1985 Ford F-250 4x4, 351 Standard Cab 8ft Bed 3/4 Ton Reliable Dependable Truck on 2040-cars
Royal Oak, Michigan, United States
There is no buy it now price. This is a no reserve auction. I just want to sell the truck plain and simple for the end auction price and not be bothered with haggling or debating on what it is worth. What ever it gets bid to and sells for will be what it is worth. Please only bid if you can pay cash and pick it up within 7 days of auction end.
Clean original Ford truck. Spent its whole life (until last week) in Arizona so it is completely rust free. Will post more pics of the underside after I can clean it up a little this week. Its dirty from the road trip to Michigan but its like new underneath - zero rust on anything - not on the exaust, not on the brake lines, not on the fuel lines...not at the body seems ...nothing. Except for the tires, no reason why it could not drive back. Installed a Edelbrock carburator and recored the ford radiator. Had a full tune up and new battery, alternator, and coolant system flush before leaving Arizona. Chock sets right and it runs good. Starts up, idles, runs and drives great. Very tight driving truck. Interior is in great shape. Radio does not work. Faceplate broke. Air condition is not working and the heater blower fan is only working on low. Other than the paint flaking some on the passenger side this Ford truck is super solid and ready to work or remain a clean rust free survivor. There is a dent on the upper driver door on the back side of window but its not very noticable as you can see. I hope that who ever buys this would want to keep taking care of it and preserve it. I will offer to drive it to the winning bidders location for the cost of gas (figure about 14mpg), hotel rooms, and my plane ticket home but i doubt anyone is willing to do that. If you are..i would require payment in full using bank to bank transfer, and remainder due at delivery for gas/hotels, and my plane ticket home (I will not take a bus back - i will only fly back) Please ask any questions. Winning bidder please pick it up and pay cash within 7 days. This is a no reserve auction and I want to sell the truck easily, please do not bid if you cannot pay cash or If you absoutly must buy it and have it shipped, you must arrange your own shipping following bank to bank transfer and payment in full is received. I wil not accept any checks, money orders, bank checks, cashiers checks, or any form of paper payment. Have a Awesome day. Please ask any questions. On Jun-06-14 at 09:45:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I added 12 more pictures after giving the it a good wash and wax. I added more pictures in a dummy listing also. Now all the dust is off it you can see the paint shines and is not all faded. the underside is very clean as seen - I did not paint any of this or anything, thats all factory. Not previously noted yet: -the plastic/rubber floor liner dried out and cracked up. see pics.. -has all factory skid plates for offroad option. -the radiator was recored a few years ago, not recently...just additional info. -new starter, new water pump also put in before leaving arizona. Here are the additional pictures On Jun-06-14 at 10:04:15 PDT, seller added the following information: see for more pics... http://www.ebay.com/itm/111374588258?item=111374588258&viewitem=&vxp=mtr On Jun-06-14 at 18:51:21 PDT, seller added the following information: also has new exhaust...from converters back and flowmasters. Ford recalls 2017 Lincoln Continental for headlight problem
Tue, Oct 11 2016Ford Motor Co. is already recalling the 2017 Lincoln Continental for a headlight problem, the automaker announced Tuesday. The HID headlights may have been assembled with LED lens that don't have the correct lens optics to meet federal visibility requirements for turn signals. Ford says it is unaware of any accidents related to the issue. The company will replace the headlamp assemblies, if needed. The safety compliance recall covers 1,876 Continentals built from June 14 to Sept. 23 at Ford's Flat Rock factory south of Detroit. Most of the cars are in the United States; 49 are in Canada, and one is in a federalized territory. Only about 300 cars are in consumers' hands, a spokesperson said. Customers can use a Lincoln service program where dealers will pick up their Continental, fix it for free, and return it, the spokesperson said. Lincoln has high hopes for the Continental. The flagship sedan uses one of Lincoln's most iconic names and features a luxurious interior, available 400-horsepower V6 engine, and safety features like adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera. Lincoln recently announced an elaborate marketing campaign shot by renown photographer Annie Leibovitz to generate interest in the Continental. In a separate recall, Ford also said Tuesday that 60 Edges from the 2015-16 model year are being recalled to update their antilock braking system module. Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
Ford dealers offered discounts on tools to fix aluminum
Mon, 27 Jan 2014With the introduction of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 (and the likely use of aluminum in future Ford products), Ford is looking to help its dealerships reduce costs related to repairing this more labor-intensive material. Automotive News is reporting that Ford dealers with body shops will require an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 in equipment and training to work on aluminum, and to help alleviate the financial burden of the new F-150, Ford has announced a special 20-percent discount on this equipment.
Dealers will be able to save up to $10,000 on tools such as welders, air-filtration systems and rivet guns and to create aluminum-specific work stations. The new F-150 goes on sale in the fourth quarter, and dealers have until October 31 to take advantage of this deal, according to the report.
