Further details in description."

This truck runs great and is in great shape for its age.  It only has 22,337 original miles!  It has been in our family since it was new, and for the first 20 years it was kept in a Pennsylvania garage being driven roughly once a month.  Body was in mint condition when I got it in 2007 and the truck had 15,000 miles at that time.  It has been uncovered since 2007 and minor wear and tear on exterior has occurred since then, mainly on the front hood (shown in pictures).  See pictures for other minor blemishes.  I have all maintenance records since I have owned it and original owners manual.  Car Fax should be able to verify that Truck was in Pennsylvania for first 20 years being driven roughly 500 miles per year average.  I recently replaced the rear fuel tank and when I first got truck put on new tires, brakes, muffler, and replaced one of the locking hubs.  Truck has dual tanks though mixing valve has been replaced and I don't use front tank due to continued mixing valve issues.  (See from tank reminder label in pictures).

The Good:

Rare LOW MILES 22K Original.  (Not 122K despite only 6 digit odometer)
Excellent condition for truck of this age.
Little to no rust (one spot at door frame, shown in picture)
Beautiful 2 tone paint job with Matching 2 tone topper
Bed liner in great shape
4 speed, 6 cylinder
Great acceleration.  Motor has a lot of Pep.
4-wheel drive works great
Running boards in great shape.
Interior Vinyl in great shape.
Radio works.
Original wheels.
Original most everything.

The Bad:

Small bend in tailgate (as seen in pictures)
Compression mechanism to hold up topper door doesn't work (we prop board as seen in pictures)
Rust spot on driver side door frame (as seen in pictures)
No A/C
Heater coil was burned out and has been bypassed, so no Heat
Front tank does not work (it may be ok, but we use the rear tank only)
Small tear on driver seat (very small, but wanted to disclose it.  Shown in pictures)
Front hood paint has some bare spots.
Small scratch on driver side near front tank area.
Small depression at front left of vehicle.  Literally just noticed it for first time while looking vehicle over closely.  (See picture.)
Radio volume intermittent at certain loudness levels.
Dual tanks issue persists despite mixing valve being replaced.  As a result I only use rear tank and it works great.  Both tanks are 18 gal I believe.

Ford Explorer, Expedition next to go aluminum?

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

Ford made some serious waves when it unveiled the latest F-150. Instead of making its bodywork out of steel, like just about every other truck on the market, Ford went with aluminum. And you can bet the F-150 won't be the last Ford model to go with the lightweight alloy construction, either.
Our compatriots at Edmunds report that Dearborn is considering replacing two of its most popular SUVs with aluminum versions. One candidate is the Expedition, which would make sense considering that the current model (like the two preceding generations and the fullsize Bronco before it) is based on the F-150's underpinnings. Another is the Explorer, which was traditionally based on the Ranger pickup but went with a car-like unibody chassis in its current iteration. If the Explorer does go the way of aluminum, don't expect it to be a part of its very next update, which is likely due too soon for such major changes.
It would stand to reason that, if the Expedition were to go aluminum, so would the next-generation Lincoln Navigator. Ditto the MKT together with the Explorer. But those aren't likely to be the only models in contention for aluminum construction. Like any other automaker, Ford is under pressure to steadily reduce its carbon emissions and improve its fuel economy figures, prompting it to look at a whole range of measures - including more efficient engines, lower rolling-resistance tires, active aerodynamics and lightweight construction. Expect aluminum to play a big part in that equation moving forward.

Performance cars overpower the Detroit Auto Show

Tue, Jan 13 2015

At precisely the stroke of noon on Monday, the 2016 Acura NSX rolled on stage at the Detroit Auto Show amid plumes of smoke and dancing lights. The sounds of the powerful engine revving soared to the rafters. It was the second coming of Acura's iconic sports car, and the reveal had all of the expected trappings. Afterwards, champagne corks popped and the bubbly flowed. It was noon in Detroit, but for the green-car movement, it seemed like the clock had struck midnight. That's an exaggeration, but performance was the overwhelming theme of North America's most important show. Ford – which has helped lead the way in smaller displacement engines and early adoption of hybrid powertrains – had more than 1,500 horsepower on stage one point after it revealed the GT concept, the new F-150 Raptor and the Shelby Mustang GT350R. The NSX is technically a hybrid (it has three electric motors), but with 550-plus hp, there's no doubt this Acura was bred on the track. The theme continued throughout the show at nearly every stand. Alfa Romeo showed off the 4C Spider, which is the open-air version of a car that purports to be the spiritual successor of the high-performance 33 Stradale from 1967. On Tuesday, Cadillac is scheduled to reveal the 640-hp CTS-V with the V8 transplanted from the Corvette Z06, and the Lexus was expected to roll out its own V8-powered beast, the 467-hp GS F. For enthusiasts – especially enthusiasts with money – these are halcyon days. But make no mistake, all of this power has a purpose. Ford product chief Raj Nair said the Blue Oval uses high performance cars to develop technologies, like aerodynamics and materials, which are then shared across its lineup. "It's another proof point about how serious we are in developing innovation through performance," he said. Ford, which is rolling out at least 12 performance cars by 2020, said the sporty cars attract younger and more influential buyers to its fold, which can help burnish its image beyond adding sales volume. Toyota is taking a similar approach, senior vice president Bob Carter said, noting the Lexus RC coupe draws people into showrooms and gets them excited about the brand, even if they don't end up buying one. "They provide an aspiration and a halo that provides the attention that gets you noticed in a cluttered market," he said.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
