HAVE THE ORIGINAL WHEEL WELL TRIM STILL. LAST TUNE-UP (PLUGS, WIRES, CAP, FUEL FILTER, ETC. 12/30/2013 AT 133,653 MILES - HAVE RECEIPT. OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MILES OR LESS. TIRES ROTATED EVERY 5K TO 6K. INTERIOR IS GREAT. DECENT SOUND SYSTEM. PIONEER HEAD UNIT, SUBWOOFER, AMP. I ONLY USE 91 OCTANE GAS WHEN FILLING UP REGARDLESS OF PRICE. AND I ONLY BUY GAS FROM CHEVRON, MOBIL, SHELL, OR 76. TRUCK WAS PAINTED IN MARCH OF 2014. TRUCK WAS ORIGINALLY WHITE AND I HAD IT REPAINTED FACTORY WHITE JUST TO BRIGHTEN IT UP. THE DOOR JAMS WERE NOT REPAINTED. AFTER IT WAS PAINTED I PURCHASED NEW GRILL, HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND SIDE MARKERS. I HAD THE TRUCK REPAINTED JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO FRESHEN IT UP, NOT BECAUSE IT WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE LAST TWO PHOTOS OF THE TRUCK WITH THE BLACK TRIM ON THE SIDE ARE PHOTOS OF THE TRUCK BEFORE I PAINTED IT TO SHOW IT WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE LINE-X BED LINER WAS INSTALLED IN 2013. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR THE PAINT JOB AND LINE-X SOMEWHERE. I WILL SEARCH A LITTLE HARDER FOR THEM IF NEEDED. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK IN 10/2011 WITH APPROXIMATELY 123,000 MILES ON IT. I DID THE ABOVE WORK ON IT BECAUSE I TAKE PRIDE IN THE TRUCK. THE PREVIOUS OWNER I BOUGHT IT FROM WAS A MECHANIC FROM A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO TOLD ME HE REBUILT THE MOTOR AT 120K MILES (NO RECEIPT SINCE HE IS A MECHANIC AND DID IT HIMSELF). THE PREVIOUS OWNER INFORMED ME HE RECEIVED THE TRUCK FROM HIS GRANDFATHER WHO WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I HAVE NEVER RAN A CARFAX REPORT ON THIS TRUCK. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS, AND BY THE AMOUNT OF WORK I PUT INTO THIS TRUCK, I REALLY LIKE IT. MY WIFE AND I DECIDED TO SELL IT TO BUY A DUALLY DIESEL BECAUSE WE ARE UPGRADING OUR TOY HAULER TO A LARGE 5TH WHEEL. THIS TRUCK IS MY DAILY DRIVER. MOSTLY LOCAL DRIVING. Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid nab five-star ratings from NHTSA
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Ford's Fusion and Fusion Hybrid have both received the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The rating is a big upgrade for the Fusion, which was completely redesigned for 2013. The previous model fell one star short of the top rating, after scoring only three stars in the frontal crash test and four stars in the side crash test and rollover evaluations. The 2013 Fusion received four stars in side crash and rollover testing and a full five stars in the front crash test.
Test results for the 2013 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid were greatly improved at least in part due to Ford's Personal Safety System. The system utilizes smarter sensors to gather crash data and tailor the car's restraint systems to the occupants. Seatbelt usage and seat position are taken into account to ensure airbags deploy with less pressure for smaller drivers, more for larger drivers.

First-edition Detroit muscle raises millions for charity at Barrett-Jackson
Mon, Jan 19 2015Amidst all the classic metal crossing the auction block each year in Scottsdale, AZ, Detroit automakers have a tradition of donating the first examples of their most enticing new muscle cars, with the proceeds of their sales going towards worthwhile charities. This year, Barrett-Jackson handled three noteworthy examples. The highest price among them was the first Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang with the VIN #001, which raised $1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. General Motors donated the first new Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible, the first retail example of the droptop supercar garnering $800,000 for the United Way. Along with the Z06, GM also donated the first new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, which brought in $170,000 for Detroit's College for Creative Studies. Although these were the headline Motown muscle machines furnished by the automakers themselves, they weren't the only vehicles auctioned off for worthy causes. A 1950 GM Futurliner bus donated by collector Ron Pratte led the charge when it brought in $4.65 million for the Armed Forces Foundation. Other lots included a custom Jeep Wrangler donated by SEMA ($85k), a new M5 donated by BMW ($800k), a '79 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst ($140k), '39 Cadillac LaSalle C-Hawk ($410k), Jeff Gordon's 1999 NASCAR-spec Chevy Monte Carlo ($500k) and a Victory Cross Country 8-Ball motorcycle ($180k). All told, the charity lots raised over $8.7 million for local and national charities. Ford only automaker to make 2012 Buzz Rankings, Toyota most improved
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Ford landed itself a spot among the top 10 brands in the 2012 Buzz Rankings. The annual index scores 1,100 brands in 41 categories to determine which nameplates had the most positive buzz throughout the year.
For the third year in a row, Subway took the top honors overall with a score of 40.3, and Ford was the only automaker to break into the top 25 by earning a sixth-place finish overall. The manufacturer earned a score of 32.1 points, which was enough to push it up one spot from the 2011 Buzz Rankings. Honda managed 21.2 points overall, which is still well behind 25th-place Kohl's at 26.5 points. Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW all round out the top five automakers.
The 2012 Buzz Rankings also keep track of which brands improved the most over the past year, and this year, Toyota was the manufacturer with the largest leap forward. The Japanese automaker jumped from just 14 points in 2011 to 20.5 in 2012. Chrysler, Kia, Dodge and Volkswagen all saw sizable steps forward as well.
