1974 F-100 Super Cab Barn Find
Survivor One Family Owned truck
No rust very solid

This is the story I got on this awesome rare super cab one owner truck
It was bought brand new in 1974. Same old man owned it all the way up until 2012 when he got sick and was having health problems. At that point due to insurance purposes the truck was removed from his name and put in another family members name. So to me its still a one owner since it stayed in the same family. I found the truck parked in an old garage and it had been sitting there for the last four years untouched. The gas in the tank was so dead I was suprised it would even crank. The previous owner has done some work on it and I have done some work as well. I am going to do my best to describe the truck as accurate as possible. This is a rare truck that is a super cab and has factory a/c, power steering, power brakes, and is a solid rust free body. I havent seen a bit of rust anywhere. It still needs some work but you will not find a better truck to start with anywhere than this one for the money.  Here is a list of parts I can see new that the previous owner done to the truck
New radiator
New starter
New solonoid
New Battery

I have added the following parts
New plugs
New wires
New fuel filter on the carb
Cleaned the carb with spray carb cleaner
Fresh gas
The truck will fire and run but it still has a terrible miss and is making a pecking noise on the top end. Not sure if its lifters or rockers or what. I ran the firing order and it is all right as far as I can tell. The truck is still missing bad. So I would recommend hauling or towing it to your home. The dead gas could still be an issue not sure.  If I had to guess I would say it would be best to rebuild the engine. I also noticed the heater core is leaking so I unhooked the heater hoses and hooked them together to let them recirculate. I also noticed the master cylinder is leaking so it will need a new one of those. I priced a new booster and master at Autozone for $99. The body is almost flawless. The previous owner said the truck was repainted about 10 years ago. The paint doesnt look bad and with a good buff job would probaly clean up and look good. The passenger front fender has a dent from the old man hitting something before he stopped driving it the family member was not sure what he bumped with it. Looks like you could pop most of it out with a little work. The rear part of the bed on the passenger side also has a bump from the old man and it knocked off the lower trim piece. Other than those two areas there is a small dent in the roof that would be easy to pop out. Those are the only places I have seen. I crawled all under the truck and its as solid as it was the day it rolled off the showroom floor. I have took pictures from all angles of the truck for everyone to see. The interior is almost perfect. The rear seat looks as if no one as ever been back there. The headliner is nice and the front seat has a cover on it. I noticed one little area under the cover on the drivers side from people getting in and out other than that the front seat appears in great shape. The truck has a rubber mat down on the floor with the original rubber floor mat. The owners manual and all books are also included. This truck is sold as is where is with no warranties written or implied. Again this is a solid one owner truck and would make a great restoration project for someone. Like I said the engine needs some attention. I am not a motor man but just what I see and think it would be best to rebuild it or change to another engine.  The blower motor for the heat and air is not working it may be a fuse but I have not checked it. Everything else appears to be working all the gauge lights headlights tailights interior light horn etc all works. If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures just email or call or text. I will be glad to send them to you. Thanks and good luck bidding. 828-217-2546

Ford idling Michigan Assembly Plant to trim Focus, C-Max supply

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Ford will be putting the brakes on production at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, MI, idling production during the weeks of October 28 and December 16. Ford is citing the first drop in US sales in 27 months, a 4.2-percent dip in September, as the impetus for trimming their supplies, according to Automotive News.
Ford's deft management of its supplies has been part of its success over the years, and seeing supplies of Focus and C-Max, the two vehicles built at MAP, rise from 58 and 108 days, respectively, to 71 and 122 days over the span of a month was apparently all that was need to justify the trimming. As AN points out, the rule of thumb for many automakers is to maintain a 60-day supply of vehicles.
"Ford has been focused on keeping their pricing in check. Their operating margin is in double digits. Nobody else is there and they're obviously very proud of that," Alan Baum, an auto analyst with Baum & Associates told AN. Keeping the supply chain operating smoothly and not increasing supplies too much is crucial to that healthy profit margin. After all, a large supply lowers prices ,which, in turn, cuts profit. So while this news might not be great for employees at MAP, who now have an extra two weeks of vacation time, it's far from a sign of problems in Dearborn. Quite the opposite, actually.

2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

You might not be interested in owning a subcompact (B-segment) hatchback for $20,000. Let's be clear from the get go here: there are any number of reasonable arguments for staying away from the highest-content versions of these small cars. Ford's player in the B-segment arena is the newly updated 2014 Fiesta, and the Titanium trim represents the most luxurious instantiation of the model. We recently were loaned a Fiesta Titanium for a week, whose final sticker price hit $20,390, with navigation being the only standalone option added to the bottom line. By way of comparison, the most basic version of the all new, one-segment-up Mazda3 hatchback costs $19,740 with delivery and destination accounted for, and no options added on.
Hold on to that thought for a moment, we'll get back to it.

Ford Mustang GT Bi-Fuel CNG

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Highly intrigued, we recently visited a Southern California Gas Company office to check out several hybrid vehicles promising something new. Unlike more commonplace gasoline-electric hybrids, we were there to evaluate innovative gasoline-compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrids - yes, they run on unleaded gasoline and compressed natural gas. According to the experts on hand, this arrangement delivers extended range and reduced emissions while chipping in with lower operating costs than pure-gasoline vehicles. There are advantages over its gasoline-electric counterparts, as well.
The program is part of a three-way collaboration between The Carlab, a Southern California-based automotive consulting firm, Landi Renzo USA, a company specializing in alternative fuel solutions, and America's Natural Gas Alliance, a group that promotes CNG. Long story short, the team has engineered a way to allow a modified internal combustion vehicle to seamlessly switch between two fuels (gasoline and CNG) with no driver intervention. In theory, and if it works as well as promised, it's a win-win for the vehicle owner and the environment.
Parked at the Gas Company office were six different gasoline-CNG hybrid vehicles. To demonstrate the technology's versatility (just about any gasoline vehicle may be modified) Carlab brought a varied assortment of bodystyles, each from a different automaker. After taking a quick glance at the half-dozen in the parking lot, we made a beeline for the performance-oriented Ford Mustang GT - a 2012 model - with the six-speed manual gearbox.
