Little Rock, Arkansas, United States

You are bidding on a garage kept VERY CLEAN all original1975 Ford F-100 XLT with 71k original miles. This truck is the highly sought after XLT model that came equipped with factory 360 ci engine, A/C, Power disc brakes and automatic transmission. The truck is factory Red and White with Red interior. The truck spent its entire life garaged and pampered and it definitely shows when you see this thing in person. This truck was purchased in 1976 at White County Motor Company here in Searcy, Arkansas and has never been in any accidents or abused. Since this truck has always been garaged and is a Southern truck, its completely rust free and has had no problems associated with the northern vehicles that have corrosion problems from the salt. I'm selling the vehicle for a friend who inherited the truck when his grandfather (original owner)  passed away a few years back. The only reason for the sale is he doesn't know much about classic cars, plus he hasn't driven the truck and its only taking up space in his garage. Everything on the truck works as it should. A/C blows cold and the 360 ci V8 purrs like a kitten. Truck runs and drives great and goes straight down the highway with no shimmy or rattles. You can jump in this thing and go, whether its across town or a trip across country. Everything is original including the radio and spare tire under the bed that appears to have never been used.  I've included pictures of the original literature that came with the vehicle when purchased including owners manual and warranty information. If you are interested in coming to take it for a drive please email or call and ill be more than happy to meet you. If you're unable to come look at the truck, please have a 3 party come check it out before bidding. I've tried to be as thorough as possible with the description but i'm sure i've left some things out. Don't hesitate to call with any questions and ill try my best to answer them. The truck is for sale locally so seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time. This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid to win. These trucks are getting harder to find and you will be hard pressed to find one in this shape with the low miles this one has. Seller will help with shipping up to 30 miles and will be more than happy to meet the lucky buyer at the Little Rock Airport if you want to fly in and drive her home! Deposit of $500 due when auction ends and full payment within 48 hours. Please do not bid if you have negative or ZERO feedback. I will cancel your bid immediately. I just sold my 73 F-100 in a previous auction and the buyer was more than pleased (see recent feedback) and im confident this truck is actually in better shape than mine. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!

Ford cuts 950 Russian jobs on weak demand

Thu, 03 Apr 2014

The Russian auto market, in decline for the past year and further hit by the declining value of the ruble and recent sanctions over its annexation of Crimea, has forced Ford to cut jobs and shifts at two of its joint venture plants there. Around 700 of the 2,700 total workers who build the Russian-market Focus and Mondeo will be cut at the plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg as it drops to a single production shift. A second plant about 700 miles away in Yelabuga, in the Tartarstan region, will lose 250 workers. That plant builds seven vehicles, including the Explorer, Kuga and Edge.
The Moscow Times says Ford has been especially hit by the market decline, the overall market losing 5.5 percent in 2013 compared to the year before, but Ford sales dropping 18 percent in 2013 year-on-year. This year isn't going any better, with The Blue Oval posting a 21-percent decline through the first two months of 2014. That's why, though the Yelabuga plant builds the CUVs that customers are moving into, even it is facing cuts.
The job cuts in Vsevolozhsk come on top four-week plant shutdown planned so that the paint and body shops can go to one shift. In a statement, the company said, "Ford Sollers remains absolutely committed to the Russian market and is confident it has the right product plan, people and assets to deliver long-term profitable growth."

2014 Saleen George Follmer Edition Mustang debuts at Lagun Seca

Sat, 17 Aug 2013

Saleen used the occasion of the race-fueled Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to announce its new Heritage Collection Lineup. The event was punctuated with the debut of the collection's first member, the 2014 Saleen George Follmer Edition Mustang.
Follmer's name will likely sound familiar to fans of American racing in the 1960s and '70s. The driver competed in Formula One with the Shadow team in 1973, ran the Indianapolis 500, was the Can-Am champion in 1972 and drove stock cars in NASCAR's Winston Cup as well. The multi-disciplined driver is now one of three -the other two being Mark Donohue and Swede Savage - with the honor of upcoming, limited edition Saleen-tuned vehicles..

My year in EVs: 8 electrics that are changing the car industry

Wed, Dec 1 2021

The year 2021 will go down as an inflection point in the auto industry’s transition to electric vehicles. It's when many much-anticipated models became reality. No longer sketches or sketchy prototypes, electric vehicles appeared from all corners with everything from the Lucid Air to Ford Mustang Mach-E changing how we think about transportation. I managed to drive a lot of them, and as I went through my notes, I realized IÂ’ve got a mini memoir of the seminal EVs of 2021. HereÂ’s my take on eight of them. Hummer EV Easily the most over-the-top EV I tested this year. The 1,000-hp super truck lived up to the hype with its domineering presence, stupendous power and simply being a reincarnated Hummer. I took it for a short spin on- and off-road at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Mich., and was impressed with the airy cabin, removable sky panels and expansive touchscreens. Yes, I crab walked, which felt like steering a pontoon boat, though I can see why it would be useful. Lucid Air Dream Performance The most beautiful sedan I tested all year, EV or otherwise. Unlike the futuristic Mercedes EQS — which is quite attractive — LucidÂ’s car is a blend of mid-century modern interior aesthetics and classic European exterior styling. When I walked up for my test drive, someone who IÂ’m pretty sure was comedian Jon Lovitz was sitting inside and taking it all in. As it sat in the valet of a hotel in a wealthy suburban enclave north of Detroit, the Lucid drew more attention than any of the Mercedes, Cadillacs or Lexus models passing by. The driving experience was enveloping. Starting at $169,000 for the Performance model (reservations are closed), the Lucid I sampled packed 1,111 hp and 471 miles of range. From the precise steering to the comfortable suspension, the dynamics were spot-on. It's a formidable product, and all the more impressive given itÂ’s LucidÂ’s first. Chevy Bolt EV The Bolt was the most pleasant surprise for me. It handled well, offered low-to-the-ground hot hatch dynamics and the steering was dialed-in. Adding a crossover variant for the new generation was a smart play. On a summer morning where I went to a first drive of the Ford Bronco at an off-road course, my hour-long commute in the Bolt was an enjoyable appetizer.  The Bolt was also my biggest disappointment due to its extensive recalls for fire risk. Ironically, I had the Bolt in my driveway when the initial recall went out for the previous generation (2017-19).
