1992 Ford F-250 7.3 litre Diesel with ATS Turbo system. This truck runs and drives unbelievably strong! The bullet proof 7.3 Navistar V8 Diesel has been upgraded with a K&N Filter system and an ATS Turbo system. The transmission shifts very firmly and has obviously been beefed up for towing, and the truck also has dual fuel tanks.The Air conditioner blows very cold, and the interior is in great shape, especially considering it's age. The truck does have a few exterior dents, all of which you should be able to see in the pictures. The plastic bezel that surrounds the instrument cluster is broken, but I've ordered one and it's on it's way.The heavy duty Firestone Truck tires have excellent tread, and look almost new. The truck starts up immediately, and runs smoothly. The brakes and suspension feel good and the truck doesn't wander or make any strange noises. J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.

Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
