Ford F-150 Supercab Lariat, Just 40,000 Miles, 2000, 4x4, Loaded, Maint Records! on 2040-cars
Zionsville, Indiana, United States
This IS the one - Simply put, used trucks
like this one don’t come around often!
·
For sale is an exceptional one-owner,
super low-mileage, lightly used & LOADED 2000 F-150 Supercab Lariat – as of December 19, it has just 40,151 miles!
·
Very well cared for with regular, professional
& documented maintenance
·
Vehicle purchased new from Dimension Ford, Fort
Wayne, Indiana
·
Spray-on truck bed liner professionally applied
at time of purchase.
·
Less than 8,900 miles on 4 new Goodyear
Wranglers and alignment. · Heater is great, AC works as new (Ford dealer charged it in August, 2012 at 38,238 miles) · Drives straight, looks great, runs like a champ! This loaded top trim-line model F-150 5-seater had an original MSRP of $32,905. Clean CarFax and the Autocheck score (see above) is 90! This is a very solid one-owner F-150 with all original panels & paint. Purchased new by my dad in October, 1999 shortly after his retirement - he had a small sail boat and needed (wanted?) a truck. He used this as my parents' “3rd vehicle” in Northern Indiana until last month when he decided to sell it. The truck is currently in Zionsville, Indiana (Indianapolis) - I drove it down to my home after Thanksgiving in order to help list & sell it in a larger market. It has a clear title. Never driven roughly/off-road. This truck has been used for a few longer highway trips but otherwise driven around town with light use – rarely used to haul anything. Less than 200 miles towing a 12 foot sail boat. Bed was professionally lined when new and is in excellent condition (the photo truly doesn't do it justice). The interior is very clean as it was professionally detailed in 2012. Never seen a cigarette. The paint is in very good condition. All gauges work. 4X4 operates like new. Engine starts right up and sounds great. Good exceleration from the legendary 5.4L Triton V-8 (a version of which is currently still used in the Ford Shelby GT500). Solid ABS brakes with new fluid and less than 4,000 miles on the new rotors and calipers. Comes with complete original key set, remotes, service records, operators manual and a Merle Haggard CD in the 6-disc changer. The bed & panels are in very good shape – this is an attractive looking truck with a handsome paint combination. · Routine oil changes – many (excess of a dozen) & documented
·
Majority of misc. repair work performed at Fort
Wayne Ford Dealer & documented.
·
All recalls have been addressed at the Ford
dealer · Major fluids/filters last replaced at 27,755 (engine oil replaced far more regularly, of course.)
·
4 new Goodyear Wranglers installed with
alignment at 31,425
·
Fuel supply lines replaced at 37,109
·
Major brake service at 37,859 (replace pads,
front rotors and calipers)
·
Rear differential fluid last replaced at 37,859
·
New $110 BXT battery installed at Ford Dealer in
March, 2013
·
Most recent oil change was at 39,235 · New rear brake line and hose installed at 40,082 Extras include 2nd gas cap (one that locks), installed bug and winds guards (see photos) and brackets & removable supports for use with a bed tarp.
This truck is in excellent condition but it’s good to understand that this is not a new vehicle and
the truck does show wear & tear appropriate for its 40,000 mileage as a
personal-use vehicle (non-farm, non-worksite use). In the
interest of eliminating surprises, the following is noted:
·
The only damage that ever occurred on this truck
was a dent to rear bumper (a minor parking lot incident) – there’s a small dent visible
just right of the rear license plate (see photo).
·
As one should expect on a truck, surface rust is
found on the underside and there is a small hole on the rear bumper which is
unfortunately typical of the OEM bumpers for F-150 trucks. There was some minor paint flaking at the
very bottom of front doors but it has been touched up.
·
As with most tube steps, they are in so-so shape
(although recently painted to “look OK”).
If I were the owner, I’d remove them (they’re just bolted on) but some
people might appreciate the extra step so I have left them on.
·
The automatic door locks have a history of not working all the
time. With only 2 doors, it hasn’t
been worth getting it corrected (the Ford dealer quoted my dad under
$280). · There’s a slide-out coin tray that is supposed to “push in to slide out” but it doesn’t slide out when pushed (you have to pull it out).
Completing the sale: I have done my best to list the condition and be up front about the blemishes - so please, serious bidders only. Cash at time of pickup is preferred. A cashiers check is also acceptable so long as you provide the check details so I may call the issuing bank to confirm authenticity (please allow at least 1 business day). Title & Bill of Sale are ready & will be provided at time of purchase. I request the winning bidder please contact me within 24 hours after auction end. We are quite flexible on pick-up schedule – if you want to send me a $400 deposit, I’ll be happy to hold onto the truck for as long as a few weeks.
The truck is located in Zionsville, Indiana (Northwest Indianapolis metro area). The truck is within 10 minutes of US 65 and the outer belt around Indianapolis (US 465).
This
Ford F-150 will make a great truck for someone – it’s 100% ready for the farm
or construction site but it’d also continue to make a great daily driver or 3rd
vehicle for someone. I believe it to be 100% ready for long distance travel - no worries. If I had the
room in my garage, this truck wouldn’t be offered for sale!
If you are interested in seeing the truck and going for a test drive or
ask any question before the auction end date, please do not hesitate to contact
me at stephenbrown.1969@gmail.com.
On Dec-20-13 at 07:34:50 PST, seller added the following information: A number of interested parties have contacted me about a "buy-it now" price. Yes, we do reserve the right to sell this truck outside the auction if someone wishes to take a look and buy it for $12,000 cash (FIRM). We feel this truck is in excellent shape and there's a good chance the auction will exceed that price - but we'll end it early for $12,000 cash. Thanks! On Dec-21-13 at 13:00:58 PST, seller added the following information: A couple E-Bayers have inquired about the truck bed because the earlier the picture of the bed (the one with the tailgate down) showed some accumulated dirt that sort of looked like rust in the picture (but it is not rust). I wiped the dirt off this morning and took a new picture which has been added. During the process however, I did find some previously unknown rust on the end of the bed which you can't see very well because of the tailgate - it's entirely cosmetic and could be easily sanded and touched up. I might do so after Christmas if the weather gets more cooperative and the Ford dealer has the truck's red color touch up paint in stock. Also, the someone asked to see the underside of the truck - I've taken a picture to give a idea of what sort of surface rust is visible and will add the photo. On Dec-21-13 at 13:19:35 PST, seller added the following information: The bed, tailgate and underside photos can be seen via the link below. https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=AF9ADEA4A06B12DB!161&authkey=!AIVToOcxnLThDMo&ithint=folder%2c |

NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue
Mon, 29 Oct 2012A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
Xcar shows how to drive the Ford Model T
Wed, Jan 21 2015A couple of weeks ago Xcar posted a teaser review of the Ford Model T, a look at what the British duo would have been doing if they'd been doing their thing for 100 years. Now we have their complete, 12-minute take on the what might be, as they say, "arguably the most important car of the 20th century." Thankfully, instead of just a review, Xcar spends about half the time giving us a tour of history, from Ford's early days working for the Edison Illuminating Company to his racing days and founding of several car companies that either died or became other car companies after he left, like Cadillac. They also line up the pieces and the sales realities that led to Ford implementing – not creating, mind you – assembly-line production of the Tin Lizzie. And then they get into how crazy it is to drive, like how a driver needs two of the three pedals, the handbrake lever and a steering column stalk to get into high gear. Enjoy the video above on a 100-year-old car that is "unbelievably comfortable," "mildly terrifying" and ready to do just about anything.
How the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor became a reality
Wed, 01 May 2013The camouflaged Ford F-150 SVT Raptor prototype captured above blazing its way across the desert during a test run left company engineers giggling in amazement, reveals Jamal Hameedi in a new Autoweek video. Ford's global performance vehicle chief engineer, accompanied by senior exterior designer Bruce Williams, sat down with the publication to discuss the concept and development of the automaker's super off-road F-150.
Designing a high-performance pickup in 2008, right when the cost of gasoline was going through the roof, seemed insane at the time, but the team pushed forward with the innovative vehicle regardless. The interview includes plenty of Ford B-roll footage as visual candy, and the conversations include discussions about exterior design, ride comfort, anti-lock brake tuning, suspension engineering, weight reduction and why it was necessary to make the Raptor visually different than Ford's standard F-150. The model's origin story is very interesting, and you can learn more about it by watching the video below.
