2003 Ford F-150 Svt Lightning Supercharged Lowered, Center Console, Hid's on 2040-cars
Crown Point, Indiana, United States
The truck is in fantastic condition and has very low miles.
Other than putting on Gatorback belts and a K&N air filter, the
engine and trans are completely stock and in perfect condition. The truck
has been lowered (the correct way) by using Ford Racing lowering springs in the
front, and Belltech leaf springs in the rear. After it was lowered the
truck was taken for an alignment. I also used shock extenders in the rear
so the ride is close to stock and there isn't any premature wear on the rear
shocks. The truck comes with a trailer hitch and both the headlights and fog
lights have been upgraded to HID lights, the reverse lights and bed lights have
been upgraded to super bright white LED bulbs. For the interior, I had a custom upholstery shop modify the
front passenger seat to allow space to put in a center console from a Ford
Expedition. The shop did an absolutely fantastic job on the seat, and I
bolted in the center console after tapping the factory drilled holes. For
some reason Ford pre drills all of the holes needed for a center console
(F-150's must come off the same assembly line as the Expeditions), so the
console bolts in perfectly. As you can tell by the photos, it looks
great. In the center console I installed an UltraGuage that connects to
the cars computer via the OBD II port. This gives me all of the stats on
the car that I could want. You can check out their website at
Ultra-Gauge.com. I
have also installed a Sony double din 7" touchscreen DVD/CD/MP3 player
with an HD Radio and XM tuner. I am also leaving in the Sony AMP and
10" subwoofer (built in a custom box that is installed behind the passenger
seat). The wheels I have put on are
chrome 20” Lightning reproduction rims. I wanted bigger wheels that were
chrome but still wanted the factory look. They have BF Goodrich tires
that have less than 1000 miles on them. The
trucks fluids have all been changed every year. The truck also comes with all of the 2003 Ford F-150 Service
Manuals/Wiring Diagrams. The truck
is in really, really good condition. The only issue is that there
is a chip in the plastic of the passenger side mirror (about $100 to replace
through Ford) and the chrome is chipping off the passenger door handle.. All four brake calipers have been professionally powder coated red. The truck also comes with the Ford OEM soft tonneau cover which is in great condition, and the bed itself has a spray in bed liner. Please send me an email
if you have any questions. |

Time to catch up with Jay Leno's Garage, including his Lamborghini Espada restoration
Tue, Dec 23 2014If you're already jealous of the time, effort and money that Jay Leno can devote to his massive car collection, prepare to get a little greener with envy with this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. Instead of the usual format of discussing a model for about ten minutes and then taking it out for a test drive, this week Leno gives viewers on a tour of over a dozen projects concurrently happening in his stable. The breadth of the vehicles shown and the things being done to them run the entire span of the automotive hobby. At the same time, Jay's shop is working on just a simple restoration of his 1969 Lamborghini Espada (pictured), and at the other side of the building, the team is rebuilding a wood-bodied 1914 Detroit Electric from scratch. He eventually plans to slot a more modern electric drivetrain into it. If bikes are more your interest, there's a freshly completed Brough Superior just waiting for a ride, and if American models are your thing, a Ford Bronco is getting a Coyote V8 installed into it. You have some very specific tastes if you can't watch this clip and start wishing at least one of these vehicles could be in your own garage. Other than the personal projects his mechanics are working on in the shop, Jay gets to have them all, plus plenty more.
2016 Ford Mustang SVT hides big power under its domed hood
Tue, 17 Jun 2014With a number of 2015 Ford Mustang versions finally available to configure, the fun of speculating about next year's high-performance 'Stang can now begin. It looks like Ford has something seriously fun planned too. One of our spy photographers just snapped some fresh pics of the 2016 Mustang SVT, which is believed to be hiding the final body shape under all of that heavy camouflage.
Ford clearly doesn't want prying eyes looking at its new pride and joy. It would be hard to put much more obfuscation on a car than this one wears - it even has mesh baffles around the exhausts to conceal how many there are and panels over the wheels to hide their design. However, the Blue Oval can't keep everything a secret. The biggest clue that something special is hidden underneath is the massive hood bulge and vent in front of it. Clearly, whatever is under there is hungry for cool air. The shape of the camo indicates that there may be fender vents on each side, and there are also obscured outlets behind the front wheels likely to pull cool air through the brakes. At the rear, the concealment does its job, making it hard to observe any big changes. The fact that Ford wants it kept such a secret might indicate something, though.
A few photos of the interior show far less cover than the outside. You can easily make out the model's 6,500 rpm redline with a possible 7,000 rpm over-rev function. The big Recaro sport seats also look quite supportive.
Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track
Thu, 29 Aug 2013The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. First things first, the old mill must go. Head on over to Road & Track to catch the latest chapter of Project Ugly Horse.
