Ford 4x4 1957 1958 1959 1960 1961 1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 on 2040-cars
Hudson, Florida, United States
I am the 2nd. owner, I flew to OK. from FL. over 25 yrs. ago and drove it back to Fl., it had aprox. 60K on it, it now has 90K orig. miles. I sanded the orig. Ford paint off of it MYSELF, it had never been repainted, I have a book of pic's to show all the work I've done on it. I also have a log book with all part #'s and where I bought the parts. I put in all new glass, still all in perfect shape, I painted it over 20 yrs. ago, it's not a SHOW paint job, it is showing it's age, but a VERY good driver, I still clean it up and take it to local car shows, it draws a lot of lookers, they all ask if I made it a 4X4, it is the 1st. yr. for a FACTORY 4X4, there is a very few Ford 4X4's before 1959, but they are NOT Factory built. The truck sit for over 5 yrs. in my garage, while I was busy with the 53 COE in the pic's, I pulled it out and went thru all the brakes, wheel cyl's, master cyl., clutch master cyl., the clutch slave cyl., all new tires, oil change, this was all done about 1 yr. ago and I've been driving it weekly, the A/C just quit a few weeks ago, it is an aftermarket under dash unit, I put in all new hoses, new dryer & expansion valve, it's cooling fine, no overheating problem with the A/C running, even at idle in heavy traffic, the truck has NO history of over heating, even towing with it. I used it as an everyday driver for many yrs. and in my business towing boats, I had my own boats sales & service, I've towed around 6-7K lbs many times, it will pull in 4th gear as low as 15 MPH when towing. I did change out the pts. for an elec. setup, no more pts. to adjust. The truck runs GREAT, shifts fine, the 4 wheel drive works fine, it has Warn hubs on it. There is few things that the truck needs, it's NOT perfect, the front springs have sagged a little, there is a pic. of the bump stop close to the springs, driving on paved roads it's OK, but hard bumps it will bottom out on the stops, I have NEVER run the truck OFFROAD, it has never been in the mud or sand, to much work in it for that, and I'm past that now, I'm over 60 yrs. old, LOL If you want to make it a SHOW truck, then you will want to repaint it. I would drive it anywhere, in the pic's, you will see it at an idle, 40psi oil pressure. In the past I have driven it on a 2K mile trip, no problems at all. It is not fast, it has all the orig. running gear under it, I drive it around 55-60 mph, it does fine. I really think you will not find a better orig. Ford 4X4 anywhere, it does not have power steering or power brakes, when towing you'll wish it had disc brakes, I've thought about putting disc on it many times, but never did, when I 1st. bought it, I was planning a street rod, big 460, later model running gear-etc., but after driving it to Fl. from Ok., it was just to darn GOOD a truck to chop it up, I would like to see it stay orig. I want a buyer to be happy with it, I really think you should make to trip to Fl. to see it, I live north west of Tampa, that would be the closest to fly into if you wanted to see it or drive it home. I would drive it to the airport so you could see it, I would even drive it to it's new home if you pay my airfare back to Fl. I can also help arrange overseas shipping if needed, I can deliver to Fl. ports for shipping. A $500.00 dep. with Pay-Pal with in 48 hrs. will be OK, CASH or wire transfer, any type of check, money order-etc., I will wait 30 DAYS for it to clear before releasing the truck, I do have a clear title in my name. The truck is also listed local, so if it sells local then I will take down this posting. If you buy it and pay the dep. thru Pay-Pal and you don't want it after seeing it, then I will refund your dep. I do have many pic's, you can e-mail me for more if you want, my ph. # 727 869 7847

Watch Ken Block's scary Rally America crash from inside the cockpit
Wed, 19 Feb 2014Ken Block became famous for his series of Gymkhana videos, but he's a real racer in his own right. Block has competed many rounds in the FIA World Rally Championship and also rallied in the 2013 Rally America series. He nearly won that latter title last year - if not for a massive crash in the final event of the season.
Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino went into the Lake Superior Performance Rally needing a win to take the championship. However, missing a clump of dirt on the side of the road and one little word in the pace notes was all it took to catapult Block's Fiesta off the road and into a tumbling accident. Block says his initial reaction was anger because the crash came out of nowhere.
For 2014, Block is joining the FIA World Rallycross Championship for at least three rounds. He'll drive a Ford Fiesta for the Hoonigan Racing Division at the Norwegian, French and Turkish events of the 12-round championship. Former Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will also compete in the series.
Saleen SA-30 Mustang, Camaro and Challenger help celebrate the big 3-0
Fri, 22 Nov 2013After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
For that money, buyers will get upgraded suspension, brakes and engines, and while the power figures have not been released for the SA-30 620 Camaro and SA-30570 Challenger models, the SA-30 302 Mustang will be the top performer with 625 horsepower. Each car will be painted up in a custom pearl white hue with black and yellow accents, and get white wheels shrouding yellow powder-coated brake calipers. Inside, the SA-30 offerings will all get a proper Saleen interior with black leather and white Alcantara on the seats, along with the expected smattering of SA-30 badges.
On all three SA-30 models, customers will have various options available to further customize their cars, including a rear-seat delete option that transforms each car's cabin into a race-inspired interior with a chassis-strengthening rear cross brace. Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, is the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass that is an option on the SA-30 302 Mustang. Similar to the Mercedes Sky Control roof first introduced on the Mercedes SLK, the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass allows the Mustang's optional glass roof and rear window to be switched from transparent to opaque at the push of a button.
