1972 F100 Custom Flare Side on 2040-cars

US $11,500.00
Year:1972 Mileage:51500
Location:

Louisville, Kentucky, United States

Louisville, Kentucky, United States

This truck has been fun but I have a new project so I'm ready to let it go. I need to clear out the garage.
It has less than 52000 miles on it.

Long bed Flare Side (rare). Fords are Flare Sides, Chevys are Step Sides.
I have a side mount fender and spare tire mounting bracket for the truck that goes with it. The fender needs to be painted though. I think the addition of the side mount spare would look GREAT!

360 V8 2 barrel.
Dual Exhaust.
C6 automatic transmission. Shifts very smoothly.
Power steering.
Air conditioning. The air doesn't work right now but it is all there.
1 repaint in the original Wimbeldon White.

The truck is nearly rust free. There is an old bondo patch behind the right front wheel about 2" square.

There is a rust bubble beginning to form at the bottom outside of the passenger door. On the corner about the size of a dime. I took a photo of this but it is a poor one.

There was some rust along the inside of the bed on the flare that sits on the wooden bed. I suppose being out in the rain in its previous life the wood would hold water there. It has been ground  and painted. it is no longer rusting but you can see where it was.

These spots are not a big deal at all but I want to be clear that they are there.

There is an oil leak in the timing cover seal. This causes it to throw a little oil that winds up on the right inside of the hood. The leak is very small, not enough oil is lost to be seen on the dip stick for many miles. It does mark it's spot on the garage floor.

The steering wheel is cracked and the horn button needs to be replaced.

It does not come with a radio.

I have described everything that is wrong with the truck but said very little about how nice it is.

It is a very nice old Ford.

It starts easily, It is a pleasure to drive. Drive it anywhere.
This truck is in very good condition. The pictures tell the story. It is beautiful.

Ready for the new owner to enjoy.

Ford, GM to collaborate on 9- and 10-speed transmissions

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Back in October, there were reports that General Motors and Ford Motor Company were hard at work co-developing new nine- and ten-speed automatic transmissions, and now both automakers have confirmed this joint operation. While there are no specific vehicles mentioned to receive either transmission, a collaborative press release issued by GM and Ford mention that the transmission will be designed for front- and rear-wheel-drive cars, crossovers, trucks and SUVs.
These aren't the first powertrain components developed jointly between these cross-town rivals, either. The six-speed automatic currently used in vehicles like the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Equinox was engineered in a similar fashion. As is the case with this existing transmission, both automakers will assist in the design, development and testing of the new transmissions, but each will build its own units in its own factories. Scroll down for the official press release.

First retail 2015 Ford Mustang headed to Barrett-Jackson

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Want to be the very first person to own a 2015 Ford Mustang GT? Here's what you'll need to do: be in Scottsdale, AZ on January 18 for the Barrett-Jackson auction and bring a very big checkbook. Having a passion for charity isn't a bad idea either.
Yes, the first 2015 Mustang to be sold to the public will be crossing the block at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, with proceeds from the auction going to JDRF, the charity formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
"Ford Mustangs have always been among the most popular collector cars at Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events," said the president of Barrett-Jackson, Steve Davis. "While every collector wishes they had snapped up the first Mustang sold in 1964, this is an opportunity to realize that dream in a different way."

2015 Ford Mustang prototype spotted on the street

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Our trusty spy photographers have snapped the first photos of the 2015 Ford Mustang prototype out on public streets. With nearly every square inch of the machine covered in heavy camouflage, it's difficult to discern details, but we can see smallish horizontal headlamps at work in the coupe's nose. Ford has made it clear that modern lighting technology will allow the company to get away from large, expensive headlamp arrays in the near future, and the 2015 Mustang may very well be the first of the automaker's products to bow with the new tech. The philosophy was first displayed on the very attractive Evos Concept.
The extensive cladding doesn't extend all the way to the prototype's rockers in the instance, giving us a look at the heavily-sculpted sills. Overall, this test car looks considerably smaller than the current generation Mustang, and elements like a short front overhang and beefy dual-piston calipers give us plenty of hope for the future model. Of course, reports that the 2015 Mustang will bow with an independent rear suspension and EcoBoost power certainly don't hurt our feelings, either.
