Dealer has informed us it needs a new compressor.Tape player does not work, however radio does (tape is stuck in player and won't eject)"

For sale is a 1995 Ford F350 Diesel Dually (double rear wheels, i.e. 4 tires total on the rear) truck. Mileage is 112,244. It is a 5 speed manual transmission. This is a good work truck, body is in good but not perfect shape (see pictures - right rear wheel cover has damage to the fiberglass is the most prominent, a few dings and scrapers here and there nothing major, and a few minor rust spots on the driver's side bed top where the truck cap meets the bed top (smaller than a dime), same for the interior, minor stains and such but nothing major (i.e. the seat cushions and fabric are all intact).

It is a non-smoking truck (not the truck, I mean no one has ever smoked cigarettes in the truck so while it smells like a used truck, it does not smell like an ashtray laden used truck). This is my father in laws truck, he is retiring so I'm helping him sell it.

The following are known things that do not work: AC (no cold air, dealer said it needs a new compressor). The radio works but the tape player does not (there is a tape stuck in there).

Mechanically it is in excellent shape. I had the local Ford dealer go over it to see if they could find anything that needed fixing and they told me it was fine (Youngblood Motor in Madison, GA).

History is that my father in law bought it from customer of his in South Carolina back in 1999. At the time it had 25,175 miles on it (avg 6200/year). Since 1999 through now he put another 87,069 miles on it, or exactly also 6200 miles per year average (wow that's weird). The VIN check thing shows a lien... that was a loan taken out when he purchased it in 1999. It has long since been paid off (release of lien is on the title).

As you can see from the picture it includes truck cap which is included in the sale. Let me know if any questions and I'll do my best to dig the info out of my father in laws memory. Production Ford Escort heading for Beijing

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Ford's long-dormant Escort nameplate returned affixed to a sedan concept at last year's Shanghai Motor Show. While not exactly a beauty, it showed a clean, straightforward take on Ford's current styling. The Blue Oval said at the time that it wanted to create a model that was stylish "but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Job done. A year later, it looks like the minimalist vehicle might make its production debut at the Beijing Motor Show.
Autocar claims that the streetgoing version has been confirmed to it for the upcoming show, but so far, Ford isn't saying. If unveiled, the Escort is likely to be produced locally for the Chinese market with a domestic partner. Powertrain details remain a secret, but it seems highly likely that any production model would use a small three- or four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive. Sales in other major world markets like ours are unlikely, but a test car was recently spotted in Europe.
Autoblog contacted Ford for confirmation, but the automaker demurred, with a spokesperson saying only, "At the moment, we are not confirming any vehicles planned for the show." It looks like we will have to wait to know for sure.

Toyota hangs on to title of world's largest automaker for first half of 2013

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

General Motors and Ford can have all the success they please, but it doesn't seem like America's two largest manufacturers are going to topple Toyota in the first half of 2013. According to Reuters, Toyota moved 4.91 million vehicles in the first six months of 2013, representing a 1.1-percent drop from the same period in 2012.
GM is on the rise, though, with a four-percent increase in global sales, to 4.85 million. Volkswagen, still sitting in third, saw a 5.5-percent jump to 4.7 million vehicles in the first half of 2013.
If this pace continues for Toyota, it'll finish 2013 in the top sales spot for the second year in a row. The manufacturer fell to third, behind GM and VW, in 2011 after earthquakes and tsunamis ravaged its production capacity.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
