I HAVE FOR SALE A 1997 FORD F250 WITH THE POWERFUL 7.3 L POWERSTROKE DIESEL. THE TRUCK HAS SO MANY NEW PARTS(WITHIN PAST 1 1/2 YRS) THAT I WILL BE UNABLE TO LIST THEM ALL, BUT I WILL TRY TO LIST MOST. FOR STARTERS, A NEW PAINT JOB , (ORIGINAL FACTORY COLOR), ANY DENT OR DING WAS REMOVED, NEW FACTORY WHEELS WITH NEW 285X75 R16 BFG ALL TERRAIN TIRES ( APPROX 18,000 MILES) , THE INTERIOR IS IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION AS WELL, SO AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS, TRUCK LOOKS GREAT INSIDE AND OUT. AS FOR THE RUNNING CONDITION OF THE TRUCK, THE SAME IS ALSO TRUE. THE ENGINE RUNS GREAT, WITH NO KNOWN PROBLEMS. ALL 8 INJECTORS WERE REPLACED AT 207,000 MILES WITH THE NEWER STYLE AB TWO STAGE INJECTORS THAT WERE STOCK IN THE 1999 7.3L POWERSTROKE. AT THE SAME TIME I HAD THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE INJECTORS REPLACED( ALL THE ENGINE WORK WAS DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL DIESEL SHOP, SHIVERS DIESEL IN TIFTON GEORGIA). TRUCK HAS AN AFE COLD AIR INTAKE AS WELL AS A LARGER THAN STOCK DOWN PIPE FROM THE TURBO, SO IT HAS MORE POWER THAN IT DID STOCK. A FEW OTHER ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED ARE: 2 NEW BATTERIES, STARTER, IN TANK FUEL PUMP, FUEL PUMP ON ENGINE, BRAKE VACUUM PUMP, A/C LINES WITH NEW GAS. TRUCK HAS BEEN MAINTAINED VERY WELL, I PURCHASED TRUCK ABOUT 3YRS AGO WITH ALL THE SERVICE RECORDS AND PAPERS FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, AND I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS SINCE THEN. 4X4 WORKS GREAT, WITH THE MANUAL LOCKING HUBS. TRUCK HAS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH OVERDRIVE ON THE GEAR SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION WORKS GREAT AS WELL,IT SHIFTS FIRM INTO SECOND SOMETIMES, BUT HAS NOT WORSENED OR SEEMED TO CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS, IT HAS BEEN THE SAME WAY SINCE I OWNED IT. THERE IS NO RUST ON FRAME OR BODY, THE ORIGINAL OWNER WAS FROM FLORIDA, AND IT HAS BEEN IN SOUTH GEORGIA SINCE, SO NO SALT. OVERALL THE TRUCK IS AN 8 OUT OF 10, OR BETTER, IN MY OPINION. OF COURSE IT IS NOT NEW, AND COMES WITH NO WARRANTIES , BUT I WOULD NOT BE AFRAID THE DRIVE TRUCK ACROSS COUNTRY. THE 7.3 L ENGINE WITH NEW INJECTORS SHOULD BE GOOD FOR MANY, MANY MORE MILES. I AM ONLY SELLING TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE TOO MANY. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, CONTACT JUSTIN AT 912-592-9973, LEAVE MESSAGE IF NO ANSWER. $500 DUE WITHIN 48HRS OF AUCTION END, THE REMAINDER DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS. I WILL ACCEPT CASH, MONEY ORDER, BANK CHECK, OR PERSONAL CHECK, BUT FUNDS MUST CLEAR BEFORE TRUCK LEAVES OR TITLE IS SIGNED OVER. Trump tells Detroit 3 CEOs he wants more US jobs, calls environmentalists 'out of control'
Tue, Jan 24 2017As expected, President Donald J. Trump met with top executives from FCA, Ford, and General Motors this morning as part of a larger push to generate jobs in America. "I want new plants to be built here for cars sold here!", Trump said in a tweet ahead of the meeting. Not everything said in the meeting was made public, but the President later tweeted that he had a "Great meeting with automobile industry leaders." FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, Ford chief Mark Fields, and GM's Mary Barra all echoed the positive vibes after the meeting. In a statement, Barra called the discussion "very constructive and wide-ranging," adding that it focused on "policies that support a strong and competitive economy and auto industry," and "that supports the environment and safety." That's noteworthy, because Trump is reported to have said "I am to a large extent an environmentalist. I believe in it, but it's out of control." Fields, speaking to reporters after the meeting, said, "We're excited about working together with the president and his administration on tax policies, on regulation and on trade to really create a renaissance in American manufacturing." The Ford CEO was specifically talking about Trump's withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. "We've repeatedly said that the mother of all trade barriers is currency manipulation, and TPP failed in meaningfully dealing with that, and we appreciate the president's courage to walk away from a bad trade deal," he said. Marchionne focused on American manufacturing in his statement after the meeting. "I appreciate the President's focus on making the US a great place to do business. We look forward to working with President Trump and members of Congress to strengthen American manufacturing." Perhaps equally as interesting as what was said and who was invited are what wasn't said and who wasn't invited. Trump has been very vocal about his distaste for US automakers' plants in Mexico, but no mention was made of the North American Free Trade Agreement by Trump or any of the Detroit CEOs after the meeting. We also have to wonder if Trump plans to meet with representatives from German, Japanese, and Korean automakers that have made massive investments into American plants and produce a large number of cars in this country. American automakers fall in latest Fortune 500 rankings
Fri, 10 May 2013Not that it means anything beyond bragging rights, but if you're fixated on the positions of domestic automakers on the annual Fortune 500 list, both General Motors and Ford are still on it but they've slipped a couple of notches. The list ranks American companies and they're ordered solely by revenue. GM, fifth last year, came in seventh, while Ford fell from ninth to tenth even though both companies saw small gains in annual revenue.
GM's $152.3 billion in revenue was less than a third of that of the first company on the list: Wal-Mart, which regained the title from Exxon Mobil. Berkshire Hathaway and Apple are the firms that moved GM down. Ford, displaced by energy company Valero, had $134.3 billion in revenue.
On a side note, profitability isn't a factor, but both GM and Ford were down in this year's list compared to last year's: GM declined from $9.2 billion to $6.2 billion, Ford fell from $20.2 billion to $5.6 billion. If profits were included, Exxon Mobil would probably still be king: although the energy company made almost $20 billion less in revenue than Wal-Mart's $469.2 billion, it posted $44.9 billion in profit compared to Wal-Mart's $17 billion.
NHTSA closes investigations into Ford Taurus, Hyundai Santa Fe
Wed, 03 Jul 2013Ford and Hyundai are out from under the scrutinizing eyes of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the government agency said it was closing investigations against both automakers over vehicle safety concerns.
Ford was being investigated for reported damaged speed control cables on Ford Taurus (shown above) and Mercury Sable models, both built between 2000 and 2003. Vehicles with the company's Duratec engines allegedly failed to allow owners to brake as expected. Owners lodged 100 complaints and were involved in five accidents, according to NHTSA records. The American automaker responded to the reports, and on June 21 of this year, said that it would inspect and repair all affected vehicles, regardless of the mileage.
Hyundai was under investigation for a reported loose fastener on the steering shaft of its 2011 Santa Fe (shown in the gallery below). After NHTSA launched its inquiry, the Korean automaker responded with its own investigation that yielded four affected vehicles. Following the inspection of 680 vehicles at its assembly plant, Hyundai said the issue was due to employee error and that no further defects have been found.
