First things first I want everyone to be aware of two very important things. 1. This truck is in need of transmission work (read description) 2. This is a true NO RESERVE auction (no fake bids and no games on my end, next Thursday April 18th the high bidder will own it!)

This is a 1996 F250 4X4 7.3 Powerstroke truck for someone that wants a good work truck for a great price. Motor starts up very nice, strong batteries and glow plugs, no heavy smoke or blow by. Once in every 5 turns the starter won't engage, but let is stop and hit it again it will will crank just fine. The transmission will move the truck around in reverse and forward only when it is cold (actually shifts through the gears just fine) but when the fluid gets a bit warm it will stop moving, turn the engine off and put it in gear and it will drive for a few feet again. I'm not sure if it needs a torque converter, transmission pump or just a full out rebuild, either way this is exactly as you will buy it. It will need towed or to be put on a trailer to get it home. Also the left rear leaf spring shackle is rusted through. I am unaware of the condition of any of the brakes, ball joints, tie rods, and the truck has not been checked out or serviced and the PA inspection has just expired. The frame is fairly clean and solid, see pictures. Tires are 50% or so, no major leaks.

Cosmetically it's as you would expect for a Pennsylvania born and raised 17 year old Ford. Rust spots starting in all the usual spots, both bed sides, both extended cab bottoms, both front fender bottoms, tailgate. Not falling apart but she has her fair share of corrosion. No major dents or damage other than the rust, but it is a little faded. It is missing an F250 molding on the one side and some center caps, like I said it's a great work truck. Interior is all there and pretty decent. No major rips or tears, all glass is nice, no bad smells inside either. It could use a clean up.

Here is your chance to get into one of these classic 7.3's for cheap money, I'm letting it rip because I need it off my books next week so if you are a buyer please put your bids in with the intention of owning her, it's a true no reserve guys, don't email me later crying cause someone out bid you for $.01, get your bid in high as you can spend and hopefully you'll get it cheap. Good luck. For all serious questions or concerns or if you want to come take a look at it feel free to give me a call, my name is Zach 717-361-6650. It is being sold by Platinum Car and Truck Sales, LLC in Elizabethtown, PA, it will be sold AS-IS and all proper disclosers will be made in writing at the time of delivery.

2015 Ford Mustang potentially 'leaked' by Car and Driver

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Few upcoming debuts have been as eagerly anticipated as the all-new Ford Mustang that's expected to debut shortly as the Mustang's 50th anniversary year approaches. Well, Car and Driver magazine would have us wait no longer as it claims to be leaking Ford's new global pony car early.
Of course what you're looking at is just as likely to be a composite rendering based on what C/D projects the new Mustang to look like, but to our eyes it looks spot on. Combining design traits from the Evos Concept with classic Mustang signatures and Ford's Aston-inspired grille treatment, C/D's images - including a complete 360-degree digital navigator - show a Mustang not only for the modern era, but also for global distribution, taking a quintessentially American car to markets its predecessors were never designed for.
Those global considerations are expected to spell the demise of the outgoing Mustang's holdout live rear axle in favor of an independent suspension, and a slight constricting of the exterior dimensions. And thanks to a separate leak, coming from a digital survey, we have apparent confirmation of what will power the new pony car. While the existing 3.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engines will apparently carry over with only slight adjustments in output, the survey confirms a new 2.4-liter turbo four will be positioned in between them, offering slightly more power than the V6 but markedly improved fuel economy for a manageable $560 premium over base.

Which car companies are creating new jobs in America?

Fri, Sep 22 2017

Since January, automakers have announced investments totaling $9.5 billion in U.S. plants, creating or retaining more than 12,000 jobs. Some of those companies have yet to announce just how many jobs will be created given their investments, with the location of many of those jobs still to be determined. Specifically, the 4,000-job Toyota-Mazda joint venture plant still hasn't announced its location, with numerous states jockeying for it. Hyundai has plans to invest $1 billion but has not announced a jobs number yet. And likewise Ford is investing $1.2 billion in Michigan without specifying a number of jobs. Volvo this week announced plans to add a second line to its factory under construction in South Carolina, spending another $500 million and adding 2,500 jobs to the 2,000 it was already trying to fill. Then Thursday, Daimler announced a $1 billion expansion to its facility in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to produce EV batteries and electric SUVs, a move that will add 600 jobs to its hiring this year. Above, we've created a handy pie chart showing you which companies have announced new jobs and how many there will be. 2022 Rivian R1T vs. 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning vs. GMC Hummer EV Pickup | How they compare on paper

Tue, Sep 28 2021

The 2022 Rivian R1T has arrived, ushering in the era of the production electric pickup truck. The Rivian reviews are in, and spoiler alert: They're pretty good. Curious how the new battery-powered truck stacks up to its forthcoming competitors? Well, you've come to the right place. Rivian beat all of Detroit's big automakers to market in the half-ton segment, but probably not by the margin the startup would have liked. Ford's answer is the F-150 Lightning, which is due to enter production early next year, coming hot on the heels of GM's first entry into the space – the GMC Hummer EV pickup – which is scheduled to come off the line late this fall. While all three are pickups, they're aimed at distinctly different buyers, as a perusal of their specifications will reveal. Let's have a look, shall we?   Disclaimer: Before we dive in on this one, we'd like to note that while we've made our best effort to verify the specs provided, the Rivian is brand-new and the others are still in the prototype phase. Some of these figures may be inaccurate or may simply change before production. This is all hypothetical until you can actually cross-shop them anyway, right? Cool. End disclaimer. Let's start with the powertrains. They're all battery-electric trucks engineered on a modular rear-wheel-drive configuration engineered to accommodate (theoretically, anyway) up to four electric drive units. Rivian actually makes the most use of this with a quad-motor setup producing 835 horsepower and 908 pound-feet of torque with its high-output initial model. GMC's three-motor Hummer has the R1T beat with its estimated 1,000-horsepower output, while Ford's (also three-motor) comes in with a far more modest 563 horses. This is an excellent illustration of our above point that these are not all engineered for the same crowd. Ford's F-150, which comes in at a lower price point, is meant to be far more mainstream, as its power output suggests.  This theme continues when we look at the dimensions. Despite the image "Hummer" may conjure, GMC's entry actually needs the shallowest parking space. The Rivian is right behind it, with the work-truck-spec Ford extending more than a foot longer than either. What the Hummer lacks in length, it makes up for in girth. It's the widest by a good 5 inches. The Rivian is only slightly pudgier than the F-150, but it's much closer at that end of the scale.
