1976 ford f 250 crew cab 4 x 4 short bed highboy

In need of complete restoration is this very unmolested nearly 100% original Arizona truck full of potential or drive it just the way it sits. Does run and drive but has done some sitting so best to go through all of the basics before calling it road worthy. Powered by what i believe is the original 360 with 2 barrel carb and a 4 speed manuel trans with divorced transfer case, 4:10 gear ratio. Missing a manuel locking hub on one side so im not sure if the 4wd is operational at this time or not. Overall very straight body with the exception of the tailgate wich has a few dents. Exterior paint appears to be original with surface rust only, except for one small area on the driver rear tire well, also rust on bottum of front floor boards (shown in pic), i do not want to tear the factory rubber floor apart to view the top of the floor boards. The tailgate is not original to this truck (also shown in pic). Body damage in front and driver fender and door. This did not effect the frame core support inner fender or any mechanical part of the truck. I am however including oem ford replacement driver outer and inner fender, driver door, core support, very nice grill and inserts, and another crome bumper. Overall nice interior. Interior is also original with the exception of the front seat being replaced by a different shade of green oem seat wich needs recovered. Dash pad has lots of cracks from the sun. Passenger door panel arm rest needs fastened to door panel. All of the glass is their and not cracked except for the windshield. I forgot to put on air cleaner for engine for pic but i do have one. Engine is very dirty. Frame and axles have surface rust but no through rust or cracks or bends. Tires all hold air but are very weathered and low tread. One rim does not match the other 3. Please let me know if you have any questions. I am interested in disclosing everything and hidding nothing. Thankyou

Watch how Ken Block spent his weekend in Barbados

Thu, 22 May 2014

Regardless of what you think of his skill as a racer, Ken Block is an expert showman. At this point, he has a career of showing up around the world to do vehicular stunts, and he's still able to go racing as well. It's a pretty sweet niche to carve out. Recently, Block was in Barbados to participate in Top Gear Live and the first event of the Global Rallycross Championship season, and Ford Racing produced a short video to show off his exploits.
It looked like a great show. Block got to race Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes-Benz Formula One car and had a very weird crash during a Rallycross race that put his Ford Fiesta on its roof. Top Gear also released an extended look at Block and Hamilton's spectacle with the two of them expertly sliding around. Scroll down to watch the videos and get a taste of Block's tropical racing adventure.

Nuclear-powered concept cars from the Atomic Age

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

In the 1950s and early 60s, the dawn of nuclear power was supposed to lead to a limitless consumer culture, a world of flying cars and autonomous kitchens all powered by clean energy. In Europe, it offered the then-limping continent a cheap, inexhaustible supply of power after years of rationing and infrastructure damage brought on by two World Wars.
The development of nuclear-powered submarines and ships during the 1940s and 50s led car designers to begin conceptualizing atomic vehicles. Fueled by a consistent reaction, these cars would theoretically produce no harmful byproducts and rarely need to refuel. Combining these vehicles with the new interstate system presented amazing potential for American mobility.
But the fantasy soon faded. There were just too many problems with the realities of nuclear power. For starters, the powerplant would be too small to attain a reaction unless the car contained weapons-grade atomic materials. Doing so would mean every fender-bender could result in a minor nuclear holocaust. Additionally, many of the designers assumed a lightweight shielding material or even forcefields would eventually be invented (they still haven't) to protect passengers from harmful radiation. Analyses of the atomic car concept at the time determined that a 50-ton lead barrier would be necessary to prevent exposure.

2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*

Wed, Nov 26 2014

The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.
