Due to health issues and a need to get to Indiana as soon as possible, I am selling my 89 Ford F150 XLT LARIAT loaded with most all the extras you could get. V8 5.0L Automatic OD. Gets about 12 to 13 mpg right now in and out of town. Currently has both class 3 or 4 tag along hitch and 5th wheel hitch installed with brake control. The only thing I can think of that might have been available is maybe a power seat that I do not have? It has everything else and it all works!!!!! A/C, power windows, locks, cruse, slider rear window, tilt steering wheel, power steering and brakes, automatic, etc. I have been in the process of restoring this to it's original condition while also using it as my main transportation. I have replace numerous things because it did sit for quite a while, including but not necessarily limited to: A/C compressor, dryer and accumulator, injectors, wires, cap, rotor, valve cover gaskets, etc. I also still have some things to do obviously. Even though I have removed and cleaned and replaced both fuel tanks with all fuel pumps and the transfer switch, and pick ups and senders only one bump is currently working and neither sender is working. Not sure why but like I said it is my daily driver and runs so fixing these issues has sort of taken a back seat for now. I also have the repair panel from a donor vehicle, to replace the banged up bed side behind the left rear wheel. The spare is just like all the other wheels also. Cold A/C converted to current refrigerant (134). I have replaced and checked out most everything that needs to be working good to drive it. I would not be afraid to get in it and head to Indiana which I might if it doesn't sell soon. Tires are getting pretty worn but still have tread. I also do have some spare parts that will go with it. Like the new window sweeps for the doors. I have replaced both window motors and door locks but for some reason the drivers door lock is not working and the window needs a little help to get all the way down. I think it just needs adjusted and I just haven't done that yet. It is showing only 88,000 or so and looking underneath it might just be original I don't know but it is very clean under the bed. It does have some rust in the back of the bed floor, above the extended cab windows and a couple of other small spots. Head liner is in great shape. Seats have some wear but work as they should and are not all torn up just typical wear from getting in and out. I have replace the counsel compartment but could not find the correct one so I cut two apart and made one. It just needs a little further finishing so you cannot see it was done. Can't think right now of anything else you might want to know.

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.
eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history
Sat, 03 May 2014You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.
Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout
Tue, Nov 25 2014Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT.
