2005 Ford F-150 Crew Cab 4x4, 3:73 Lsd, Line-x. Tint, Flowmaster on 2040-cars
Carmi, Illinois, United States
I am the second owner of this truck and I am going on 5 years of
ownership of it. The truck has been great with no complaints, has
handled every type of weather, work, or family situation I have thrown
at it. But I have purchased a bigger trailer recently and I am needing
to buy a 1ton. So this half ton has to go.
2005 F-150 4x4 Super Crew Cab 4 door with 123,000 miles Private Party Blue Book value $13,100 Silver, 5.4L V8, Automatic Trans, 3.73 Limited Slip rear Differential, Power Windows, Power Locks, CD player, Gray Cloth Interior, Seats 6 with a flip up center console in front. 8 cup holders!, Full tow package with Coolers for just about everything, Line-X spray in bed liner, Flow master Dual Exhaust with turn downs (not to loud but you now can actually tell it has a V8), Tinted Windows (fronts were tinted to match the factory rears). If you are in the market for an F150 with a 5.4L you will know that there are only two dreaded issues with this engine design that will hurt your pocket book. One is when changing spark plugs, they tend to break off in this engine making a simple task extremely expensive, sometimes over $500 for the job. The other is the passenger side exhaust manifold tends to warp and crack, this job can cost over $1000 dollars depending on how many studs break off in the head. But you are in luck because I just performed both of these less than 1000 miles ago, so you don't have to worry about them for another 100,000 miles or so. I have a bachelors in Automotive Technology and love my vehicles. this one I have treated right since I have owned it (65,000 miles) and it has treated me and my family very well in return.Item is for sale locally and I can end the auction at anytime. If you have any questions Please call or text me at 6.1.8-3.8.4-7.6.8.0 Thanks |

Ford to add more than 2,000 jobs in Kansas City
Thu, 02 May 2013Continued high demand for the Ford F-150, along with the addition of the all-new Transit series of commercial vehicles, has led Ford to announce that it will add over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant. At the time of the announcement, the plant boasts 2,450 hourly employees working on two shifts. All told, Ford will invest $1.1 billion in the Kansas City plant to expand truck production and begin producing the Transit series.
According to the automaker, fullsize truck sales are up 19 percent through April of 2013, leading to an additional 900 workers and a third shift of production for the F-150. Production of the Transit series will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, requiring an additional 1,100 workers. In addition, Ford estimates that a total of 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to its Kansas City plant to support the additional vehicle production.

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
