1991 Ford F-250 Xlt Lariat 7.5l Club Cab on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
Up for sale is a super clean, 1991 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat. I am the second owner. Truck was purchased in Oregon brand new off the lot in 1991, and I was the next owner.
Overall, the cleanest I have seen for this year. The interior is almost perfect, with the exception of a few stains on the carpet, which I have detailed in the videos.... There is NOT 1 stain on the upholstery. All the rubber is in great shape, the cab is more quiet than my brand new 2014. Mechanically solid, I have kept up the maintenence, oil changes, fluids etc every 3,000 miles. About the only thing is that it needs are new U joints at some point, as it 'clanks' when going from reverse to drive, it's nothing serious. My local shop will do it for about 125, but i hear they can go up to 200. Under the hood is clean, no rotten hoses and/or belts. Engine is a tank and never shudders on me. Transmission shifts smoothly between all gears. The Exterior is pretty excellent also, there are some dings and chips that I have also discussed in the videos, but this truck really draws attention wherever it goes. It was 100% original paint until I recently had a pretty bad door ding fixed on the passenger door and driver's side rear bed fixed and repainted. there is some surface rusting in the bed, but that is to be expected for a truck it's age. The truck has 2 stock fuel tanks and 1 aux fuel tank that is bolted to be the bed. easy enough to take out if you want. also added to the truck were 2 fog lights, trailer brake controller, bumper mounted hitch, vacuum gauge, cb radio, and cattle guard. the aux fuel tank and fog lights are wired to switched mounted under the dash. All power door locks and windows work well. Factory AC blows ice cold. I have no idea if the cassette player works, but i know the radio does. If you really want to know if the cassette player works, I'll go to Goodwill and pick one up to test for you. I have attached pretty detailed photos and videos, I suggest you watch the videos as I have detailed everything in there, if there is anything you feel I have missed please don't hesitate to ask and I can either upload more photos or answer your questions via email/phone/text. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

Junkyard Gem: 1973 Mercury Marquis Brougham 4-Door Pillared Hardtop
Tue, Nov 7 2023Ford's Mercury Division debuted the Marquis in the 1967 model year, as a sporty coupe based on a stretched Ford LTD chassis. When the LTD got an update for 1969, so did the Marquis, and production of that generation of the top-of-the-line Mercury continued through 1978 (the Grand Marquis hit streets the following year). The 1969-1978 Marquis was a big, imposing land yacht, and the Brougham version came absolutely loaded with affordable luxury. Today's Junkyard Gem is a Marquis Brougham from the first year of the Malaise Era, found in a Phoenix self-service car graveyard recently. This car appears to have spent decades sitting outdoors in one of the harshest climates in the country, and so it's in rough shape. The vinyl top received the full thermonuclear treatment and is mostly obliterated by now. The interior got thoroughly cooked as well. Still, its original opulence shines through if you use some imagination. What hurts is that this car was packed with most of the good options, including the mighty 460-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 engine with four-barrel carburetor. The price for the 460 was just $76 in this car, or around $548 in today's money. The base engine was a 429 (7.0-liter). Power numbers were way down for 1973 when compared to a couple of years earlier, partly as the result of tightening emissions standards but mostly due to the switch from gross to net power ratings that began midway during 1971 and was completed by the end of 1972. This engine was rated at 202 horsepower and 330 pound-feet. The only transmission available was a three-speed automatic. We can assume that the original buyer of this car and its single-digit fuel economy had a rough time when the OPEC oil embargo hit in the fall of 1973. Believe it or not, air conditioning was not standard equipment on the '73 Marquis Brougham (you had to move up to a Lincoln for that). This one even has the automatic temperature control feature, adding a total of $508 to the cost of this car (about $3,661 in 2023 dollars). That AM/FM/8-track radio—or, in fact, any radio—was an extra-cost option as well, with a price tag of $363 ($2,616 after inflation). The MSRP for the 1973 Marquis Brougham sedan (known as a "pillared hardtop" thanks to the frameless window glass) was $5,072, which comes to $36,555 in today's dollars. Obviously, its out-the-door cost would have been much higher with all the options.

2015 Ford F-150 pricing announced, aluminum-bodied truck up just $395
Mon, 28 Jul 2014The eagerly anticipated Ford F-150 has had its 2015 pricing announced, adding only a small amount to the pickup's total cost, despite its weight-saving aluminum body. The XL and XLT entry level models only see a $395 boost over the heavier, current-generation, 2014 truck.
The XL starts at $26,615 while the XLT rings up at $31,890. The increase for Lariat is up a similarly negligible $895, to $39,880. Going up the ladder, meanwhile, the leather-intensive King Ranch sees the biggest jump of the F-150 family, with prices increasing $3,515, to $49,460. Finally, picking up the top-end Platinum trim will cost an extra $3,055, with prices starting at $52,155.
The higher prices are being blamed not only on the aluminum bodies, which trim up to 700 pounds of body fat, but on increased levels of standard equipment. While we were expecting a price hike, the fact that the 2015 F-150's volume trims - Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Reuters that the XL and XLT alone cover 70 percent of F-150 sales - have had less than a $400 increase is hugely impressive.
