Classic, Vintage, Hot Rod, Show Truck, Fully Restored, Old School, Iconic F100 on 2040-cars
Orem, Utah, United States
1956 Ford F100 I've owned several '56 F100's over the years and this is by far one of my favorites. I purchased this from an elderly gentleman in Salt Lake City who had an extensive restoration done on the truck back in 1994-95. He had most all of the work done professionally. Once restored he drove it on an occassional Sunday afternoon and took it to local car shows. Up until I purchased it last summer it sat in his garage for the better part of the last 10 years and was started regularly and looked after by his son. Since purchasing it I have made several changes to my liking to turn it into what you see today. Recent upgrades/changes include: NEW Aluminum Radiator Tune-up Brand NEW BFGoodrich T/A Radials all around Brand NEW Cragar "Steelies" Chrome Wheels w/Moon Caps from Summit Racing Sanded and refinished the CHERRYWOOD bed panels Added "Shorty" rear bumper brackets Added NEW spare tire cover All NEW hood emblems and step plates from Vintage Ford Brand NEW custom made and professionally installed interior (seat upholstery and door panels---great quality and workmanship) Running boards freshly painted to match Cranberry Red body color (they were originally black) I'm probably forgetting a few things, but that about covers it. The truck runs great, drives great, and shifts through all gears properly and smoothly. Mechanically it is very solid with no fluid leaks. The engine is the ORIGINAL 272 CID Y-block V8 with the original "3 on the tree" manual transmission. Both the engine and the transmission were rebuilt when the truck was restored in '94-95. Very few miles have been put on the truck since the rebuild/restoration. The truck drives straight down the road and the brakes work great as well. All of the glass is in perfect condition (no chips, cracks, or scratches) and all window seals are new. The interior shows beautifully and the combination of the black upholstery, red dash/metal, and white headliner is sharp looking. All body panels line up as they should and the doors shut and open nicely. New door latch hardware was also installed on both door jambs. The interior looks and smells new. The Cherrywood bed looks amazing next to the Cranberry Red paint. All chrome is in fantastic shape. The pictures show just how nice this '56 is. I know the new owner will be very pleased. There is no rust or rot anywhere on the truck. I would rate the paint a solid 9 out of 10. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 10 is there are a few small paint "nicks" here and there that happened while it was stored that have been touched up. They're small enough that they wouldn't show in pictures. It shows very respectfully and will draw a crowd and compliments at any show. Feel free to ask any questions before bidding. I'm happy to give my phone number to serious buyers to discuss the truck. Please only bid if you have the finances in order to complete the purchase. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, this is a 58 year old vehicle and as such is an "as is" sale with no warranties expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements but I will help all I can on my end to make it go smoothly for your transport. I have used several shippers in the past that I've been very pleased with and can recommend them to the buyer if needed. Good luck and Bid to Win !! |

Ford's Troller introduces even more rugged T4 SUVs in Sao Paulo
Mon, 27 Oct 2014The Bronco may be long gone from Ford dealerships back home, but down in Brazil its spirit lives on in the Troller brand. Founded independently in 1995, Ford do Brasil took over Troller in 2007 and has been teasing us with its rough-and-tumble SUVs ever since. So with the Sao Paulo Motor Show coming up, Troller has revealed this special version of the T4.
Looking even more rugged than the existing three-door sport-ute, this special T4 packs a snorkel, winch, upgraded bumpers and knobbier tires. We're not sure what to make of the "sophisticated" brown and tan paint job, but send it north and the Jeep Wrangler would have a new challenger on its hands... especially since the Toyota FJ Cruiser was discontinued.
Alongside the version seen here, Troller will also exhibit another T4 outfitted for rescue workers. Scope out initial details of both in the press release below, enclosed in both its original Portuguese and auto-translated into English.
2013 Shelby 1000 unleashes its 1,200 horsepower ahead of NY show reveal
Fri, 22 Mar 2013True story: Last fall, I had the opportunity to spend a week with Ford's new 2013 Shelby GT500 - the Blue Oval's factory Mustang with 662 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque. It's an amazing beast, to be sure. I'm not sure if it was Michigan's damp streets strewn with potholes and wet leaves, but at no point did I ever say to myself, "You know, Ford is on to a really good thing here, but what it really needs is about twice the power." And yet, for people in warmer climes with infrastructure in better nick - or for those whose muscle cars live their lives out on the track, there's apparently sufficient demand to warrant just such a beast.
Quick studies will recall that Shelby American launched its 1000 last year to commemorate its 50th anniversary, but it is returning to the New York Auto Show with a fresh version based on the 2013 GT500 I drove. The 2013 Shelby 1000 whips up 1,200 horsepower on pump gas thanks to beefed-up forced induction, engine internals and cooling. Wisely, it also incorporates an adjustable suspension and big brake package to make sure those ponies have the best chance being safely deployed to the ground.
What price the world's most powerful "production" muscle car? $154,995 for starters - donor GT500 not included. What, no convertible variant?
Ford shutters Genk assembly plant in Belgium
Tue, Dec 23 2014Ford has become the latest automaker to close one of its European assembly plants. The facility in question is located in the Belgian city of Genk and has been in operation since the early '60s when it started building the Taunus, Ford's first mass-produced, front-drive model. As part of the plan first announced over two years ago, the Genk Body & Assembly Plant is now closing its doors after half a century in the business and over fourteen million vehicles built. Although the plant itself employed some 5,000 workers, once you take into account the suppliers built up around the plant, the overall impact on employment in the area edges closer to 12,000. Genk Body & Assembly had until recently been tasked with producing the Mondeo sedan (which in its current iteration we know as the Fusion) as well as the S-Max and Galaxy minivans. Production of the Mondeo shifted in 2013 to the company's plant in Valencia, Spain, which also handles the Kuga crossover and Transit Connect cargo van, and will soon take over the minivans from Genk as well. The move follows a similar decision undertaken by General Motors to close the Opelwerk plant in Bochum, Germany. It also reflects a scaling down of automobile production in Belgium specifically: although Audi still manufacturers in Brussels and and Volvo in Ghent, Opel closed its plant in Antwerp in 2000 and Renault ceased production in Vilvoorde back in '97. However Ford still maintains its famous proving ground half an hour to the north in Lommel, Belgium.
