This is a rare find for someone who loves classic trucks, and doesn't just want to keep them in the garage but enjoys a truck that drives every day.

I bought this for my 16-year old daughter about a year ago.  When I bought it, it was in good running condition but needed a little work to get it to a comfortable, safe, every-day vehicle.  When I started doing work on it, I let her drive my late model F-250, and she loves my big truck so much she wants to keep driving it, and I've enjoyed driving this 1964 F-100 so much I commute up and down I-70 every day, and never had a problem.  My wife's parents recently gave us their used SUV, and (to my regret) the old '64 is one extra vehicle than we need.  I've kept records of every part, repair and service over the past year.

First here's the overall description of the truck you're bidding on:

- 1964 Ford F-100 short bed

- Great-working 4-wheel drive - a rare and valuable find on a truck of this vintage - with manual locking hubs

- Re-built upon a 1983 Ford F-150 drive train, chassis and engine

- Front disc brakes

- Power steering

- Edelbrock 305 V-8 engine, 4-barrel carb, automatic transmission - in disclosure, I really have no idea how many miles are on the engine - it leaks a little oil (but doesn't burn it), and runs great

- Dual exhaust with glass packs

- Super clean exterior re-painted with the original factory color of the truck in Ford Green

- No notable rust

- 15-inch custom wheels enhancing the truck's stance and retaining the classic looks

- Gas tank moved from original position (behind the bench seat) and mounted between the frame rails under the bed (seems safer to me!)

- Newer (however used - from an F-150 salvage) side-mounted mirrors for better visibility

- After-market stereo with CD player and speakers (I have them wired in, but not mounted very pretty yet pending a new headliner)

- Floor covering in great shape with no tears

In addition, here are other minor but important enhancements/upgrades I've made:

- Completely covered floors, behind the seat, and internal firewall with sound-proofing and fire-proofing fabric for safety, noise dampening, and insulation (haven't gotten to the ceiling liner yet - will have to be the next owner)

- Added "saddle blanket" style seat cover over original bench seat.  The seat has a minor seam gap that wasn't big enough for me to bother with, but it's on the driver side

- New steering linkage and tie rods

- New shocks

- New alternator

- New high capacity battery

- New high capacity radiator - brand new

- Replaced door sealing for tighter fit, insulation and noise dampening

- Added extra seal to top of doors - you need to shut the doors a little harder to get them closed, but I like it because it's better insulated and lower noise, but if shutting them easier is what you want, they are easily removed

- Sprayed additional coat of liquid sealer to interior (non-visible) door panels for additional sound proofing

- Welded post in bed to secure spare rim/tire (spare rim is same size however not same style as four mounted rims)

- Replaced the seals on the vent windows, plus replaced the hood bumpers to eliminate rattles here and there

- Ford F-100 "arrow" style emblems on either side of the hood.  These don't match the original "badge-style" for the '64, but I just think they look cooler and add to the truck's appearance

- Re-built heater core that works like a charm - including de-frost that works equally well (replaced one of the defroster ducts), ran new hoses from radiator and re-painted core cover visible from inside the truck

- Installed a wiper washer resevoir and electric pump, tubing, spray mounts on hood, along with electrical switch on dash - wipers work great

- NEW 15-inch all-terrain tires - these have less than 300 miles on them; I hesitated to replace them before sale but one of the others was starting to dry rot and I felt better about selling it with fresh rubber

The only disclosures I'd make to be sure the buyer of this great truck feels all has been mentioned:

The original radio cover on the dash isn't all that well-secured.  I have it held down with some loose screws and added rubber strip under it for anti-vibration but it would be extremely easy to secure this.  There's a small scratch (pictured) on the passenger side.  There's some missing knobs - a couple on the dash, the window cranks - but I haven't gotten around to re-painting the dash and putting the fit and finish on interior stuff like that.  The hood secures tight, but I notice a larger gap on the passenger side than on the driver side - this isn't a problem, just cosmetic, and adjusting hood springs isn't something I've gotten around to.  There is also a light scrape (not a dent) on the front passenger side corner (also pictured).  The antennae works, but needs a new exterior rod (screw on type).  I've taken pictures of any/all exterior stuff so you can see for yourself.

The truck has never left Colorado since I've owned it, and where it will ship from if you are out of state (seller responsible for shipping), and I'm one of those guys who washes his truck every week, and have applied two coats of polish to the paint to keep it nice.  This is a fun, every-day truck – rare 4x4 in an old classic like this, power steering and disc brakes and head-turning exterior.  If I had a dollar for every time someone left a note on my windshield that they'd like to buy it I wouldn't have to list it here...!

Happy bidding.

Ford CEO Jim Hackett reviewing the future of technology, Lincoln, overseas markets

Mon, Jul 31 2017

By Paul Lienert and Joseph White Ford Chief Executive Jim Hackett is reviewing the automaker's operations in India and other markets, as well as Ford's future product programs including plans to build a self-driving commercial vehicle in 2021. Hackett, who took over as CEO in May, has told investors he is working on a 100-day review of Ford's operations but has so far provided few details of the process, except to indicate that it is looking at the automakers' luxury vehicle strategy, the future of its small vehicles and investments in emerging markets. Ford Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told Reuters in an interview that the review covers a range of issues, including Ford's strategy for India. "We have a lot of work to do (as) we address issues of how to fix India," Shanks said. "Everything is on the table." General Motors in May said it would stop selling cars in India but continue to produce vehicles there for export. Shanks said no decisions have been made and noted that Ford has a larger business in India than GM did. "We are very cognizant that will be the third-largest market in the world," he said. "Some big decisions will be made," Shanks said, but he cautioned Ford may not disclose all those decisions at the end of the 100-day review. Hackett is addressing challenges that have contributed to a nearly 8 percent decline in Ford's share price this year. The review of the Lincoln luxury brand includes whether current plans will meet former CEO Mark Fields' ambitious targets for growth and revenue, people familiar with the process said. Ford has set a target of putting a self-driving shuttle into commercial ride-sharing fleets by 2021. Hackett is reviewing the investment and timing for that project, the sources said. Hackett also assessing whether to reduce and consolidate production of models such as the Fiesta subcompact and two midsized sedans that are built in multiple locations around the world, but are experiencing slowing demand. One proposal would shift production of the next-generation Mondeo midsized sedan from Europe to Mexico, where it would share an assembly line with its sibling, the Ford Fusion, avoiding the cost of retooling two plants. Shortly after he took charge, Hackett approved a proposal to shift production of the next-generation Focus for North America from Mexico to China, saving the company an estimated $500 million by consolidating two factories into one.

Ford Ka Concept shown in Brazil, could enter production by 2014

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

The Ford Ka (pronounce it like a Bostonian saying "car") is the Blue Oval's sub-Fiesta offering in a number of markets that aren't North America. It's been a staple in Europe since it launched in 1996 and in South America since 1997, where it's enjoyed quite a bit of popularity as an affordable, efficient city car.
The European and South American models grew apart over the years, until Europe ended up with a Fiesta-inspired car and Brazil retained a more evolved version of the original Ka's styling. With this Ka Concept, which is really a concept in name only, Ford is previewing a Ka not just for the European market, but as the brand's new, global small car. With city car sales expected to grow dramatically in coming years and the ever increasing price of fuel, Ford's move to get a new, competitive car into the market on a global level isn't surprising.
Wearing Ford's new, familial grille, the Ka Concept features the same crisp, sculpted sheetmetal that's adorned the Fusion and Fiesta. Developed in-house by Ford Brazil, a production version could launch by 2014, according to Ford's press release. It's unclear what engines will sit under this car's hood, although we'd bet the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Fiesta will be available at some point.
