1979 Ford F350 460 V8 Automatic. Truck is a Daily Driver, It has brand new Dunlop E Rated 265 Tires with aftermarket wheels. Starts, Stops, Runs and Drives Great. It is a 6 passenger, 4 Door Truck with 8 Foot Bed. Factory Ford Bed liner and aftermarket tool box. There is some rust at the front of the bed in the bulkhead area, and a little on the front drivers and passenger floor. The rust is not in any corners, it is on the flat area, there is a good chance that I will be able to get the floors repaired early next week before this auction ends. The rockers and other typical rust areas are in good shape. Clean Interior and center console. We have a new accelerator pump which we will replace this weekend. Tires are brand new and only have about 200 miles on them. The Odometer just turned 109,000. The trim on the right front fender needs 1 new clip to attach it properly. The truck also could use some exhaust work, I think a hanger broke and a new section of pipe needs to be installed. I will also try to get that replaced as well before the auction ends. James Franco and tiger tease Ford Super Bowl commercial
Sat, 01 Feb 2014Ford has just released a teaser for its Super Bowl ad, and unlike just about every other automaker, it seems that the Blue Oval is going to make us wait until Sunday to see the full spot. The teaser is, um, strange.
It stars James Franco, who believes he is Ron Riggle, the comedian, Fox NFL Sunday host and retired Marine lieutenant colonel. There's also a tiger. The vague spot has Franco claiming that "this is no ordinary commercial." You'll note on the bottom right, there's a Ford logo and the hashtag #nearlydouble.
According to Automotive News, it's part of a massive viral effort being pushed forward by Ford and its dealerships. Ford sent different teasers and "vignettes" to dealership employees and asked them to share them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, in the hopes of creating a viral effect.
Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes
Sun, 29 Dec 2013Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Transit Courier completes Ford's new commercial van line, will we get it?
Sat, 13 Apr 2013This week Ford rolled out the 2014 Transit Courier, the fourth addition to its Transit range. Ford says its the first time for the nameplate in the compact van segment.
"Ford has now completely transformed its commercial vehicle line-up, with four all-new, class-leading Transits for European customers," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford Europe. "With the all-new Transit range, we expect sales to grow to 400,000 units per year by 2016, well over 50 percent more than we sell today."
When the Courier goes on sale in the Spring of 2014, it will offer more than 1,400 pounds of payload capacity, multiple mounting points for racks or other framework and a rear cargo area that can carry items 5.3 feet-long. An optional folding passenger seat boosts the cargo length to 8.5 feet.
