Factory original 1999 Ford White Lightning. This is the 5.4 liter supercharged animal unleashed in 1999 by the SVT division... well you already know what it is! Purchased from the original owner at 4800 miles. This truck is 100% factory with no K&N, no chip, No mods whatsoever. This is a brand new V8 Factory hot rod and needs no apologies... The supercharger whine alone is worth the price! The only parts that did not come on the truck from the factory are the oil and oil filter. Everything works because it's all brand new! It is as close to perfect as any new vehicle fresh from the from the big blue oval Ford store. It is garaged near Charleston in South Carolina and lives a life of ease. I love this truck but here's the thing... It's my daily driver... the most practical of all my vehicles...but I drive all my old cars... and there is the rub... see the truck is perfect, no accidents, hardly any rain and nothing but premium unleaded... it's a darn museum piece!!! I welcome you or your agent to preview. My buddies tell me that I have an obligation to the collector car hobby, because of the remarkable condition, originality & low miles they say I should offer it up to a collector. A real collector who must have a low mile all original and unmolested example...  I have the original SVT certificate, title in hand, the original owner information, window sticker and a file with 100% of all of the work ever done (yearly oil changes at Ford Dealerships). With this auction, I wash my hands of the preservation responsibility... to bid or not to bid, that is the question... either way, I'm still driving it until you deliver the long green and when this auction ends there won't be another at this low mileage!!!

Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.

2015 Ford Mustang renders reveal look of the real thing

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

This is, according to the pony-car obsessed kids over at Mustang6G.com, the closest, most accurate rendering of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang to date. Artis Chazcron used a combination of Ford CAD images and information from assorted spy shots to assemble a fairly handsome car, albeit one that conforms to the tired cliché of being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
Now, it's very important to note that these are still speculative renders, and that they only represent the base car - that could explain the lack of the Mustang's vestigial side scoops, along with other, newer styling cues that Mustang6G seems to think will arrive on production models. Those items include a new, double-bubble roof, although the Mustang aficionados claim that even if it were present, it'd barely be visible from these angles.
The front end is pretty spot on, compared to what we've seen from earlier spy shots, while the tail, with its interesting light design is something new. The louvered taillights look quite different from the current version, obviously, though Mustang has gone the whimsical route with taillights before. Also, note the new rear diffuser uses an integrated reverse light and rear foglight, the latter of which is required for sale in Europe.

2015 Ford Mustang [w/videos]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It'd be unwise to bet against the sixth generation of this legendary nameplate.
The 2015 Ford Mustang is assuredly the most anticipated new vehicle of the year. The redesigned Pony Car has been the subject of frantic gossiping and covert spy photos covering everything from the way it looks to the tech it will include, its performance, mechanicals and a bevy of other aspects of Ford's performance icon.
