Very good Uniroyal Liberator A/T Tires, LT285/75/16 on OEM 10-hole aluminum wheels. Brand New tinted windshield and wiper blades. Missing one rt. rear center cap (thank Goodyear).
This is an excellent truck and has served me well for over 8 years. I bought it with 116K miles on it in excellent condition. I used it to pull my family camper. I installed the adjustable ECM chip controller in the cab and all you see is a small rotary dial switch on the lower dash w/four positions, normal, fast idle, 25HP & 50HP. I had a complete 4" exhaust system installed and the Cat removed. It does run a muffler and sounds very nice. The changes in performance are remarkable, the low end grunt is amazing and on the top end in high gear it pulls like a freight train, this sucker will haul ass! I get 22 MPG on the freeway empty and 17 MPG pulling a car hauler. The locking bed cover with the locking tailgate make for a very nice weather proof, safe way to protect valuables in the bed. Two fuel tanks extend the cruising range over 600 miles on one fill up. The tinted glass was done professionally and is perfect with dark limo glass on the rear window. This is not a show truck and shows some wear & tear but not like you normally expect from a working truck. The headliner sags a little and there is a small crack in the dash pad. But overall this is a nice one, no rust other than a few nicks and scratches, check out the photos. For all intents and purposes lets just call the paint dead. Worst is on the roof and hood but the patina is looking pretty good but in full disclosure I want to point out the only negative on the whole truck. You are welcome to come and look it over and test drive it. I would be happy to demo it for you, your agent or broker or your mechanic if you would like. I live in the north suburbs of Atlanta GA. and could pick up any out of town buyer who wanted to fly into our Hartsfield/Jackson International Airport and drive it home. It is road ready, rubbed and scrubbed with fresh Rotella T oil change and filter. You don't see many of these things come up at auction anymore and rarely with low mileage like this one. Don't miss your chance to get a great 7.3 Diesel at a very fair price. For you buyers who do not like the auction format I will offer the truck at a fair market BUY IT NOW price of $10,5000. I will need a deposit of $500 within 5 days of auction end and the balance upon pick up in cash or cashiers check. Please call Mike with any questions at 678-978-0399, good luck, bid high, bid often!!

2014 Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Ford Mustang
Mon, 01 Jul 2013If you're a fan of Ford racing history, a Mustang worshiper or even just an avid follower of our yearly SEMA coverage, you may have heard the back story on the Race Red Mustang you see above. Back in 1964, Holman & Moody was tapped by the English Alan Mann Racing Team to race-prep three Mustangs for competition in the incredibly arduous 4,000-mile Tour de France Automobile rally. Competing mainly against Jaguar MkII saloons over 10 days and 17 stages, the H&M Mustangs took the top two places in the Touring class and the first-ever racing win for Ford's pony car.
Though the history of that first Mustang win hasn't been incredibly well known here in the States, the subsequent decades have seen plenty of racy versions of the car come and go. Last year at the SEMA show, we covered the brief debut of this living tribute to that piece of racing lore, the Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Mustang.
This limited-edition Mustang represents a kind of new venture for H&M, as the legendary racing shop has spent the last few decades earning its keep largely by restoring vintage racing cars. The urge to get back into the world of Ford and Mustang was powerful, however, what with the car's 50th anniversary looming and the current generation of 'Stang just about out the door.
Ford Green Zone works magic with GPS to make your drive smarter, cleaner
Fri, Aug 29 2014For the most part, plug-in hybrids rely on the power stored in the battery until that charge is depleted. Unless the switch can be changed manually, it's only then that the cars fire up the internal combustion engine and begin using the fossil fuels on board. This is ideal, of course, when one's drive isn't long enough that the car needs to start sipping gasoline at all. On longer commutes, when it's certain that the route is longer than the car's all-electric range, this isn't necessarily the most efficient use of energy. Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds. Ford is working on a smart system, based on Nokia mapping technology, that uses GPS data to use both the electricity and conventional fuel more efficiently. Since battery power is less efficient at highway speeds, Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds, rather than just using up all the electrons right at the beginning of the drive. Using a website or the in-car navigation system, the driver can pinpoint the parts of the route, highlighted in green, where using battery power would be more effective, and set the car to automatically switch to electricity for those sections. Depending on the route, the car could automatically switch back and forth between the two power sources multiple times, particularly if the drive is a mix between city and highway driving. Of course, Green Zone will be go beyond that. The program is being developed to take traffic and road grade into account, details that allow the car to be make even smarter choices to improve efficiency. Ford even hopes to have Green Zone learn driver habits, and respond accordingly depending on who is driving the car. The system could control other features as well, such as anticipating corners and shifting the headlights to better illuminate the road ahead. Green Zone could also potentially use information from vehicle-to-vehicle networking to control functions in the car. The Green Zone system still has a few years before it will be ready to be put into production vehicles, but Ford is confident it will make its way onto the road eventually. As with other innovations that improve efficiency and make our vehicles smarter, we can expect to see similar technology from other manufacturers, until it becomes a regular part of driving in the future.
NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
