1955 Ford F-100, Short Bed, Custom Cab, with a 292 V8. I have a clear Utah Title in my name. This truck was restored and optioned by the previous owner. It was parked in his family's farm shed in Kansas. The owner passed away and the family left the truck, unattended, for over 25 years. I own the truck and have moved it to Utah, but I need to sell it. I have too many projects and not enough time. Please closely read my description and review all of the photos. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are getting. I highly value my 100% positive feedback on Ebay and I want the new owner to be satisfied with my truck The reserve on the truck is lower than its value.
The truck is very complete and comes with an extra, period correct, automatic transmission if you decided to change out the original manual transmission. This is a good restoration project. The major rust issue is in the driver's side floor. There are minor rust issues in the cab corners, but over all the rust problems are not serious and can be repaired without replacing panels. The Ford 292 V8 Engine is free and should start with a new set of spark-plug wires. The key to the locking gas cap is included along with the ignition keys. The wood bed slats are rotten and need to be replaced. The driver's side hood hinge doesn't work properly. The battery box has rust, but the battery box door and sides are in good condition. The truck has 1954 Chevrolet taillights that can be used or removed. The previous owner tried to wood panel the dash and door panels. The original metal is in good condition underneath the thin wood paneling. The interior was torn up and it is missing the seat. The seats are easy to find. Again, please look closely at all of the photos. If you have questions, please give me a call. My home phone number is (801) 745-0599 or email me through the Ebay message system. If you want to make a "Buy Now" offer, let me know. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks on Ebay, please call or email me before bidding. I want this to be a good, straightforward, auction. I can store the truck for a reasonable time period, and I will gladly ship the truck anywhere in the world. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and the truck is sold as is. You are welcome to come and see the truck if you want to. A $250.00 PayPal deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction closing - unless other arrangements are made. Good luck bidding. This is a good old truck that deserves a good restoration. |

Performance cars overpower the Detroit Auto Show
Tue, Jan 13 2015At precisely the stroke of noon on Monday, the 2016 Acura NSX rolled on stage at the Detroit Auto Show amid plumes of smoke and dancing lights. The sounds of the powerful engine revving soared to the rafters. It was the second coming of Acura's iconic sports car, and the reveal had all of the expected trappings. Afterwards, champagne corks popped and the bubbly flowed. It was noon in Detroit, but for the green-car movement, it seemed like the clock had struck midnight. That's an exaggeration, but performance was the overwhelming theme of North America's most important show. Ford – which has helped lead the way in smaller displacement engines and early adoption of hybrid powertrains – had more than 1,500 horsepower on stage one point after it revealed the GT concept, the new F-150 Raptor and the Shelby Mustang GT350R. The NSX is technically a hybrid (it has three electric motors), but with 550-plus hp, there's no doubt this Acura was bred on the track. The theme continued throughout the show at nearly every stand. Alfa Romeo showed off the 4C Spider, which is the open-air version of a car that purports to be the spiritual successor of the high-performance 33 Stradale from 1967. On Tuesday, Cadillac is scheduled to reveal the 640-hp CTS-V with the V8 transplanted from the Corvette Z06, and the Lexus was expected to roll out its own V8-powered beast, the 467-hp GS F. For enthusiasts – especially enthusiasts with money – these are halcyon days. But make no mistake, all of this power has a purpose. Ford product chief Raj Nair said the Blue Oval uses high performance cars to develop technologies, like aerodynamics and materials, which are then shared across its lineup. "It's another proof point about how serious we are in developing innovation through performance," he said. Ford, which is rolling out at least 12 performance cars by 2020, said the sporty cars attract younger and more influential buyers to its fold, which can help burnish its image beyond adding sales volume. Toyota is taking a similar approach, senior vice president Bob Carter said, noting the Lexus RC coupe draws people into showrooms and gets them excited about the brand, even if they don't end up buying one. "They provide an aspiration and a halo that provides the attention that gets you noticed in a cluttered market," he said.
Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.
Ford C-Max sales hold steady despite fuel economy fracas
Mon, 09 Sep 2013Despite the ballyhoo that accompanied Ford's lowering of the C-Max fuel economy figures, the Blue Oval is still seeing strong demand for the five-seat MPV, as Automotive News reports. Speaking to marketing boss Jim Farley, AN says that the controversy surrounding the C-Max's fuel economy figures won't force Ford to change its marketing strategy.
Ford lowered the fuel economy rating of the C-Max after public outcry and legal action by customers that were unable to reach the 47 miles per gallon promised by the window sticker. The new ratings were dropped about a month ago to 45 mpg on the freeway and 40 mpg in the city. Ford offered rebates for current C-Max owners, with $550 going to those that bought their car and $325 to lessees. The issue, says Ford, stemmed from testing standards that allowed the automaker to base the C-Max's fuel economy on the Fusion Hybrid, because they use identical powertrains. The C-Max's less aerodynamic shape wasn't taken into account, though.
Whether Ford's PR team handled the crises perfectly or people just aren't that bothered by a four-mpg drop in combined ratings, demand remains strong for the C-Max among consumers. Ford moved 3,000 units in August, which was a 12-percent jump over July sales. Meanwhile, consumer demand through third-party shopping websites remains strong as well, according to Autometrics, a data analysis company that spoke with Automotive News. While the long-term effects of the adjustments remain unknown, the C-Max appears to have fared well in the near term.
