This isn't your standard F250 - all the 6.o problems were fixed & have receipts from Ford and Diesel Shop. I put a lot of money in this truck, the turbo was replaced and at same time, had injectors, new pistons, new head gaskets, head, head bolts, front differential replaced (2pinion). I personally only used it to tow my motox trailer. It's a hoss! It sounds awesome and pulls great but it should, the top end of the engine is practically brand new! I hold & can show around $8,000 in  professionally done receipts that I have spent on the motor alone in the last 2 years.

Other Recently Replaced Parts

  • Radiator Fan Clutch $107
  • Aluminum Fully Polished 2- Row Racing/Cooling Radiator $380
  • Super Duty Custom Made Spacers $500
  • Red Incandescent Instrument Panel Light Bulbs $12
  • NS Pedal $218
  • A/C Clutch $155
  • Starter $216
  • Front End - New Hubs, Ball Joints, Drag Link and Sway Bar $700
  • Rear Brakes - Rotor, Shoes, R Wheel Studs and Inner&Outer Bearings $700

Issues

  1. Unfortunately this powerful diesel has an engine issue. The oil cooler had a leak and the engine probably ran dry and seized, cant tell for sure.
  2. There also was an electrical short in dash effecting the cluster which was replaced. I bought a replacement on ebay, I did not realize it when buying it but the guy sent me one with 100k miles more than the truck actually had and on top of that -it didn't last but a few months.  I then had to repalced that one with a more accurate one. Ford service records show and support my explanation for the different mileages. The correct mileage is between 175 & 178 K not 100% sure due to the change in the initial cluster.
  3. Airbag & seat-belt disabled lights are on

It's as good as it looks!  Plus Even if you ultimately need to replace the engine this is still a great deal!!

This is an outstanding vehicle! Buy with confidence, and save thousands!!! This truck is definitely priced right!!

Uber releases fleet of self-driving vehicles to select few in Pittsburgh

Wed, Sep 14 2016

Starting today, a select group of Uber users in Pittsburgh, PA will have the ability to request a self-driving vehicle. If a self-driving vehicle is in the area, Uber will send it, as well as a safety driver, to drive loyal customers to their destination. The announcement to give customers the opportunity to get a ride in one of Uber's self-driving vehicles comes roughly a year and a half after the company set up its Advanced Technologies Center in the city. On Tuesday, the company offered a few members of the press the opportunity to ride in one of the company's self-driving cars. The fleet, despite Uber's collaboration with Volvo, was comprised of 14 Ford Fusions equipped with a host of self-driving technology, reports TechCrunch. Uber is giving away free rides as a way to obtain real-world testing, which is crucial for self-driving technology. Recently, nuTonomoy beat Uber to the punch by launching the world's first autonomous taxis in Singapore. While the choice to release its self-driving cars in Pittsburgh mainly comes down to the fact that its ATC is located there, the city faces four seasons and its difficult streets that are comprised of bridges, railroad lines, and an irregular grid layout will prove to be a challenge for the autonomous cars. Since the self-driving vehicles are still being tested, the cars will come with two full-time Uber employees. One employee will loosely grasp the car's steering wheel, ready to take over if something goes awry, while the other will monitor the computer's software. As TechCrunch points out, Uber's autonomous vehicles drove in a similar manner to a regular driver. It obeyed traffic laws, mimicked a driver by coming to stops gently and at other times abruptly, as well as driving slightly into another lane to dodge a poorly-parked vehicle, reports TechCrunch. There's no word on whether regular Uber customers will get a ride in one of the company's Fusions or one of the Volvo's that its working on. Automakers and companies alike have been in a race to put autonomous vehicles on the road. Tesla recently updated its Autopilot system, Apple laid off dozens of employees to reboot its self-driving car project, and Google is working giving its autonomous vehicle the ability to detect emergency vehicles. While this is a large step for Uber, vehicles with autonomous capabilities still have a long way to go.

1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.
