1973 Ford (F-11) F-100 Ranger 4x4 Original old school 4wd Correct numbered chassis & trim. Only 88K miles on box 'A' title. True factory 4x4 model, not an aftermarket conversion. Anyone can 'say' their truck is rust free. But if it's been repainted then you will never know what the previous owner started out with, how much body work or bondo was required, etc. It might have been a rusty old pile of junk that someone threw a bunch of money and now the owner claims that "rust free". You cannot restore a vehicle 'back' to original, as it's truly only original once. So, it's either a survivor or it isn't. This truck is an AZ rust free totally unrestored with all original 1973 Ford sheetmetal, paint, trim. Please look at data plate info below and compare to what truck has in it now. As you can see it's pretty darn close. If you have any questions please feel free to call me Mike at 623-465-0636 NADA average retail $9,200 and high retail is $15,200. I have reserve set FAR BELOW these prices, in fact it is closer to average WHOLESALE range. Someone is going to get an extremely nice truck at a great price. Original VIN & DATA PLATE shows as: WheelBase -133 (full length long box), Engine -Y-(360 2v), Axle -H2J-(3.50 Limited Slip), Trans -A-(4 speed man. 'New Process 435'), DSO -75-(Phoenix), Body -034-(Ranger cab Styleside), Color -8R-(Dark Yellow), Model -F113-(F-100 4x4), GVWR - 5700lbs. I purchased this low mileage F-100 right here in Phoenix (sold here and has been here it's whole life) and have been driving and updating for the last 3 years. 88,036 miles. All original paint, sheetmetal, & trim looks extremely nice so miles may be original. Very slight body damage to right rear sheet metal & trim at wheel well (see photo) otherwise all original and excellent. I believe hood and cabin top were re-painted long ago, but rest of truck is original. Comes with vintage aluminum/wood shell. Trailer hitch with lights. Stereo added. Custom package tray shelf in cab above windshield works great and looks good. Custom headliner (Ford) inscribed with chromed buttons (looks great, very cool old school look). Front chromed push bar with KC lights. Dual fuel tanks both work great with switch & sending units both operational. 4x4 transfer case, hubs, all work great. 4 speed trans. with granny low, and 3 speed (w/neutral) transfer case. Will climb any hill. Ford 9" LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIALS were a factory option and are included here. Originally came with A/C but no belt on compressor. A/C is NON OP at this time. Heater works great, all dash fan, vents, etc. Stereo works great but it's an older cassette type. All original glass is great except windshield cracked over on passenger side (does not hinder drivers vision). Some minor surface rust on chrome front push bar and side mirrors. Came originally with power brakes and these have been all newly rebuilt. Power steering just added with all new OEM Ford parts. All brakes new with new drums, pads, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, etc. 4 wheel drum brakes work excellent. Parking brake adjusted. Transfer case rear differential all re-sealed with new bearings, etc. New valve cover gaskets. I have all receipts totalling over $4,500 including new tires. Newer gas shocks. Stock ride height---NOT lifted. Truck handles great and is a very smooth and comfortable truck to drive. You'll really like driving this one. The 360 2v motor was the most powerful engine you could get in '73. It has since been upgraded with: aftermarket headers, Edelbrock aluminum 4bbl intake manifold, Edelbrock 4 bbl carb all works excellent. Accel ignition works great. Aftermarket vintage Holley aluminum valve covers (these are rare and very cool). Dual 2-1/4" exhaust all the way back with Cherry bomb style mufflers at tips. Not too loud either. Nice lope to cam, sounds great at idle. Engine starts easy and runs extremely well. This is a great running truck. Vintage American Racing wheels (non-polished), Brand new BFG Rugged Terrain's (less than 200 miles) sized 31x10.5x15's all around. Spare tire & wheel. Bed looks like it had a 5th wheel hitch installed at one time and support bars are still visible on top of bed. KC lights only one working. This truck is solid DRIVER quality, and NOT a concourse show truck. Drive this truck every day and have a ball with it. Nice enough to take to any car show and get a trophy in the unrestored and original class. Extremely hard to find these trucks in this kind of condition. Most have been hammered and beaten to death or severely rusted out----not this one. Anyone can take a rusted out turd and throw a million dollars at it, and of course it would probably be nicer than this. But, to find one wearing it's original sheetmetal and paint, and driving as nice as this one does would most likely take years of looking to find again. This is a great looking truck and it's ready to go. Please call or email me for information -- Mike at 623-465-0636 INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: I can ship out of country for you. Please inquire for prices. Ford recalls select Explorer, E-Series vans
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Just a few days ago we brought you news that Ford had issued a recall on 28,000 units of the Edge crossover for problems related to the fuel line. But now the Blue Oval has issued recall notices on two more of its larger vehicles.
The first relates to the Explorer, 395 examples of which from the 2011 and 2012 model years were found to have problems with their steering systems if they underwent service after September 1, 2013. An apparent software glitch could lock the steering gear, preventing the driver from steering the vehicle and thereby increasing the risk of a crash. As a result, Ford dealers are being instructed to check their records to identify the problematic vehicles and bring them in to have the steering gear replaced. Details of the recall can be found in the PDF linked here.
The second problem revolves around E-Series vans that may develop bubbles in their windshields under hot temperatures. The decrease in visibility through the problematic windshield could - you guessed it - "increase the risk of a crash." As a result, Ford is calling in 4,532 units of the E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans built in the relatively short window between May 12 and May 26, 2011. Details of this recall can be found in the notice below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The next-generation wearable will be your car
Fri, Jan 8 2016This year's CES has had a heavy emphasis on the class of device known as the "wearable" – think about the Apple Watch, or Fitbit, if that's helpful. These devices usually piggyback off of a smartphone's hardware or some other data connection and utilize various onboard sensors and feedback devices to interact with the wearer. In the case of the Fitbit, it's health tracking through sensors that monitor your pulse and movement; for the Apple Watch and similar devices, it's all that and some more. Manufacturers seem to be developing a consensus that vehicles should be taking on some of a wearable's functionality. As evidenced by Volvo's newly announced tie-up with the Microsoft Band 2 fitness tracking wearable, car manufacturers are starting to explore how wearable devices will help drivers. The On Call app brings voice commands, spoken into the Band 2, into the mix. It'll allow you to pass an address from your smartphone's agenda right to your Volvo's nav system, or to preheat your car. Eventually, Volvo would like your car to learn things about your routines, and communicate back to you – or even, improvise to help you wake up earlier to avoid that traffic that might make you late. Do you need to buy a device, like the $249 Band 2, and always wear it to have these sorts of interactions with your car? Despite the emphasis on wearables, CES 2016 has also given us a glimmer of a vehicle future that cuts out the wearable middleman entirely. Take Audi's new Fit Driver project. The goal is to reduce driver stress levels, prevent driver fatigue, and provide a relaxing interior environment by adjusting cabin elements like seat massage, climate control, and even the interior lighting. While it focuses on a wearable device to monitor heart rate and skin temperature, the Audi itself will use on-board sensors to examine driving style and breathing rate as well as external conditions – the weather, traffic, that sort of thing. Could the seats measure skin temperature? Could the seatbelt measure heart rate? Seems like Audi might not need the wearable at all – the car's already doing most of the work. Whether there's a device on a driver's wrist or not, manufacturers seem to be developing a consensus that vehicles should be taking on some of a wearable's functionality.
